This tragedy has struck close to home. One of the 4 killed was my best friends brother-in-law, her sisters husband. He was working on the propane tank at the time of the explosion. She called me last night to ask the question “did he suffer?” I was so floored to find so much information in this chart. I turned the chart 7th from the 3rd to find his significator. H10 has Gemini on the cusp and Mercury bumps to the 6th house. So that falls right into place. I believe he was in respritory distress before the explosion occurred and that he did not suffer as there is a trine from Mercury to the MC, and sextile to mars in H4. He did have burns on his body but not horribly bad, mostly on his stomach I guess. The 6th house has aquarius on the cusp and Uranus is there, in pisces of course, so that tells me there was a sudden surge of liquid (propane) square MC Gemini (air fumes), then it squares the ascendant and right down to Jupiter in H3. This is the ignition point. It isn’t quite close enough to move to the 4th house so I think the spark came from a vehicle, probably a larger one like a truck. Is it possible that he knew it was coming and tried to get away? I wonder because of mercury being his significator. Even if I turn the chart again, 4th from the 10th (which I don’t like to do too much in one chart) it’s Virgo, so Mercury again, It doesn’t make a difference. Anyway, the question was “Did he suffer” I think he didn’t, I’m sure I missed some things, I have a hard time reading stuff like this when it’s so upsetting to me personally, and my friend and her family are so devastated. There isn’t a lot of background information to give but I will post the link to the story on usatoday.com. Thanks so much for your time.

Dear Virgo96019,

I am so sorry to hear of your friend's loss. It struck very close to home for me, as well - literally. I almost made a post about it, too, when I read it yesterday. I don't know why I thought to, but I just felt such a vibrational connection to it.

Everytime I read one of Belgianmoonguy's posts, I would think of that town. I thought several times about dropping him a note and telling him that there was a town near me called Ghent, as well - more than likely named after his hometown. I live in a small rural town. If we want to buy anything other than what Wal-mart carries, we pretty much have to drive to the largest city (if you want to call it that) near us. Ghent is a small town right outside of that city. It is most recognized for a ski resort located there. I have shopped at that gas station on more than one occasion.

I also was very vibrationally drawn to the word "Ghent" for the past couple of weeks. I'm thinking maybe I was psychically picking up on the disaster - as I've had this happen in the past.

A few years ago, my oldest daughter used to work at a gas station/convenience store in the same general area. A similiar disaster almost occurred there when a tractor-trailer lost control and careened through the parking lot, just missing the gas tanks. It was very close. It wound up being comparatively minor damage - with it just damaging several of the cars, including my daughter's. But if the truck had come closer to the gas tanks - it would have been a whole different outcome. Perhaps that is why it struck me so hard.

When I read the news of this on MSN, I was just too horrified for words, and began sending white light for peace and comfort to all of the families involved. I didn't know it was for some of your near and dear, Virgo96019. It's a small world.

I don't have anything to add about the chart. However, I did want to share my experience, and express my sorrow for your friend's loss. (and yours, too - a good friend's loss is our loss).

Peace,

Freedomlover

You got that right!!!!! But out of curiosity, anything specific you are referring to? We could probably dedicate a whole thread to the subject of suspicious incidents in this state. Hey, that's an idea! I can name two right off the top of my head - and again within 50 miles of me.

As to the bunkers, are you kidding? Check out this site. Perhaps they're making this known to throw people off the scent that they're building new ones in the same area. (You know, the theory that they will never think to look for it right under their nose.)

Thank you freedomlover and 2rainbows. It seems like there has been so much tragedy everywhere. Even in my immediate circle there has been deaths, accidents, and illnesses one right after the other. I don't know what's going on in the universe, maybe a Uranus lockdown. It goes to show that anything can happen at anytime...scary. I think maybe we should all get our own bunkers and hide out for a while.

Freedomlover I wanted to add that I get drawn to things like that too. One in particular was a sign for an elementary school that every so often we would pass while driving when I was little, nothing major but it always caught my eye in a strange way. It was pretty far away from where I lived growing up. 5 years ago my husband and kids moved and the school my kids were to be enrolled in was that school on the sign. This was a definate life changing move for all of us, especially with my kids education...their school distict ranks 5th in the state and I cannot tell you how far my daughter has come with her learning disability since being here. She isn't in elemenatary school anymore but if it wasn't for the teachers in that school she would be doomed right now.

On my way to work after I posted this chart I realized that turning the chart again 4th from 10th shows he died when he went airborne and hit the ground. The square from jupiter to uranus, fire to propane and gas, uranus to mc, threw him into the air, and MC to Asc, air to earth. That would explain the minimal burns to his body. We won't know for sure until the reports are finished. The chart shows exactly what happened that day, I just wish I was a better horary reader.

Virgo96019,

I ran across this article from the local paper, and thought I would post it for you. I didn't know how much news you got on it from a local level.

Violet Baldwin remembers dispatching the initial call of the gas leak that preceded last week’s explosion that rocked the Ghent community to the core.

“I saw it on the news (at home later that evening), and around 8:00, I just lost it,” she said of that day. “I broke down. I thought, ‘Oh my God. I sent those people there.’”

“... I couldn’t eat for two hours. I just sat and watched the TV. My boyfriend came in and said I should just lay down and relax. I lost it and cried myself to sleep.”

The telecommunicators of the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center recalled the horror of the 911 calls and radio traffic of Jan. 30, the day of the Ghent Little General explosion that killed four and left five seriously injured. They remembered taking countless calls of those in distress and working to get them needed help as quickly as possible. Despite horrifying conditions and some of them having family in the Ghent area, the women had to remain calm and remember they had a job to do — a dire one.

Meta Shumate, the supervisor on duty at the time of the explosion, is a nine-year veteran. Sharon Coffee, another telecommunicator who was on duty, is a 10-year veteran. Baldwin has five years under her belt, and India Blake is the newest with three months. Two others worked to help — one was called in and another who heard of what happened came in when finished with jury duty.

Even the seasoned veterans said they had never dealt with a situation of that magnitude until last week.

“It was pretty bad, this one ...” Shumate said. “I don’t know how to express it. We had the snowstorm in 1998 and floods in 2001, but nothing with this many fatalities and injuries at one time.”

As soon as the explosion hit, calls began to pour into the EOC, they said. Residents, some of whom had windows broken out of their homes, wanted to know if they should evacuate. Parents with children at Ghent Elementary School wanted to know if their children were OK. Emergency service workers were calling, wanting to verify what happened or just wanted to know what was happening, period.

“People were afraid,” Shumate said. “... Some were petrified, screaming. They wanted to know what in the world was going on. Some had felt it or had windows busted out.’

“... One firefighter or EMT came over the radio screaming. I will never forget that. These guys are usually very calm. If they’re not calm, you know it’s a bad situation.”

The telecommunicators said they had no time to react, no time to reflect. Calls were coming in so quickly — and they were having to make calls to emergency service agencies at the same rate — that they had no time to do so. They also had no real time to reassure people on the other end of the line; they could only tell people help was on the way and send it. This aspect was frustrating for them.

“You wondered who was in there, if you had time to register a thought,” Shumate said. “I’m from Cool Ridge, and India has family out there. I went to school with Fred Burroughs (a Ghent volunteer firefighter killed), and I briefly met both of the guys working on the tanks (Jeff Treadway and Glenn Bennett) because both of my sons worked for Appalachian Heating.”

“It didn’t register with me that my brother lives out there until we slowed down,” Blake said.

“... You have to be calm, and hysterical people cannot tell you anything,” Shumate said.

“There’s no time to get excited,” Coffee said.

“You’re trained, and that just kicks in,” Baldwin said.

Teamwork helped the women get through the flood of calls, they said. An alarm room worker and a custodian jumped in, helping to call utility companies, EOC Director Jack Bowden and radio stations, and the custodian was especially helpful because she brought water to the telecommunicators. Among all other calls, emergency service workers from several nearby counties like Mercer, Summers and Kanawha called, offering assistance.

“We were amazed at how everything just happened,” Baldwin said. “... People called from all over offering to help.”

When phone and radio traffic slowed down for Blake, reaction began to set in because of her family in the Ghent area. For the others, it set in when they arrived at their homes that evening.

“I must have walked 5 miles around my house, raking my hands through my hair,” Shumate said.

The next work day was a somber one as well, but the telecommunicators said they could not miss work.

“For the firefighters and EMS workers, it was worse,” Shumate said. “We had to do it.”

“We all teared up, but we had to go right back to work,” Coffee said. “I think it would be harder if we took one day to think.”

Monday morning, a firefighter who was on the scene came into the EOC, Baldwin said. The man was too emotional to speak, so he had a friend speak for him. Through his friend, he expressed his gratitude for all the work done by the telecommunicators that day, and he gave the women hugs.

Despite the events of last Tuesday, Raleigh County’s telecommunicators say they still have a love of their job and working to help others. But they noted the day reinforces the fact that a “routine” day can turn into the exact opposite in a split second.

“No matter what shift, you have to be ready for something like that at any time,” Shumate said.
Also, I was talking to a girl who works at the Little General in the town I live in. She said that the two stores were owned by the same people. She said that the bread man who stocked both stores told them that he had literally just left the Ghent store when it blew up. He had just driven out of harm's way when he felt the explosion. The girl also said that one of the colleges had a seismograph machine and that it measured 2 point -something on the Richter scale, from that far away. It was either West Virginia Tech, or Virginia Tech (she couldn't remember which one, but they're both about equal distant away - at least an hour or so drive). When I went into the local Little General, there were black wreaths on all the doors with black ribbons saying "In memory of Ghent" on them. It's so sad and at the same time terrifyingly stunning how things can change so quickly. How is your friend doing, Virgo96019?

Hi Freedomlover! I was tearing up when I read that. It's unbelievable. My friend called me on Monday, they had his service and he was buried in his jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket, just like wanted. They were all in good spirits when I was talking to her. I know she'll have a lot to tell me when she gets back to NY. There is a lot of support there she has a huge family, lots of brothers and sisters. I am sure she would want me to thank you for asking about her.

You are right about one thing he did go airborne, it through him about 50 feet but at this point I still don't know if it's the blast that killed him.

I am so glad to hear from you! I hope you are doing ok! I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't been on the forum much in a couple of weeks, somethig told me to check the posts, I'm glad I did. I am going to call so I can get more details.
Horary isn't exactly my area of expertise, but feel that this chart shows exactly what happened to him, and the sequence of events that lead up to the explosion. Althougth I have a pretty good idea of what happened, I'm not sure if I can actually put it all together.
There are a few different ways we can get some answers and some peace of mind, you'll be hearing from me soon!
