Hi All,

This is Kris from India and I am quite new to this forum. I have recently started to learn Vedic Astrology. I was going through this site and found that there are many senior members in this forum who knows each other since long and so I really dont have any clue with where to start from?

I also have so many questions in my mind, which I so very feel would be able to solve here at this site. I feel that this is the perfect platform for all astrolgers around the world to gather around and get to know each other and exchange the views and ideas.

Hi Kris, welcome to the boards. :)

If Vedic astrology is your main interest, I'm not sure this is the best environment in which to learn about it.

There are however many internet sources that offer detailed information upon Vedic astrology, which is something that I am interested in, but I feel that it is a serious advantage to have a decent knowledge of Indian culture and Hindu thought and even to have read the sacred texts of India in order to appreciate it fully. I would like to take a deeper look into Vedic astrology one day.

I find that Vedic astrology, for all it's differences of perspective from modern Western astrology, is more akin in many ways to traditional Western astrology.

If you are unsure of where to start in astrology - I couldn't recommend looking into horary astrology more. In fact, traditionally this is the first rung of the ladder upon the astrological path.

You might want to have a look at Skyscript, which is an excellent educational resource and a mine of information is available from some very knowledgeable members. It also offers some very good tutorials to whet your palette and get you into horary astrology. Not that I'm trying to chase you away of course. :rolleyes:

Thanks for your advice. Thats true.. this is ofcourse not a perfect enviornment for me to learn more about vedic astrology, but still is the best forum to share, discuss and exchange the views, ideas and knowledge with other members.

Its great to know that vedic astrology interests you a lot. I have few sites which could help you learn more about vedic astrology.

Yes thats my kitten. I am very fond of kittens. infact all animals...
