I am always a bit reluctant to clutter the Horary Astrology Board with personal questions, but I thought this chart may be an interesting exercise in locating a missing item.

Perhaps I week or more ago, I had misplaced the small battery to the digital camera I had received for Christmas after removing it from the recharger. I idly wondered its location throughout this time, but I did not think to ask a horary question until the date and time of the chart below. I also noted the location as well as the date and time I discovered the battery, but I do not wish to reveal this information yet.

I would like learn the various approaches one would use to answer the following questions:

How much time elapsed between the asking of this question and the finding the item in question?
Using the answer of the previous question, what date and time did I find the battery?
Describe its location.
Was the item where I thought it would be? Was it in an obvious or less than obvious place?

I will attempt to study this chart myself, yet I do not wish to post my interpretation as I have a slight advantage in knowing the final outcome...

Hi Beth,

I have been watching for a response on this thread. I have read some of the other earlier Horary questions and have marveled at how time and location have been found. So, I was sitting back waiting to be enlightened.

I am very concerned about any ablility I have to answer a Horary question. So, I will step out into the light and prove my inablility for the world to see... Hopefully, someone can come on and show me my errs.

Here goes

The Ascendent is very early. This would show that it is either to early to ask the question or the querent did not "focus" on the question or tampered with it in some way. In this case, I believe the question was asked too early, due to an additional unexpected event still lhad to occur. This is also a suggestion of, "don't worry about it" and the battery was found very quickly after the question was asked. (within 24 hours)

Your sig is Mercury found in the 5th very close to the Sun. This is why it was not easy for you to recall where the battery was absent mindedly placed.

The question is represented by the 7th in Pisces. The sig for the battery is then Jupiter found in the 4th. Traditionalist look the other way... note that Uranus (technology) is square Jupiter( battery sig) in the home of the parents. The 4th is important in this Horary. It represents literally your parent's home. Also, the fourth represents reflection (moon energy=reflection=camera) Between Mercury (you) and and Jupiter (the battery) we find the Moon. The Moon could be your cosig, but this is not an emotional question. So, here I go, bringing it home.....

You weren't too worried about the battery, in fact when you asked the question you were already toying with getting a replacement. The battery was not in it's original location because Mom was housecleaning ( the battery = Jupiter... and counting 2 houses to the position of moveable possessions, it the 6th house) The Moon is intrumental because of the 29 degree and conjunct Mars (action). Here comes the wild card, Was it put back into the camera? Moon and Mars in the same house as the battery?

Okay, that should once and for all prove how novice I really am with Horarys.

hi, i will try to put what i've studied into practice, since i am really new to hoary, i ask everybody to forgive me if i make ridiculous mistakes. Beth is represented by Mercury, the lost battery belongs to Beth, so the significator of the 2nd is also Mercury, the same significators of querent and quesited mean that there is tight link between the two---it is Beth who has misplaced it, not by anybody else. Mercury is in the 5th in Aquarius, airy sign has something to do with air, evaporation. 5th has something to do with beauty and decoration. the dispositor of Mercury is Saturn in the 12th retrograded in Leo, sign of beauty and decoration as well, this shows that the battery is covered up or hidden (12th) behind something nice or decorative. Moon separates from 12th Saturn as well shows the hiding-up. but Moon is at 29 Sag. applying to Mars, ruler of 9th, Jupiter and 9th have something to do with travelling and exoticism. Leo and Aqurius are both fixed sign---something hard. I am thinking about the bottle of foreign (brand, flavor) parfum of Beth. is the battery somehow hidden behind it, or in a travelling bag with a bottle of parfum? Moon is in angle applying to Mars, so it should be very rapid to find back the battery, one degree difference, maybe 1 hour after the loss. i don't use modern planets as all since i don't know how to use them. just a try to learn more from others. here's one to laugh at, I certianly can't answer all 4 questions, my track record isn't that great! this is completely off the wall I'm sure, but I'm using the second house for the battery, merc is in the 5th and thats reminds me of your musical instrument, and capricorn could represent a suitcase soooooo maybe it was in your instrument case?...don't laugh too hard!

I'm going to use my special way for this, sounds fun! ^.^

#1 My first couple of rounds on this one gave me mixed results. Doing the Ascendant ruler from Pluto gave me a 133° difference, so I took this as 133 minutes passing between the time of loss and the time of discovery. This did not seem quite correct, so I tried again using the Moon from Pluto, this gave me two minutes, this also seemed like quite a bit of stretch to believe. Trying a third probable method I came up with 7 minutes, as Pluto is but 7° from a Trine with Eris, the ruler of the Asc.

#2 Tuesday, January 16th, 9:40pm, 8:03pm, or 8:08 pm.

#3 & #4 Whoo-hoo, locations...not fun. The first thing I see is Uranus Square the dispositor of the battery, this makes me believe the battery was not in the a place you would have thought to look. However, since Jupiter is in Sagittarius and in the fourth house, I get a very "homey" feeling, so there is no doubt that it was inside your house. Though, I must ask if the battery were in its own house. Be this inside the camera itself (as wintersprite1 pointed out) or perhaps in its original packaging.

My attention is being drawn to the Moon and it's condition, so I reckon Moon co-significator of battery. Even though it is voc this could describe battery as 'unable to do anything at present.'
Moon is also besieged, which could signify battery being trapped somewhere.
Moon in Sag...somewhere warm like maybe in a hip pocket.
Possibly in a child's room or bedroom, because Mercury (sig) in fifth also signifies same area.
Found? Well am gonna go for 8.35pm on the 16th.Jan.

Okay, I reviewed some tutorials and will try again playing by the rules.

The Asc is in Virgo as is the second house (moveable object). Both Beth and the battery are signified by Mercury found in the 5th. The Sun is orbed widely to create a combust situation. Since the Sun is a close aspect we need to look at the mutual reception of Sun in Cap and Saturn in Leo (and detriment) The battery is hidden within the "reach of" Beth, probably in an area that is shared with a sibling. The Moon being the Cosig of Beth, we see that it is one degree away from changing signs. So, I will say that the battery was found within one hour of asking the question.

The first attempt was funner and felt more right.

I apologize for my inattention to this thread; since my procrastination was mostly due to my anxiety of answering each specific post, which was my original intention when I created this thread, I will give a brief description of my experience with the misplaced camera battery until I find time to respond in more detail.

As the horary chart indicates, I thought of the question at 8:01 PM in my time zone; if I remember correctly, I was in the kitchen upstairs and noted the time on the digital clock on the stove. The process of creating the chart must have triggered something in my memory, for I searched for the battery in the original box the digital camera came in and found it among many instruction manuals, cables, and accessories. This occurred at 8:08 PM, exactly seven minutes later. The box containing the battery was not located in the same room in which I first thought to ask this question, but it was on the computer desktop to my left, a place where I spend a great majority of my time.

Indeed, it later occurred to me that this seems like an obvious place for me to store my camera battery with the two exceptions of in the camera battery charger and inside the camera. However, since I do not generally store most of the essential equipment in the case, I do look inside this box unless something is missing.

I had misplaced the camera battery while tidying the area surrounding my computer desktop, include the desktop itself.

I would like to thank everyone who has responded to this thread or has simply been watching from afar. Please feel free to post any additional questions or comments about the chart here! ;)

:p it was right there.... almost everyone posting mentioned Aquarius in 5th, the role of Uranus. And not noticed was Mercury in Aquarius in the 5th.

Aquarius (technology and friendships) in the 5th (socializing) with Mercury in the 5th (communication)And your Sig. and the constant mention of Uranus ( Technology, the planet of the astrologer) Duh, the computer desk!!!!

Obsessing over here...

I love how Kaiousei no Senshi came to the 7 minutes. I tried again using just the traditional planets. Both you and the battery are Mercury being combust by the Sun. Mercury has no aspect until the Sun conjuncts in 6 and a half degrees. Between 6 and 7 minutes.

Ahhhh, hindsight.

Well, we're told to keep it simple in horary....and it couldn't have been more so in this instance.

Mercury does trine 10th house (where one works) and also Merc being in Air sign signifies upper parts, although you say Beth not in same room as when you asked question. So was it upstairs?

Kaiousei got the timing right...well done!

Ruby.
