Revenge

I was unsure where to post this, so I chose Karma. What governs or predicts the taking of revenge? Anybody got any pet theories or some traditional knowledge?

I am at a loss on where I got this information..... It may have been some 20 or so years ago.... Alan Leo? Linda Goodman? Robert Hand? Revenge is found in the sign Scorpio... I believe it is in the 8th house also. This would be a well calculated revenge, not a firey knee jerk reaction.

I think revenge can come in lots of forms. Some people are blatantly straightforward with their revenge and a woman might take revenge on a cheating husband by burning his clothes, or trying to humiliate him in some way. Or by cheating herself in revenge.

There can be also be a more subtle revenge like withholding affection, or sex from a partner if the you feel the partner has wronged you. But then again maybe this is classed as inflicting a kind of punishment on the partner for doing wrong.

I am probably finding it hard to class what is revenge. For instance if a friend has let me down I will think to myself - the next time they want something from me I won't do it. Is this revenge on a person, or a type of punishment, or just a taste of their own medicine. It probably all depends on how you look at it.

Astrological indicators probably Pluto/Scorpio/8th house indications as was said above. I had an ex partner who had a Scorpio Moon he would never forget anything you had said or done to him. He would bring things up I couldn't even remember saying.

My brother has a Scorpio Moon too and he was very broody and would remember ever imagined wrong doing to him. But would conveiniently forget the mean things he would do to others. A typical double standard. :rolleyes:

We all have Scorpio somewhere in our chart so we are all capable of revenge some may be more destructive in their revenge than others, like gang people who shoot each other out of revenge.

I think with a strong Scorpio/Pluto/8th house like say you have a Scorpio Moon there could have been past lives where you were betrayed by someone close to you. So this type of person is very sensitive to clues that they might be betrayed again almost paranoid. They probably carry the deep pain of experiencing a betrayal and so they may have the mentality - I will get you before you get me.

So yes probably the Scorpio energy would most likely take revenge.

I agree, but think Taurus should be included, as well and can also be quite vengeful.

I have both Taurus/Scorpio signigficant planets, and if I am purposely done wrong, I take revenge to the extreme. Accidents, however, are generally forgiven.

I also love revenge-themed movies, books, etc...

But, as far as motivation goes, it is more of a karma thing.... me ensuring that someone proverbially 'gets theirs' for intentionally violating me. I seldom initiate. My theory is akin to the immortal words of 50 Cent, 'Don't start nothin', won't be nothin.'
