Hello Sam,
The ruler of the the second house, (the book), is Jupiter Rx in the first.
The object is in the home or where it should be. Where you spend most of your time, the most used room in the house, the office. Where your possesions are kept. The front porch or an entrance to the house.
Location: East
Jupiter lies in Sagittarius. Large upper rooms, fireplaces, radiators or near heat. Places that one goes to daydream or "expand the mind."
Colors: Yellow or Reddish Green
Location: South East
POF also lies in the first house\Saggitarius. Again a very strong indication that the book is at home where it belongs or is normally kept.
Sagittarius is a fire\mutable sign. Again pointing to inside of the home. Look around warm places, near chimneys, walls, stoves, fireplaces and anywhere that heat may possibly be generated. If outside outdoors look around watery places, ditches or pits.
In any case, you will find it soon if you haven't already. You may want to stand in the middle of your home and go South until you can not go further and the walk East. The book may be in worse condition when found due to Jupiter being retrograde.
I hope this helps,
Ed

Thanks Ed! I've taken your advice and looked in those places but still no luck. I thought maybe I just put it on my bookshelf absentmindedly but I've checked it over and no sign of it. I will keep your suggestions for its location in mind and hopefully it will turn up. This is driving me crazy!
I still haven't found it. :( I think I should just buy a new copy...

Hi Sam,
You might also want to check somewhere *next to* the house; it's 'near' you, for sure, but Jupiter, the book, is in the next sign along from the house ruler, Scorpio. Someone I know lost her purse, had this same aspect, and found the purse outside in the back garden, just outside the door! This might also mean it is somewhere 'next to' where it should be, e.g. near the bookshelf where you thought it was, but not in it.
The Moon is hidden in the 8th house, but in her own sign. The book is concealed somehow and is not easily seen by you (applies to square Mars). You'll really have to comb over everything. I'm wondering if the book isn't near either a bunch of paperwork (Mercury), a bunch of keys, or multiples of something (like a set of books, for example) as Mercury rules 'multiples' of things, and the Moon is near it.
I think you will find it, eventually; the Moon applies to trine the Ascendant in 8 degrees; since 8 weeks has already passed, it may be around 8 months!
A good housecleaning is in order, I believe...:p
Good luck!
AG:)

Do not buy new, you will surely find it!Ruler of 2nd is rx and planet in 2nd too, that is sure signs of recovery!
Look at wardrobe on east side of house. Or on places where you have some things in connection with religion or law. Book is under something or in something (maybe plastic bag) , you can not see it (Pl rx in 2nd).
Near colours:blue, yellow, purple
Thanks for all the help!
Here's the story behind losing it, if it helps at all:
I had the book on the last day of school. I am pretty sure I brought it home, but I cannot be for certain as it was a while ago and my memory of it isn't fresh. I have looked for it at school but haven't found it. Does the chart possibly indicate it could be there?
I had it in my bag which i put in the closet as I wouldn't be using it. I have looked in the closet floor and haven't found it either.
My bookshelves are a mess, so it would be no surprise for it to be hidden under papers, magazines, etc. I have looked through everything there though.
It's possible it's somewhere around the desk by the front door as that's typically where I absentmindedly set things after coming in. It's also where everyone puts their keys.
If it's beside the house, its condition is probably bad by now through all the rain and heat.

Hi Sam,
The chart clearly indicates that the book is somewhere very near you, somewhere you frequent a lot, and very most likely inside (or next to) the house.
If the book were at school we would either see Jupiter in the 3rd house or 9th house (depending on how old you are, e.g. high school or university). But it's in the 1st, and that generally means 'home'.
I'm sure you'll find it, though it will take some time.
Best,
AG:)
Thanks again. :) Let's hope so!

My humble idea is simple like this ; Jupiter the ruler of the book is in the 1st, but it's retrograding. What's more important is that there's no aspect between Jupiter and Pluto or Mars (the querent), so I think it may not be found.
Sam, sorry to say that you have to buy a new one.
Goodluck anyway !!

It has been a while ago indeed since the question was asked and it would be great if we could hear about the results.
After reading over all the posts, it also occurred to me to look at the natural ruler of books which is Mercury and it is in Cancer which shows a place where there are wet things. Merc. is also retrograde and this indeed can mean that the book will return eventually to you (the Moon!). It is in the 8th house, very dirty, obscure place and also wet. So when it is outside as some suggested and you say that it has been raining, well, then indeed it will be wet! and dirty. Have you been reading it whilst being outside? Maybe it fell out of your bag? Think where you walked that day. Hope you will still get it back.
The first time I posted a question on this site, I was told to READ THE RULES, post more info on how and where I asked question, etc., etc., and then to post MY OWN ANALYSIS first.
I was told that was the "rules" of this forum. I had to jump through all kinds of hoops. It was ridiculous and some of the things I was told to post had already been posted in my question. But I complied with the request.
But I see here it seems the rules don't apply to everyone. There was no attempt by this poster to analyze this chart himself.

Hi Rae, you are absolutely right. Sam should indeed have done an interpretation by himself first. We are trying to tell the newcomers about this , at least I do, also when a question is being asked about interpretation of a personal chart. I think I requested you about it didn't I?, but it should be up to the first one who replies to think about this really. After a few answers had past, I saw this thread and the same occured to me, but as we were already way into the question it sort of looked strange to all of a sudden ask Sam to start interpreting the chart him/herself. But you are right and I am very happy that you indeed complied with the request. I tried to just put a link there so the new one's amongst us can be directed to it with one click, but I did not manage that.I am not so good at it. I will keep on trying. Thanks for mentioning it Rae! Cheers, Star.

Hi Star:
That's okay. Thanks for your courteous reply. I'm not a stickler for rules, per se, but I AM a stickler for applying them fairly to everyone. (Can't help it, that's how my 9th house is configured :))
