This has entered my mind for years - work for myself and be my own boss. My intuition is trying to guide me to start contracting out my own services to the community over working under somebody. I've done the employed thing for 19 years now and the past few employers have just been awful.
My supports can't understand why I still hang on to jobs that pay me poorly and the employers not being fair etc.
Why is it that I'm sooooooooooo strongly resistant about change and why is it that I strongly value stability - I really hate shaking things up or going against the status quo. But something in me now is saying start taking charge of my life and how income is earned. Maybe my sense of values is out of whack.
I have a cooking diploma from a local Tech College and I was trained in every aspect of the kitchen. I wish I could become a personal cook or something.
My friends for years have been really bothering me to start reading charts for charge cause I think to them they see some potential. One friend told me that She thinks astrology is my calling - It isn't PRACTICAL or stable enough to bring anything in. So I refuse to charge and play around with it as a hobby.
I figure with this I'll need to go seek some professional help with this - find a new therapsit to talk to and get my dysfunctions straight.

Inner,
You have Pluto (transformation, also control) widely square (energy needs to be combined with) your Ascendant (self), so you have a need for self-control. The challenge is...we are NEVER in control. We always have to depend on someone to pay us a salary or for clients to purchase our services or for something OUT THERE to help us get through our lives. This is a HARD lesson for a Pluto square Ascendant person, who is always trying to "bundle in" some sense of control into themselves and their lives.
Another challenge, is you have Moon focused in the 2nd house (physical, also our money). Whatever house the Moon is in indicates changes in the issues of that house. With Moon focused in the 2nd house, there are changing money matters...sometimes a lot sometimes a lot less.
So now that you know there is no way to fully control things and that money issues will come up from time to time, you can develop a "game plan" to handle the situation. And, with ALL the experience you have had and ALL the people you have helped over the years, you have a HUGE potential client list of people who (probably) would be willing to pay you for the services you have been giving them over the years.
Remember you have Aquarius (friends, also outer self-expression) modifying North node (future goals) focused in the 10th house (duty, also career). So you have a need to have a career of helping others express themselves. But that doesn't mean YOU can't take care of yourself. Use your urge to help others as a motivation to find the RIGHT job for yourself so YOU can help people in the best possible way. As you know, if YOU'RE not happy, you can't give it your all to helping the world at large!
Setting up a new business takes time, patience, and a LOT of effort. But if that's what you feel you need to do in order to find a business that will respect you for your abilities and skills...then that's what you have to do! :)
Careering in a new way,
Tim

Here is a story from earlier this week.........Last night I went out and did my stand up act for 5 minutes and it was a train wreck. I didn't run off the stage, I could actually stand there and work upon the things I wanted to say. It takes a lot of work doing what I do and I haven't given up.
I went up on stage and said that I am a recovering introvert (the Emcee did a nice intro.) I go on to say that if somebody told me a year ago what I'd be doing on stage, I wouldn't have believed it.
After the show last night I went to a music jam with a bunch of other comics - there was a guy there - who was just an audience member at the comedy show. He said that he is a introverted and private kind of guy who wants to do what I'm doing - getting up on stage and performing. He told me that he is trying to work up the nerve to go on stage. I told him how I started going on stage and went on about my journey and processes. I hope I've inspired him more to follow his heart on stage and to overcome the reserve about opening up.
I feel very touched that I'm able to inspire people who are simular to me who want to do what I'm doing on stage - inspiring the quiet reserved introverted person. It means a lot to me to be able to inspire others and I find that people take notice of my courage and determination to do what I do. Even though I have taken center stage in my hobby, it feels like I am still giving of myself to others. (If that makes sense)...Just being who I am and sharing my message with others around me. At least I'm not being my stuck up, anal retenetive self ignoring all those around me.....
For my astrologer friends.....
I know Leos like to take center stage but with Aquarius it's about individuality and helping out humanity. Maybe this is my nodal balance....ah who knows.....all that I know at this time is that I feel touched cause somebody found what I do inspiring....
Now If that is not "helping and inspiring another" then send me off to Ponoka....

There is another job opportunity: career counseling. And, if you haven't already seen it, Judy Carter wrote a great book on how to be a Stand Up comic:
