Hi,
I have been playing around with some new astrology software and thought I would try a few different methods as I know very little about any of them so I am not biased in anyway (Yet!)when I came across the Tropical versus Sidereal subject. I will at this point mention that I have never really "felt" Like a Sagittarian as I realise that there are so many more factors involved in a chart other than just the Sun placements , anyway just for fun I did Sidereal/Koch chart and BINGO WOW! this decsribes me so much more than my previous interpertations. What I want to know is is this possible or have I missed something and am just reading into things what I want to?
With my extremely limited knowledge of this subject I am trying to work backwards and see if this new set of planetary placements has been pertinĦent to my situation over the past ten years or so , because the past 10 years has thrown some totally new experiences up at me,(moving from my birth country, loss of financial independence, loss of my identity, being tied down, total overhaul of values, a new person has emerged,(though not sure if I prefer the old one!) a completely new life situation. I think Pluto is involved?
I wish I knew enough about Astrology to be able to compare other events in my life with the two systems to be able to say which system happens to coincide with my situation and at this point in time I believe it to be the Sideral interpertation or have I got it totally wrong and in reality there is no real difference at all....?
Really appreciate any thoughts on this matter so I can move on in my studies and try to work out what Aspects mean(Told You I did not know very much!)
:confused:

As one who has been doing research on the sideral zodiac for the past four decades, I would say that the tropical signs describe best one's characteristics and temperaments. But while we look for actual life events the star sign will be more relevant.
It is true that we can predict accurately only by studying the whole horoscope.

I have this friend who is into Vedic Astrology and he uses the Sidereal chart. I had my sidereal chart done by him years ago and from time to time I will refer to it, versus my natal tropical chart. I have to be honest here, both of the charts have the same vibe, it is as if one of the charts is saying...

1+1=2

and the other is saying...

1x2=2

Both come out to the same answer but they derive at the answer from using a different mathamatical concept.

For instance, for some reason, in the Sidereal chart, and the Tropical chart, my rising sign is Gemini and Saturn is in the first house. I don't know how it happened that way because most of the time, the sign moves back when comparing Sidereal to Tropical. Any way, didn't happen with me.

My Sun sign in the Tropical is Capricorn and I really do feel like a strong Capricorn. But can Sun in Capricorn possibly be equal to Saturn in the 1st?

I am thinking yes, because anything on the first house is always very heightened and well pronounced due to the first house being a fire house, and being a mars ruled fire house at that.

Also, I have Venus in Aquarius in the tropical chart, yet in the Sidereal chart, venus is in Capricorn. I haven't as of yet found the mathamatical equivalent for Venus in Aquarius in my Sidereal chart. However, I am thinking that my feeling so strong in Capricorn, is because my Sidereal chart has Venus in Cap, plus Saturn in the first, that could be the reinforced Capricorn strenght I feel. Sidereal Venus in Cap plus Saturn in the 1st. Would feel like Sun in Cap aslo, even though Saturn in the 1st is enough.

Moving right along. In Sidereal, my Sun would be Sagittarius, I have always felt like a strong Sag as well but I had attributed that to my Jupiter being in the 9th of my tropical chart. Is it possible that Sun in Sag is equal to Jupiter in the 9th house?

I think yes, being that Jupiter rules the 9th house.

There are more mathamatical equavalents I could point out but right now I gotta run.
