prerna,
The major long lasting transits (planets in the sky) you have right now is transiting Pluto (transformation, also power) square (energy needs to be combined with) birth Pluto and opposite (energy is over-excited by) Saturn (duty, also structure). Pluto transits "blow things up" and then let us piece together what is left over. The result is to increase our power, but the experience is very difficult. This Pluto transit is very powerful (since it affects itself) and can cause great tension (because of the challenges with Saturn). Take it one day at a time: this is a long transit.
Daily,
Tim
Prerna,
From a psychological perspective it would seem that you have entered a crisis of faith. Everything you see and everyone you know are in the process of being re-evaluated by you, kind of like a delayed Saturn return.
You asked “does Saturn really effect?” The short answer to this is no. From a physical perspective none of the planets have any known effect on us physically. One of the reasons for this is that the planets are placed in a symbolic zodiac; this means that the planets are not actually in the sky constellations with which we incorrectly associate with the zodiac. There is an old saying that goes ‘as it is above, so it is below; as it is below, so it is above.’ This quote comes from the Emerald tablet ascribed to one Hermes Trismegistus. The theory is that we are all connected, the universe is the macrocosm and the earth/person is the microcosm. This interconnectedness means we are all made of the same stuff and are equally subject to the same natural laws; at least the physical laws of movement, cause & effect etc. Therefore, that which is above reflects that which is below; and that which is below, reflects that which is above. This means that if we can learn the story of what is going on above, we can with pronoia understand what is going on below. It is just a simple reflexion of God’s divine plan; learn the language and the secrets are unlocked.
You may often hear the words ‘the stars impel, not compel.’ This is utter rubbish for two reasons: 1) any physical matter that is capable of reaching earth from the planets is either magnetic or radioactive. The truth is that your tv, cell-phone or microwave cooker gives us about a million times more magnetism and radioactivity than even the strongest planet can. By that reasoning, your cell-phone will have more effects on your life/future than any planet is capable of: 2) The planets are not in the physical zodiac because the physical zodiac does not exist, it is an imaginary zodiac put in place by early astronomers/astrologers in order to predict the seasons. The rising of Sirius coinciding with the flooding of the Nile is one early example.
Back to your life, what is God’s divine plan from the moment of your birth?
This is something I do not have the time to produce online because many hours of study and notes are needed. However, I can look at a couple of his sub-plans that will have a strong impact in your life.
Firstly, I would like to say that your chart carries the same circumstances that are present in every chart. We all have strong planets that may need taming, and we all have weak planets that could do with a little reinforcement. In the words of the eminent psychologist Dr Carl Jung “our life’s journey is one of self integration” a blending together of all our parts in a process called self actuation.
It is quite coincidental that you should mention or ask about Saturn’s influence in your life. Saturn in your chart is under a lot of stress which makes your particular goals and achievements harder to obtain than it can be for others. He brings you much in the way of responsibility to yourself and your family, asking that you take on responsibilities early in your life by looking after others and upholding your share of responsibility towards the family. Psychologically, Saturn asks that you keep your emotions in check, not expressing your true thoughts and desires until the emotional cork comes out and an explosion takes place. It would seem that sometimes you hesitate to do or say things, whereas at other times you speak or act too quickly causing some regrets afterwards.
Saturn can indeed be a hard taskmaster but it should not be forgotten that many Moons ago there was a feast held in Saturn’s honour, this feast was called Saturnalia, and it was held as an honour to Saturn for fertility, harvest, wealth and general good times. If we can show Saturn’s best side he does bestow his gifts which are not quickly made and quickly broken, Saturn’s gifts usually last a lifetime and beyond. It may seem quite negative to you that he brings sorrow, broken relationships, losses in reputation and ill health but I believe this is a conditioning that people can and often do expect the worst, thereby inviting misery into our lives. If one wants to get the best out of Saturn one has to learn his discipline. The positive process of Saturn is carefulness, patience, perseverance, honesty, sincerity, support or a good shoulder to cry on are some of his fine attributes. When one employs as many of these attributes as they can into their psyche, Saturn does bring rewards. Firstly, he offers more opportunities and better prospects, then he offers experiences where one can show patience, then maybe he’ll offer opportunities of trust such as looking after someone etc…Each little test he sets us can bring us one step up the ladder or cause us to fall down; the choice remains ours.
Earlier I mentioned a crises of faith. This is where I would say you are at the moment, finding it hard to believe in yourself, or others. During Saturn’s return it probably felt like someone pulled the rug from under your feet, stripped you bare and highlighted all your faults and insecurities. The culmination of this was probably at home and with your family. This caused you to be aware of things that you did not like nor perhaps wanted to hear but they were necessary for growth. Unfortunately, you had no control over these circumstances and it left you feeling pretty much unloved or unwanted. You are now on a new learning cycle and you are seeing life through different eyes, more honestly.
At the present time you are wondering what you are and what you are here for and you have probably been left feeling very alone and any way forward would be too hard. Everything seems to be a struggle with little or no reward. The good news is that this phase has all but past now and things will begin to look brighter for you quite soon. You will be given many opportunities to put things right, accept the things you cannot change, leave the past behind and move forward. I see the possibility of a new and very good relationship coming your way before the year is over. Also there will be an improvement in your finances during or very soon after September 07. Following this you will have things go your way for a while but you must make the most of them because during the next couple of years there is a strong possibility that you will set up home elsewhere and build a pretty good life for yourself.
My only advice would be to use this time now to focus on what you really want out of life, and accept that your beliefs do not have to follow a traditional path, you are truly getting to know yourself now for the first and only time in your life. Try to focus on how you can make your life better for the time being, learn to have some faith in yourself and fate will lend a helping hand.
Good wishes,
Bob

excellent explanation of the Saturn Return!
excellent explanation of the Saturn Return!
Thankyou Kimbermoon,
It did seem to be the main theme. Prerna having a Cancer ascendant with a Leo Sun meant that as Saturn returned it crossed prerna's ascendant followed by a crossing of his/her Sun. A triple handful that would test even the toughest of us I think. Fortunately, it is good that Kronos leaves Leo soon and things should lighten up a little.
Thanks again

Hi Prerna,
What you seem to be suggesting by ‘keeping my sanity’ is a distortion within your psyche. This means that an emotional problem is leaking over into your conscious mind leading you to be inundated with thoughts and feelings which you have trouble understanding or dealing with. It is very important that you do not think this is your own doing or that other people do not go through these same complexes from time to time. As we get older these things do seem to blend together with age, wisdom and experience, it is natures way of taking care of itself.
It would be highly inappropriate to peel away your psyche and psychological make-up on an open forum, but I will try to help you understand a little more about what is going on. If you feel that you are in need of some external help it might be wise for you to see your doctor or a trained psychologist to help you pinpoint what is really troubling you; and whether it is necessary for you to be taking some short term medication.
In my previous posts I spoke in relation to the hangover you are going through relative to the effects of you passing through a return of Saturn to its natal position. I was also taking into account your profected ascendant coming to Aries on 1st August 06 until 2nd of August 07 and the releasing of your Lot of Fortune being in Cancer as the main period and handing over to Mars presently. The reason I used these particular methods was because they are all related to your physical body/your life. As kimbermoon pointed out, I described the basic approach of a Saturn return which brought a cloud over your life in 2003 that has hung around until now. This cloud will start lifting slowly and will be gone by September 07 allowing you to be who you want to be, without anguish. For the time being there is no need to investigate Saturn further because his influence over your life is growing less each day.
Mercury in Cancer can be problematic as it unites thoughts with emotions which can be good when well placed or unstable when poorly placed. Although Mercury is not the strongest placement in your chart he does come out as the overall chart ruler and is actually not too badly placed. He has a fine mutual reception with the Moon by rulership and face (decan) and he has a mutual reception by bound (term) with Jupiter. Because of this strength I would need to look at the Mercury releasing phases to see what he is up to. Suffice to say, it does give stability, optimism, good mental expansion through advanced learning and good fortune following your Saturn return. In general a good steady mind that should eventually learn how to handle that wild Mars.
This now brings me to the root of your dilemma Mars. Mars holds a superior position in respect of Mercury and can be considered to be the main player in your presently troubled mind. In your chart he has control of Saturn. What does this mean? It means that until you get a handle on controlling him, he will present you with many situations in your life in which you come into conflict, verbal and/or physical. You could be forgiven into thinking that Mars is in Aries, a sign that he rules so he must be good. In your chart this is not the case; yes he is ‘strong’ in his diurnal rulership sign but he is far from happy. Because of his strength he is capable of producing his effects with greater ease. Think of the Greek god Ares, what turns him on? How do you think he would act if he had no-one to answer to and was in a bad mood? He has no conscience, he does not care about feelings, he cares little for rights and wrongs or fairness. This Arian Mars is in a sign that loves a challenge, in the 10th house, conjunct the Mc, and he makes his own rules. He has just about all the strength he could get, but to be happy he must be operating in his own environment.
Mars is above the horizon in a nocturnal chart (above the asc/desc axis = out of sect) where the world imposes restrictions on him. Mars really does not like being told what to do, how to do it or where it must be done. This strong Mars wants to be seen and respected for his strength, conquests and achievements but receives harsh punishments for his actions. Run-ins with the authorities are likely and in your place of work, you would definitely produce your best work when left alone to do things in your own way. Eight signs away from your Mars in Aries is Mars’s other sign of Scorpio indicating that your Mars can cause difficult romantic breaks, possible difficulties concerning children and breaks with the parents. This is only one of the sect considerations, I would have liked to see where else he is putting his influence but time forbids, sorry.
Unfortunately, this is all I have time for, for the time being. Depending upon your level of astrological knowledge, you may or may not understand some of the terminology I have used. I included the technical data so other astrophiles would understand how I came to these conclusions. The answer with this Mars is to think carefully about the actions you take and the consequences they may have. The end of the Saturn return period gives a new start in life where we have only just come of age, astrologically. You should use this period to improve yourself, your surroundings and your position in life. Take some advanced education if possible; if not then just improve your life in whatever way you can. To help Mars behave you need to let him loose in the right ways. If you are female you will most likely experience these things through your partners but if you are male you need to burn off some energy on a regular basis. Mars is only happy when he is in a commanding position and in total control so sports could be a good outlet for competitiveness. One medical consequence that is present at the moment is, your mind is being massively over stimulated and possibly needs a little slowing down for the time being. Herbs such as Chamomile, Valerian, Wild Lettuce, Passion Flower, Kava-Kava and Blue Lotus are all very good for calming the mind. Kratom is currently under general medical review in most countries for its pain killing and sedative properties. A visit to a local ‘qualified’ herbalist may be very good for you which I would highly recommend.
Good wishes,
Bob
Maybe someone else could pick up the T-Square of Mercury/Asc to Mars and Uranus; and the Venus Neptune square for you.
