I feel I have learnt quite a bit about myself since I have started to explore astrology. I am at that stage of my life when I long to know my inner self better and to discover my true life purpose. It has become somewhat of an unhealthy obsession (!). Much time is taken in analysing my natal aspects and what they may mean. Being a beginner, I am not entirely confident in studying it from a wider perspective - on a whole rather than in bitesize chunks. This is where I am hoping somebody with some experience in astrology can help. What insights may you be able to offer me on my innate character, strengths and life purpose? Many thanks in advance. Any replies would be much appreciated

I am sorry to copy and paste from another forum. I would have liked to have been able to attach the natal chart properly to the thread without having to link to the site in which it is stored. Unfortunately, I am on an iPad and not being too familiar with it, am uncertain if documents can be saved and uploaded automatically online...
Please accept my apologies. I do not mean to come across as rude or lazy. Thanks.

You have 4 planets in Cancer in the fourth House your home and family are very important to you especially your mother (moon), but family might stand in the way of your career success (sun in cancer opposing neptune in Capricorn in the 9th) conjunct your M.C you might be illusioned/disillussioned about your status in the world. Maybe the reverse is true and you will be tied down with children. You might have an unusual approach or study something unusual in higher education or it might stock family that you study (maybe your father doesn't want you to go to uni/college?).
Career wise you would do well in finances (MC Capricorn, 2nd house Taurus), but in your daily service could be more connected to creativity and children (leo 6th). With Venus in gemini your a great communicator and you love talking:).
Around your saturn return beware of your health (as saturn in Sag opposes mars) and could indicate an accident especially overseas.
Jupiter in your ascendant of Aries you are larger then life and may love sports and the outdoors, or be a leader. You are larger then life with a jovial attitude.
With Pluto in the 7th house I think you won't get married till later in life but as it has positive aspects to your sun. moon and mercury it will be a very happy marriage, although possibly you could go through a great divorce i.e get rid of the burden.
Hope this helps

Hey Kittybaby. Thanks so much for your time and effort in replying to my post. I value your insight into my birth chart. There is some confusion in how I am meant to identify with my aries ascendant and capricorn MC though.
There is no question of the characteristics in which I have always shown - I am a very emotional, intuitive and subjective person with typical cancerian traits. I care a lot for my family and share a strong bond with my mother - she is a pisces and therefore similar in nature to me. I suppose the notion of being a homebody is correct for I spend a great deal of my time at home. Perhaps it is down to my cancer stellium that I am relatively introverted and reluctant to go out unless necessary.
This is where I cannot possibly identify with my aries ascendant. Ever since I can remember, I have always felt different from others and lacked much in confidence and self esteem. I have struggled to overcome my shyness and reservations in meeting people and making friends. There has always been a fear of rejection and not being accepted. For these reasons, I have faced bouts of depression due to loneliness and such. I've improved over the last few years but I still lack in friends and feel pessimistic about what the future may bring. I realise the aries ascendant is ultimately what I must learn to work towards but honestly, I cannot see myself taking on the aries qualities. I am too stuck in my stubborn ways! On a similar note, venus in gemini is an aspect I do not feel an affinity with. When I have come to know someone and a rapport exists between us, I can talk comfortably with them. However, I am aware that I struggle in expressing myself verbally - I find it hard to explain what I think at times and get lost for words. I have been told this may be down to my mercury being in retrograde? I really enjoy written communication though as it comes easier to me.
You mention that having an MC Capricorn and Taurus in the 2nd house could imply I would have a potential career in finances or as a leader. For one, I am atrocious at Maths and not logically minded at all! In terms of being a leader, I am considering the likes of careers in teaching, mentoring or personal coaching. I would love to study counselling but as it is expensive and takes years of training and practice I do not think I could afford it. I have a degree in media and cultural studies. Since university, - in particular the last 6 months or so I have become deeply interested in the likes of psychology, personal and spiritual development. Saying that, I have expressed interest in the tarot and other such things before that. So, you are definitely right on that one!
Jupiter in aries aspect gets lost on me. I do not like sports at all and although I can appreciate the outdoor nature, I am not a big adventurer. It is funny really as the opposite is more like me - I am pretty lazy and physically unfit!
Unfortunately, I cannot appreciate my capricorn midheven. Although I am concerned for matters of stability, structure and order I think a career in a capricorn related job would be...soul destroying and boring. I am too imaginative and creatively driven to prosper in an environment where objectivity and concrete facts are valued over subjectivity and harmony etc.
Taking all of this into consideration, it appears that my natal chart is very complex and full of contradictions. Either that or...I am not reaching my given potential!
Thanks again for your insight into my chart. It is much appreciated

"This is where I cannot possibly identify with my aries ascendant."
I understand that I am in my 30's and I still find it hard to identify with my Taurus ascendant I think we grow into our rising sign over time and it can be how others see us not ourselves.
It seems to me that Cancer is dominating everything in your chart and that is not a bad thing play to Cancer's strengths not their weaknesses.
Also with Jupiter squaring sun, moon, mars, mercury and lilith that could mute its power.
Venus in Gemini in 2nd House I think you will make money through communications or find love through the internet.
Taurus is still on the cusp 2nd House you know how to value things, maybe you should be in charge of family finances or a career involving in antiques.
Capricorn on the M.C could be ambition.
Cancer in the 4th House you would be very good at counselling.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. I reckon it will be a long time til I get to grips with my rising aries too. It is amusing for me to think others may perceive me like this. Perhaps this will give me the confidence to think differently about myself and what I could possibly achieve if I push hard enough and leave my worries and pessimism behind.
Funny you should mention how venus in gemini in 2nd house could suggest love through the Internet. I met my present boyfriend in this way and been with him for over two years now. I have always found it easier to start relationships online before meeting. It's nice to think I could make money through communications. Like I said, I have always been drawn to writing and very attracted to the likes of copywriting, freelance writing and features writing.
It is great to hear I could make a good counsellor. If only I could get into this field without spending a fortune!
Antiques, interesting. I am attracted to things with historical and sentimental value. I may be young but I like collecting vinyl records...Maybe this is influenced a little by taurus on the second house cusp. Hmmm, working in an archive could be cool. I guess this could be considered a capricorn related field...
Thanks again. The things you have shared are very helpful.
