prerequisites for chart patterns

I was wondering if there were any general prerequisites known for the many different chart patterns. I have a Splay chart and am looking for certin aspects accompany my chart pattern. IE a certin amount of Stelliums, elements etc.

Splay Chart,Bucket,Bowl etc.
