I have never met my father but tried to find him 20 years ago and found his family who told me my father did not want to meet me.

Since then I had been to a psychic who told me my father was dead and mentioned 'drinking related'. This upset me greatly and Ive never had closure.

My question is "Is my father dead"?

please dont spare my feelings here as Im not emotionally involved with him and just would like closure

He is venus in detriment in angular 10th....one cancels out the other...neutral?
but venus is benefic.

Saturn Rx is in fourth of father and of endings.........unfavourable for life.

8th house of death ruled also by saturn....unfavourable for life sits in 4th house of father and endings. Also neptune in 8th would indicate death from drink or drug related problems or even drowning.

Im thinking its a positive for death. Am I right?

Also could anyone help me with how long ago he passed and what from If im wrong.....thanks

Hi tikana

please could you explain a little more....where does mercury come into play? ....conjoining venus?

saturn opposes venus from fourth of endings!! am I lost here?? and did you mean he has another child? what do you think his ailment might be....drinking issues (neptune in 8th)?

Teejay

mercury just separated from Venus it is still within orb that tells us your father is not dead .. plus Venus is above the horizon /... and mercury translate the light to jupiter because merc is faster than venus and jupiter

mercury usually rule young children
so he might have a child

(Following is not in accordance with standard horary delineation and uses whole sign house format)

-father significator (4th house of chart) = Scorpio = Mars
-Mars posited in angle (10th whole sign house) = + testimony for being alive
-Mars posited in its domicile (Aries) = essentially dignified = + testimony for being alive
-Mars posited in a bright degree of Aries (24th) = + testimony for being alive
-1st diurnal trigonal lord of father's 4th house (whole sign under Aquarius) = death significator (cf. Dorotheus of Sidon; Valens) = Saturn; Saturn is posited in the cadent 3rd house of the chart (- for strength of death indicator), and Saturn is retrograde (more - testimony for srtength of death indicator); Saturn in exaltation sign of Libra (+ testimony for strength of death indicator)' Saturn posited in a dark degree of Aquarius (+ testimony for strength of death indicator)

Results:
Mars (father's significator) testimonies for being alive are all +
Saturn/death indicator testimonies are evenly divided between + and - for strength of the death indicator, therefore net 0/neutral relative to strength of the death indicator

Based on the above, indications are that the querent's father is still alive as of the date of this question.

I think he is dead.
He is Ve, his 8 house is also ruled by Ve, that is testimony of death. Radical 8 house is ruled by Sa rx, Ve separate from it, he is dead.
Part of death is at 13 Ta 32, Moon separate from it, he is dead.

Hi there,

I'm with Tikana on this one, insofar as if your father is alive, he is not well.

Venus in opposition to Saturn in your father's 1st house suggests that his body is weak. Moreover, the Lord of his 6th is afflicted by conjunction to Mars.

I was having a hard time deciding whether he was alive because Lilly says:

"if [the Significator] be afflicted, or was lately in Square or Opposition of the Infortunes [Venus opposite Saturn], he was perplexed, or suffered much misery, according to the nature of the house from whence afflicted [afflicted by Saturn in first, frail body?]; but I judge him not dead, unlesse together with that mischance, the Lord of the 8th doe unfortunate him."

Now in the turned chart for the father the Lord of the 8th IS the significator, and in the radical chart the Lord of the 8th is Saturn, which opposes Venus. But, since the Lord of the 8th IS significator, there is no "together with that mischance".

The only saving grace seems to be, as Tikana said, Venus is in an angular house (though admittedly in detriment).
