Greetings everybody,

I have always been interested in astrology, but have mostly taken a back seat and allowed other astrologers to read my chart and tell me what's going on. Recently, I thought of taking a more involved look at astrology, especially horary, and I discovered that there are a lot of resources out there that can help.

I have just completed the introductory lessons on how to read a chart by Tim Wilson and looking at some of the responses in this forum, it seems like I have a long way to go. I wanted to know what effect an unknown birth time will have on your chart. I also wanted to know if a birth date and time is relevant if I ask a question at a specific time and location; especially in drawing up a chart?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to learn Astrology, I suggest start by learning Nativity Astrology (or Natal Charts), once you understand the basics it will make all sorts of other types of Astrology very simple (got to learn addition and subtraction before calculus!). I would also suggest starting with Traditional Astrology. Because of its age there are tons of resources you can and it will explain a lot of the reasons why things are used in Modern Astrology. I offer a few books for beginners on my website that break down Astrology very simply;

I also offer some other resources which are to aid the seeking student;

Birthtimes are extremely important, you need them for House placement. Without a birthtime you can only interpret the Planets in their Signs and angles between them. The Houses tell us what area of our lives are effected the most. I have included a special treatise for people who are unsure of their birthtimes as well;

That shows all the ways of rectifying your birthtime. For Horary, it is important to put in all the data (time/date/location). I hope that answers your questions and good luck! Its a long road but very rewarding!

Hi and thanks for your response and valuable guidance. I greatly appreciate it. I will proceed as you have suggested - starting off with the Natal charts.

Thanks once again.

Np! It actually took me no time at all to learn Horary completely, came almost naturally because it was just an "easier" version of a Nativity. Once you know those basics, and a few rules for Horary, it is extremely simple (which is probaly why its so favored!). Good luck!
