Would anyone have a good explanation of this North Node position? I have a hard time understanding exactly what it means.

My first stab was---inner security by means of developing intuition and higher knowledge?

Hi LC

Not that I'm any good at these, but I'll have a stab...

What about (and these are just ideas without anything to back them up. If I cause offense NONE is intended.)

Needing to explore your cultural hisotry (were your ancestors way way back immigrants or religious)? Looking deep within to find security, to give you the parenting you need? Perhaps your ancestors were wanderers and now its time to look for ways to put down roots?

Just ideas. I'm sure someone will come along with something more helpful, but I needed to try this.

take care

Thanks for the response, Light.

I'm of mixed ethnicity, but I do know one side of my family came to the USA from Europe right before the turn of the 20th century. The other side, I dont' know a whole lot about, but maybe I should explore!

A lot of what you say rings true for me. I'm going to keep on researching, and if something pops up that stands out, I'll post it on this thread.

Thanks again.

my 2 cents:

As in dealing with the houses of the chart, the Nodes cannot really be understood alone, they must be considered as a polarity, in opposition to the other, representing the AXIS OF FATE.

Since not everyone has a professional life, the 10th must then be understood with deeper meaning. The Axis of fate is about where we have been and where we are going. From this perspective I see the 10th as the house of Destiny- where we are going.

from notes I have gathered on North Node in Sagittarius:

The polarity between the 4th and 10th houses represents the necessary balancing between one's 'home&family and reputation or career'. With the South Node in the 10th: possible 'loss of position through treachery' in other words, in whatever public endeavors you pursue you would have to be totally above board to avoid being the target of enmity which could mar your reputation or position.

In contrast the North node in the 4th would typically suggest encouragement and supportive influences from the family. Joined with Neptune however, there is a suggestion of karmic/inherited tendencies that have to do with moral or religious secrets from the past. Perhaps confusion about your true cultural roots. When reconciled, the North Node promises the potential for great spiritual awareness in this life.

That's interesting, because I'd always read that South Node (in my case, the 10th house and Gemini) is where we're coming from, and the North Node where we should be heading to?

Am I totally off on this?

sorry: clarification
Indeed you are correct : the North Node - where we are going the South - where we have been.
I was proposing that in addition to the Axis of Fate, the 10th house also relates to where we are going as the House of Destiny.

Sometimes the Nodes will fall across the 4th/10th which then seems to blend in more naturally to the concept of 'where we are going and where we have been', but this is not always the case and in such cases, further clarification can be revealed through the 10th as well as the NODES.

The South Node is where we are coming from, yet it also relates to the many pitfalls and self-sabotage that can occur in the 'undeveloped personality' who has not yet recognized what the South Node indicates. The South Node tells us what needs to be 'released' in this lifetime but we are not always aware of what such blockages are about, so we are bound to repeat the mistakes of the past

Indeed the North Node tells of our 'potentials' yet unless we know what these potentialities might be they may remain hidden as 'latent potentialities' which may not always manifest in one's lifetime.

Sorry for any confusion.
By the way what do you think about the concept of 'where we have been'?
What does that mean to you?
Interested in your perspective on that.

Wow, I totally slipped on responding to this question. Sorry about that!

I always see "where we have been" as where we have been throughout our past lives. Could each life our souls experience compound into one big "south node," which may take on a different trait through each incarnation we are born into? I think so.

Did that answer your question?
