Hello all,
I am new to astrology and to this wonderful forum. I am curious to know about when you know of a sports event such as Baseball, for instance, when is the right time to cast a chart for the game? Also, what are things to watch out for during the match.... if any?
Thank you,
Jeff:)

Hi Jeff, welcome to this forum!
About when is time to ask question read this Radu's article :
http://astrologyweekly.com/astrology-articles/taking-horary-questions.php
That is in case when you ask question, if you want to know for example if your team will win the game. Than you give your team 1st house ruler and another team is represented with 7house ruler, because 7 house represent open enemy . See which ruler is strongest and that team will win.
But if you cast event chart than you use time and coordinates for the kickoff of match and place where the match play.
Go to this link where it is explained detailed:

Hello.
Thank you so much for the reply. What happens if you cast a chart and there are no planets in both the 1st and 7th houses?
Thanks again

We do not need planets in 1st or 7th house because in horary we work with ruler of 1st and ruler of 7th house for match. But if there are some planets we see if thay help or not. It is important if that planet is near cusp(under 5 degree) because its influence is big, but if planet is far from cusp especially if it is in another sign that the cusp its influence is small. And if you have Moon, Ve or Ju that are benefic planets and thay are good for that team. But if you have Sa, Ma, thay are malefic planets and thay are not good for that team.

When you read that page try to make prediction for some match and post it on this forum. Theory is always easy, but practice is hard. We learn on our mistakes so you must practice and I will help you as I can. After some practice all will be clear to you. I must say this is not so easy as it sounds! There are a few theory "who is who" in chart and after some practice you will choose some of the theory which brings you best results.

Hello again,
One program I do have is Janis 3.0 there in the program it has it's Horary section there. I noticed that you can "turn" the chart. When I want to cast the chart, do I leave the chart alone or do I turn it?
Thank you so much for all advice.
Jeff

It depends of question. If you ask the question than you have not to turn chart because you are represented with first house. But if you ask some question about your friend, for example "will my friend go to short trip?" than you must turn chart, because your friend is represented with ruler of radical 11 house, and that is 1st house for your friend, and "his" short trip is represented with ruler of his 3 house, that is 3 house from 11 house of radical chart= 1st house radical chart.
