View Full Version : Will Nephew survive?

Hi
I set up an Horary asking will my nephew survive. He has been operated on for a ruptured duodenum, and the next 24hrs are important, as there is a chance of pneumonia setting in as well as infection from seepage due to delay in getting treatment. They are keeping him walking and on strong antibiotics, also drainage tubes from the duodenum, to help prevent pneumonia or difficulty in breathing.
I set chart at 14:01:27pm on 30 July 07 NZT 12hr ahead GMT.
In turning the houses, my 7H for nephew and my 12H becomes his 6H of health. [using Koch].
Am I looking at the right places? Getting confused. Jupiter, ruler of the Asc I got, is retrograde, is this bad??
Any help would really be appreciated.
Marg:)

Hi Marg,
It's always a touchy subject, this, as no-one wants to be the bearer of bad news.
As it is, I've made my own chart for this query (using the traditional Regiomontanus house system). The chart is mixed, and it may be that your nephew is indeed in a 'touch and go' situation.
Your nephew (I have also taken the 7th to represent him) has Fortuna exactly on his Ascendant (radix DSC). This is fortunate, as the name implies.
He is in bad shape right now, health-wise (Mars, his 6th ruler is detrimented in Taurus. Mars rules ruptures, amongst other things). Although there are no direct applying aspects between Saturn, ruler of the turned 8th of death, and Mercury, the nephew's significator (the traditional indications of death in a chart), there is an applying square between Mars (6th ruler) and Saturn (8th ruler). What concerns me most and may turn the tide is that Mars, his 6th ruler, is approaching a conjunction with Caput Algol, a very malefic fixed star. He may take a turn for the worse. There is also a translation of light between Saturn, Mars, and Mercury in that approaching square. His health (detrimented Mars) carries the 'light' of Saturn to Mercury, which applies by sextile to Mars. That is not good news, I'm afraid.
However, as you noted, Jupiter, the greater benefic, is posited in your nephew's 6th house. As Jupiter signifies neither the illness nor death, this is a good thing. Jupiter is quite strong, notwithstanding its retrograde position, and is just about to retrograde back into Mercury's terms. The Moon, ruler of the 'action' of a chart, is in Mercury's term as well; it has passed the opposition of the Sun, bringer of vitality, and applies by sextile to Jupiter.
Weighing the matter, I am inclined to hope that your nephew will survive, for these reasons:
1. Fortuna placed right on his Ascendant
2. A strong Jupiter placed in the 6th house, with the Moon applying.
3. The *square* between 8th ruler Saturn, and 6th ruler Mars.
4. Mercury is stronger than Saturn, being in its own terms and face. Saturn (death) is in Mars' terms and face: his health.
5. This may or may not carry weight, but the end of the matter for this question is ruled by Leo (turned 4th; the outcome for your nephew). It is in a late degree, and Saturn hovers on the angle. But Saturn is detrimented there, and Leo (vitality ruler) is applying to Jupiter, and this augurs well for an improvement.
I truly hope your nephew recovers and send my thoughts and prayers to you and to him. I'd be very grateful if you could let us know (or let me know by PM if you wish) what the outcome is.
Best wishes and best of luck,
AG:)

Marg, Just to add to what Archer has said: The moon has passed its opposition to the sun..It will conjunct chiron, neptune and then oppose saturn and finally sextile pluto....I think the moon's jorney well describes the seriousness of your dear nephew's condition and also the procedures he will undergo. I know many astrologers don't use pluto but I do, especially in life and death questions. The placement of pluto on his descendent (turned chart using the nephew as H7 cusp- your chart) tells me it depends on the "other person". Mercury's trine to Uranus is a good sign for the success of technology. The surgeon would be ruled by cusp of H4 (turned tenth) and here we find Saturn ruling but intercepted by jupiter which is in the "least bad shape" of just about everything in the chart. I do hope and pray your nephew will come through this. The saturn on his turned H4 cusp can also represent how worried everyone is about the child, being in Leo, the natural ruler of children. Kind wishes, Lillyjgc

Archergirl and Lillyjpc :)
thankyou both so much for doing this horary, we are so scared at the moment, and my mind won't concentrate on working it out myself. We are so lucky in a way, that he came back to NZ last week to renew his work voucher for an Eastern country, and he was at home when he started feeling unwell. I feel he is being protected in a way.
I know the 8H deals with death, but I also read about it being about your ability to heal or recuperate.
I thought that Pluto retrograde in 1H trine Saturn in 9H Leo would give inner strength, but forgot to note what the turned houses would be.
Lilly - you say "The saturn on his turned H4 cusp " - can you please explain the turned house procedure here, I've totally lost it. Sometimes I think I've got it, then my mind goes off in another direction.
Archergirl - you put so much work into your reading, esp noting the positions of strengths and weakness - thankyou for caring.
Will definitely let you know what happens - for good or not good.
God bless

Marg, I used your chart and took the H7 cusp as your nephew, represented by Mercury (gemini). His H4 cusp would be the MC (counting 4 house cusps from the descendent in an anti-clockwise direction) so HIS H4 cusp has Saturn there. His H10 cusp would then be the IC and that cusp is ruled by Saturn intercepted (luckily, I hope) by Jupiter which is in HIS H6 -his illness. The connection between H4 (his H10) and its ruler on the opposing cusp is what leads me to think the doctor/specialist plays a huge role in the outcome (His H4 cusp)...I hope I haven't confused things for you! Thanks Lillyjgc. A lot clearer, I understood it even though it is 2.10am here and still plugged into the computer.
By the way, does the jgc at end of Lilly stand for "jolly good chap"? Does the Lilly refer to the Horary Lilly ?
Have a good day wherever you are, cheers, Marg.

aww kiwikid,
I understand what you're going through.
An uncle of mine had the same problem umm a few months ago, he was a doctor himself...
they took him to intensive care, and there they administered some kind of glue..it was very expensive, this glue was something which stuck itself to the raptured intestine and was healed, the doctors thought he won't be able to make it, but the family had hope and he survived, but it was a GRUELLING 2-3 days for all of them..
if i look at the horary, i don't know what'll happen, its mostly bad, but so is the situation, BUT BUT, the main lord/boss is moon, and it signifies good numbers, so there might be a chance...
all i can say is keep faith..
hey you in NZ right, this might sound crazy, but can you umm donate some milk to the kids or all in hospital. Milk is signified by moon and we need to make it stong, what's the harm in trying..
All the best....all our prayers are with your family..

Hi Sandeep. Was good to hear a positive outcome for your Uncle who also had this problem. Moon is waning now.
All this happened when Moon was VOC on Sun 29th Aug 2.24pm to 1.15am Monday NZT and then went into Aquarius. They had a 1hr wait in accident & emergency dept before being seen by Dr, but the Dr took only a couple of minutes to see what was happening, scrapped any scans and raced my nephew into surgery.
My Mother and my nephew, both Leos, had a really tight bond. As a 4yr old he used to run across 2 paddocks to see her. His mother would ring my mum and tell her "a little visitor was coming to see her" and Mum would go out to the gate to meet him, then they would play for hours. Mum has passed now, but her birthday is tomorrow Aug 1st, and I know she'll be protecting him right now. She was always a fiercely protective tigress to her cubs.
Thanks for the prayers and help with my request, you have a beautiful heart there.
Cheers, Marg :)

Hi Lillyjgc,
From my nephews current chart, although not horary, but descriptive of events happening.
His prog Moon is in Aries in his natal 4H.
His natal moon is in Gemni 5H koch/ 6H Placidus and conj his true N.Node [0.14 orb] and Chiron [1.45 orb].
His Solar Arc Mars in Sag is conjunct Transit Jupiter Rx which is conjunct natal 12H Koch cusp exactly and conjunct natal Uranus [sep 0.15 orb]. Natal Uranus is in 11H but only 0.15 from 12H cusp.
Tr Jupiter turns direct on 7 Aug and hope there is a real turn for the better then.
He has 5 natal planets in Fire signs - Leo/Sag. Literally "fire in his belly".
I come across a lot of Australians in astrological forums, and you all seem so experienced in this field.
My grandfather was a Tasmanian, met my grandmother on a train over here and stayed. His other ? 9 bros and sisters stayed in Tasmania.
Thanks again for all the help. Cheers, Marg.
ps. say hi to the dog :)

hey kiwikid,
thanks for your kind words..
but i am not speaking of the Transit moon, in vedic astrology we have 3 planets influencing a native at one time..same goes for horary..which we call the dasha system...in your nephew's horary..moon is the chief boss..a benefic..but with not good strength..it'll try its best to save your nephew and we want it to be powerful...

Hi Archergirl:
just an update on my nephew.
He came out of hospital thursday morning NZT. On a very bland and restricted diet, limited movement. Cause was an stomach ulcer very near entrance to duodenum [ulcer started a few weeks before returning to NZ], it was the top part of duodenum that ruptured. A glue patch was used to seal the rupture, same as for Sandeeps uncle.
So its a positive outcome and your interpretation was correct.
He no longer thinks of having to come back to NZ to renew his work visa as a nuisance, but rather as a lifesaver.
His sister, who has the flu, has been banned to her bedroom upstairs- poor kid.
Thanks for your help once again.
Cheers, Marg :)
