 Hi folks.
I was born on 2nd October 1962 in Donington, Near Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. My parents told me today that my birth time was 0930 British time but in the past they have said 0845 British time. I went on this websites link for a chart for both and they were both the same except that for ASC and MC.
What sort of careers do you think that I should consider and why? I have been working with young people for the last five years giving them various advice. Too much computer work and 'telephone tracking' now. Also too many people to work with and quality suffers. Enjoy the advice and one to one communication. Was thinking of voluntary Youth Offending Work but may be too confrontational for me? I want to consider any relevant careers where I can get job satisfaction but want to stay in that field rather than jumping from job to job as in my past.
Thanks:)

According to the Animodar method of birth time rectification, you would have been born at 8.46am. This would make you Libra rising rather than the Scorpio ascendant given by 9.30am. I'll pop back later to explain more about this.

Cheers for your quick reply Draco. Having read someone elses thread about characteristics of ascendant signs I am inclined to agree with Libra rising. I have blue eyes and they are not piercing like a Scorpio ascendants seem to be stated. I am also fairly athletic and do lots of sport.
I look forward to your advice Draco and thanks once again.

Before I go any further attempting to follow Draco's method for chart rectification in the thread Chart Rectification (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1802&page=3), I would like to ask your permission to use your chart as an example ;)

Please go ahead Arian Maverick. Although I presently spend my life giving young people advice right now I could do with guidance myself as you gathered. Thank you for replying.

Draco, perhaps can you explain how you arrived at this Ascendant?

I was trying to recreate your example using the directions provided on the Skyscript thread Rectification by Trutine of Hermes/Animodar (http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=822), yet I am arriving at a different rectified time of birth...

cheesey,

With Leo (self-expression also children) modifying North node (future goals) conjunct (energy is combined with) Midheaven (outer world), having a career helping children handle the outer world seems to go well with your chart. This is true no matter which times is chosen for calculating the chart.

Childishly,

Tim

:) Thanks for reassurance WilsonTC. So that I am not missing other options what other career areas are well aspected?

cheesey,

The sign Leo has to do with our "self-expression", so it can also have to do with being on stage somehow. This might be about literally being on stage (as in acting or performing on stage) or it might simply indicate a need to be noticed. The energy of "self-expression" is the Sun, and your Sun is focused in the 11th house (friends, also other people's self-expression), so you "shine" when you help other people to "shine". This suggests some type of teaching/assisting of others would be VERY interesting to you. So, in addition to helping children, you might pursue other helpful community projects.

Self-expressing,

Tim

:D :) Wilsontc you couldn't have summed me up any better!! Sometimes when I have bad days and the older I get I question myself more. My colleagues and young people reassure me of my skills and parts of my personality that count in working for others. Now you have put the icing on the cake. I cannot thank you enough for answering my thread and giving such clear advice.

All the very best in whatever you do and if I can be of any assistance please let me know. Mind you, if it is of an astrological nature I guess you already have the answers?!

I was going to say that a teaching or counseling position would work best for you. And don't worry because it seems that indecision is a Libra trait.

:) Thanks for reply Michelle. It is reassuring that yourself and Wilsontc have come up with the same answer. As you say the indecision is a typical Libra trait. I suppose I always have ideas of my own but constantly look for reassurance. It was interesting to read what wilsontc said. I originally thought that having so many planets in water signs might have had a bearing on career?
