Hi,

Could anyone suggest how to spot from natal charts whether an individual may become a successful writer?
After reading the thread about Harry Potter I'd be very curious to know what makes JK Rowling so successful now -she struggled a lot finding a publisher for the first book of the series and for about 5 years no one read the book....

Thanks

hi whitepetals,
For things like these, you need to find out what you're trying to find out
successful author
success is seen by 10th and 11th house, houses of fame and gain respectively with the lords of these houses and their transits. with venus and jupiter as they are benefics, sun and moon also signify fame but i think they would be more like a royalty.
and author is the 3rd house and mercury, aspects and transits.
Look at all these aspects in Rowling's chart and see if you can find something.
and hey tell us about it.

White,

Also look for a lot of Gemini (writing) in the chart. 3rd house, Gemini, and Mercury are all about "writing" in the chart. And, if the North node (future goals is focused in the 3rd house or in Gemini, then writing of some sort is strongly indicated.

Writing of writing,

Tim

I found JK Rowling's chart here:
http://www.adze.com/Celebrities/JKRowling.htm

J.K. Rowling, born 1965 July 31 at 1200PM, Chipping Sodbury, England
(51N33 2W24 1E)

Although I'm suspicious about the accuracy of the birth time since it's listed at noon, the chart does fit a writer.

Jupiter ruling the 3rd in the 9th of publishing and sextiling her Sun. Also 1st Mars trines the 9th Jupiter.

Even if the time isn't correct, she has a stellium in Virgo, ruled by Mercury and that Sun-Leo Jup-Gemini sextile. Probably the T square with Saturn in Pisces shows the hard times before success.
