hello ... i have a question for the experts here :)
i ve read that the 7th house is related to the first marriage and the 9th house to the second marriage- if the first one ended somehow-
so is the second partner going to be most likely the same sign as the cusp of the 9th ?, or if the 9th covers two signs for instance aries and taurus, can the partner be one of these two signs?
thank you

I'm by no means an expert, but I can tell you of my experience. I am in my second marriage and my ninth house covers two signs (Aquarius - for a few degrees, and Pisces - for most of the house).
My husband is a Pisces.

thank you Stacey... i wonder if that applies to long relationships w/out formal marriage as well...like the 7th house could rule a living-together situation of many years just like a marriage and the 9th a second live-together non-marriage long relationship...?

Hello!
I read in a Carol Rushman book: Predicting events with astrology that the 11th house is best to use for the second marriage. Her reasoning was: The 7th house is the REAL marriage, even if you get divorced...its a true union forever (oh great....I will be forever entangled with my ex.....yick!!!) N-E-ways, she says that it is the 5th house from the 7th which indicates the next major LOVE AFFAIR you will have after your first marriage.
But in my opinion....the 7th house will always indicate what kind of mate you will attract...and the 9th is any legal contract you will have. So I would take into consideration both the 11th for love after the 1st marriage and then the 9th for 2ndary clues as to the legal marriage. See if the 11th house and the 9th house link up in any way?
:) Leslie

I think marriage regardless what number is 7th house.
I dont think you can predict what kind of a guy you will end up marrying or circomstances by looking at the house alone. I would use transit/natal for the marriage charts .
my 2 cents on the issue

I agree that the 7th house should always be looked at regarding the states of ones' marriages.....But as far as describing the mates (potential marriageable mates) you will have......my chart has been freakishly literal: My 7th is Leo ruled with sun/jupiter/venus. = Young marriage to a foreigner. This stellium squares Uranus in the 9th house of foreigners= He was an Aquarius with a Leo Moon. Square = Divorce (My 9th house Uranus in Scorpio = unsavoury, unexpected emotional betrayal)
My current serious relationship = he is an Taurus(Venus) Aquarius Rising, with a Leo Moon. Yikes!

Hm... My first marriage was to a Sagittarius, but it came out of nowhere and lasted a very brief amount of time (if only what happened in Vegas truely stayed in Vegas... ) For the record, Sagittarius is intercepted in my 2nd house, though I've never really understood the meaning of intercepted signs.
My second marriage which was much more of an emotional commitment and a love-inspired relationship seems more to be represented by my 7th house. He's a Taurus and that's my 7th house. The whole thing. All Taurus. Interestingly, though, my daughter (from the first marriage) has always been a huge and positive factor in our relationship. Pisces is on the cusp of my 5th house and my husband has stong Pisces & Neptune influences. That's how he seems to manifest, despite his sun sign.

hi all
my 7th is taurus/gemini
my first marriage was to a scorpio sun virgo moon.. i have no idea whre that fits in lol
my 9th is all cancer them man i been involved in is cancer asc and his moon placed there.. do u think that represents him?
my 7th house has progressed to a few degrees of my 9th house
Im hopeing that means i might be marrying in a few years, ive decided i want to now.
i was reading how the 7th represents how we feel about marriage..
as taurus is mine, i expected it to be practicle, i wanted to look up to my parner as a majority of the provider and for him to be a steady minded mate... alas wasnt so hahah:rolleyes:
then it progressed into gemini.. i dated quite a lot:o thought marriage to be too unpredictable and changeable and couldnt keep my eyes from straying anyway.. hmmm
now its been in cancer the last few years im far more mellow and home orientated, i want to be in a loveing committed family friends environment..
so yeah i think it really does change or evolve.. thank god!:D

You guys completely lost me on that one. My 7th is libra and my marriage was to a capricorn (10th) I have no idea. I have been seeing a libra now for the last 12 years (longer by 7 in my marriage) but we are the proverbial porcupines...to steal a line from a movie "how do porcupines mate?" ......"carefully" Any way I am not sure things follow true to form clearly from what I have read above so there must be more clear pictures or indicators. When I used my venus charts going back, back in time...the only thing I could validate was the vertex hard aspect north node theory on significant other.....anyone for that.....also in progressions it looks like p-saturn was trining p-venus. and then when I met the Libra p-ACS was opposing trining natal venus/mar s conj. I think that is hwo it worked ...so anyone else true to form on marrying the 7th house dude or dudette?
It doesnt mean that you will marry a libra because this is on your 7th sign
you may marry a man with those libra qualities thou:D
check juno to the other persons plannets or nodes or houses
I found some potient aspects going on there with mine.

9th house does not denote 2nd marriage, I dont know where that comes from. If anything it would be 7th +7th which means the 1st house.....and I dont adhere to that...... your marriages always show in the 7th house, even multiples. THere would be a dual sign involved such as Pisces, Gemini, Libra
or Sagittarius or their rulers.
A house really cannot be ruled by two signs either. THere is only one cusp and the ruler of that sign is the house ruler.

Hi, do the supposed marriage houses go for "legal" marriages?or one who is engaged?
How about relationships Like boyfriend/girlfriend?
Legal or committed long term contractual partnerships belong to the 7th.
ENgagement belongs still to the 5th house, as well as affairs and lovers or boyfriend and girlfriend....... as you have not signed the documents of marriage. It is not legal, shall we say. THese days people co habit without marriage but the relationship still belongs to the 5th house and/or 4th of domestic and family issues. The inference being that the 5th house is fun, romance and entertainment and the 7th is more serious with issues of equality and finding balance and accord and being committed in the eyes of the world.
i.e. Britney Spears was married twice I think, briefly??? Neither one had showed up in her 7th house as she was not really committed but just drunk or whatever..... I found that interesting to note.

hi all
my 7th is taurus/gemini

If your 7th house is intercepted by Gemini... then your Taurean 7th house may be in the Virgoan decan... so that explain why you married a Virgo moon man..... Another thing... you can also attract people with the same sun sign, or major planets as your ascendant
my 9th is all cancer them man i been involved in is cancer asc and his moon placed there.. do u think that represents him? yes
my 7th house has progressed to a few degrees of my 9th house
