I've always thought that astrology was baloney (Sun-sign astrology) until my ex-g/f introduced me to it and as I delved deeper into it I realized that my chart describes me as I am most of the times. Though it is still confusing sometimes and I do not base any predictions, expectations on astrology. Just for fun I do it though; to get a general picture.

What's up with my career? You can see the Mars, North Node and MC being involved in the tightest and very explosive configuration. Does that mean I shouldn't follow the career that I want and instead go where my parents want me to go?

I suggest this has to do with feeling a strong attraction to the outer world (a lot of energy conjunct (energy is combined with) the South node (the past) conjunct the Midheaven (outer world). However, there is a need to develop inwardly (North node (future goals) conjunct Nadir (inner world)). It is possible that your parents symbolize this outer world attachment for you.
