Is There A Link Between the Environment and Autism?

I discovered the disturbing article According to CDC Study, One in 150 Children Has Autism (http://autism.about.com/b/a/257740.htm) on About.com (http://www.about.com/) this morning after my mother had already informed me of the new autism study that she had heard on the news this morning. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the exact time this conversation took place, as I still attempting to fully wake up. When I heard my mother come downstairs again, I told her of this article and thought the moment to be significant enough to create a chart. I did not really have a specific question in mind, although if I had to translate my racing thoughts into something more coherent, I would ask this: Is There A Link Between the Environment and Autism?

I will attempt my own interpretation of this chart when I return from school today.

EDIT: Interestingly enough, the horary Ascendant (11 Pisces 52) is conjunct my brother's natal Ascendant (10 Pisces 59) within one degree; the horary Midheaven (20 Sagittarius 20) is also conjunct my brother's natal Midheaven (19 Sagittarius 51) with an even tighter orb. The horary Mars is located at 17 Capricorn 33, conjunct my brother's natal Mars at 14 Capricorn 28 and his natal Moon at 15 Capricorn 06.

Don't even get me started on this! My brother had a severe reaction to a DPT shot he received when he was several months old, and my parents are convinced that this had a major influence on his autism. Mercury was taken out of vaccines years later, although the government insists that it has no correlation to autism...:rolleyes:

I am signified by dignified Jupiter in Sagittarius, angular in the tenth house and conjunct the Midheaven. I am an amateur horary astrologer at best, yet I find it odd that I would be signified by the same planet as the government, for I strongly believe the medical authorities know something about autism that they are not revealing to the general public. Sagittarius also rules the ninth house, although I am unsure if this is significant. Jupiter is separating from a square aspect from Uranus and Venus is separating from a tight square with Jupiter. I have read that the planet Uranus, although not used in traditional astrology, is associated with autism, yet I have never been diagnosed with autism. Gemini rules the third house cusp, however, and its ruler Mercury is in its detriment and fall in Pisces in the twelfth house, which is very much associated with unknown and secret things. I would certainly say autism falls into this category. I think it is interesting that the modern ruler of the Ascendant, Neptune, is conjunct the Sun--clearly this is a chart with a very Neptunian/Piscean theme. The conjunction opposes retrograde Saturn in Leo in the sixth house, and since the Sun and Saturn are in mutual reception, this chart reminds me of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction I was born with. Saturn is in my sixth house, which seems appropriate except for the fact that I am not particularly concerned about my own health in this question. The sixth is the turned fourth house for my brother and the twelfth is the turned tenth, and the symbolism of Saturn here makes me think that there are restrictions in my brother's inner world, or perhaps autism is indeed somehow in my family's genetic makeup. Saturn is obviously debilitated here, which concerns me...or perhaps this indicates the opposite of my previous thought and my brother's inner world is not as limited as others may think? Either way, it is clear that he projects the Neptunian persona to the world (his turn tenth house); Neptune's conjunction with the Sun may even symbolize that this is part of his identity, although my brother is not symbolized by the Sun.

As an afterthought, I am also cosignified by Mars in Capricorn since Aries is intercepted in the first house, located in the eleventh house of friends and "hopes and wishes." I certainly wish to learn more about the nature of autism in order to help my brother. Although autism is not exactly a physical disease, I think it is interesting that the Moon is located in my eighth house , which is his turned sixth, in its fall in the sign of Scorpio.

I apologize for my rambling, yet it is difficult for me to focus my mind to answer this question.
