So I noticed the topic concering saturn transitting a natal sixth house. It got me to think that I don't know much about the effects of transitting planets on natal houses. I'd like to get some guidelines on how to interpret their effects, especially on the 12th house.
Thanks

MMM....that's a BIG topic, sorehearted. :D
Why don't you pick a planet and sign (with degree) to put in the 12th house natally and then a planet that you want to interact with it through transit and then we can take you around the aspect cycle and give you some feedback.

sorehearted,
Transiting planets have a similar effect as birth planets do in a birth chart, only transiting planets effects go away over time, while birth planets effects are with us our entire life. The challenge is that, while you have your whole life to adjust to the energy of your birth planets, you may have only a few days to adjust to the energy of transiting planets.
For this reason I rarely look at the transits which take a few days (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars transits) but instead concentrate my attention on the planets which take a longer period of time (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). These longer planets can have a very strong effect on us, because the long length of the planets' transits FORCE us to make life adjustments to their energy.
The longer the length of the transit, the more dramatic the "forcing effect". This is one reason why Pluto transits, which are the longest, can have such a dramatic effect on people's lives.
Planets transiting through the birth 12th house (spirituality, also confusion, deception) could possibly cause the energy of the transiting planet to be focused on spiritual issues, or focus the energy on confusion or deception. The type of energy depends on how the person uses/views both this transiting energy and the 12th house. As in all things in astrology...it depends how you use it!

Elianah & Tim,
Thank your for your replies.
Tim.. Transitting Mars should have a big effect these days. It's retrograding, right? It'll stay in Taurus (and my 12th house) for quite some time. Here's an effect I wanna know about. (Elianah, this should intesrest you coz you suggested I pick a planet).
OK. My birth data is 15 August 1979 00:30 am Cairo, Egypt (GMT+2)
I have the moon in Taurus at 22:44:56. The Cusp of the 12 house is in Aries at 21:18:22 taking around 9 degrees of Aries and all of Taurus.
Right now Mars is in Taurus at 22:46:51, retrograding, transitting my 12th house and conjucting my natal moon whose natal aspects are all stressful.
What effects should I expect till the end of the Rx period (some time in January) and until Mars leaves my 12th house alltogther (some time in April)?

sorehearted,
Transiting (planets moving in the sky) Mars (being, also action) focused in the 12th house (spirituality, also confusion, deception) could indicate spiritual action or possibly confused or deceptive actiions, depending on how the person chooses to use the energy. While this is useful to know, it is more important to see which planets Mars touches by aspect, for these are the planets through which Mars energy will work.
In your case, transiting Mars is conjuncting (energy is combined with) your Moon (home, also emotions), making you likely to have emotional actions and reactions. In addition, Mars is opposing (energy is over-excited by) Uranus (friends, also rebellion), so there may be a tendency to emotionally rebel at this time. As you mentioned there is also a square (energy needs to be combined with) your stellium (collection of energy) in the 4th house (home, also emotions), further indicating emotional issues.
In short, this is an emotional time for you, with a tendency to rebel at others. This stressful transit of Mars will be complete by the middle of February (okay, that's MORE than a "few days"! ;) ), so it might be helpful to work at practicing patience until then! ;) The challenge of this transit is the emotional issues are created by actions (either your actions or someone else's), so you have to be ready at all times to back off from your actions if they get too emotionally intense.
After February, even though Mars is in your 12th house, the emotional intensity should be MUCH less. Even so, be careful about possible issues of deception. Use your new-found energy to take actions in spiritual things (meditation, yoga, etc.)...which you may already be doing.
