View Full Version : Will I ever try an illegal drug in my life?
Question:
Will I ever try an illegal drug in my life?
(As an FYI - I never have tried an illegal drug before, am well past college/experimental age, but do have concerns as addiction does appear in my life and family quite strongly.) Nor is this question meant to advocate drug use or whatever. I am just fearful right now about the issue.
I assume this is 12th house matter?
If so - I am the Sun... in the 8th. In the 12th home sign of Pisces. If I try something - it will be for transformation, or will cause one?? (not saying a good transformation)
Issue is the Moon - in the 9th (or perhaps I would try something in an attempt to expand my horizons?) - Opposite Saturn - responsibility needs to be present and could very well stop me from going there.
Don't know how to look any deeper than this, sorry.
It's an interesting question, one I don't see tackled much on the board. In fact, I am concerned it might be a question an astrologer might shy away from on an ethical level, but am not sure on the stance on this. Or would my natal cart be a better place to look on this?
I'd love to see you guys give this a go! Thank you in advance!

(Following is not in accordance with standard horary practice and uses whole sign house format)
-my delineation is NO: however, the time period covered by horary cannot be "ever", so, following Al-Biruni's zodiacal time table and using the ascending sign, Leo, as marking the time period of the validity of this horary, I would say this answer covers the next 19 months ONLY, from the date of this question, after which the question would need to be asked again...
-you = ascendant = Leo = Sun
-"illegal drugs" (ie, "underground" type drugs, including entheogenic substances) = 12th house = Cancer = Moon significator
-Moon flows away from you (Sun) = no
-no aspect between Moon and Sun = no
-using Neptune as mind-altering substance significator (Modernist outlook here), both Sun and Moon flow away from Neptune = no (also no aspects between Neptune and Moon or Sun)
-your 6th house of health is under Capricorn, significator = Saturn;
-Moon and Saturn are in opposition: means such drugs would have significant opposition effect upon your health during the relevant time period covered by this horary
-there is a potential attraction here: Sun (you) flows toward the 12th house: remember the indications of the Moon(drugs)/Saturn(your health) opposition!
Thank you dr. farr!
Great analysis, and it was good to know that my thought process for the chart was at least on the right track for a change! LOL

Im not sure what attraction your feeling towards doing drugs. I mean I know what attractions there ARE, I just dont know which one in particular you are experiencing. But, if you've gotten through life this far without doing them, you should probably not. Doing a drug a time or two, or even casually and infrequently is one thing, but, believe me, dependancy is a whole nuther ballgame you dont want. Making sure you dont go anywhere without having some on you. Planning around what your gonna need to have. Having to get up extra early in the morning just so you have enough time to get the levels up in your system so you can begin functioning properly. It really ***** goats to have to worry if you are gonna run out, worry if your gonna be in withdrawls and have to strain and struggle to take care of your responsibilities, because life goes on and you still have to take care of business even if your in wd's...how many days in withdrawl? 1,2? Then when you ARE in withdrawl its like its neverending, even if it is just a day or two if its full blown WD's. People shouldnt be put down for it though. People do drugs for different reasons. Some people have physical injuries and have to take narcotics for chronic pain,....but the physical dependancy part is the same beast, when on high enough doses. But, sometimes high doses is the only way to lead a normal life outside of pain. Other people do drugs because they HAVE done them since they were young and ....I dont know its almost like the body-mind- everything grew around the drugs and now its needed to be normal...like medicine. Some people have a mix of both. Alot depends on what KIND of drug you are talking about as well. Some are WAY more addictive. If your curious, I understand...maybe there is nothing wrong with a little experimentation...but can you be sure you will know when to lay off? Are you sure you know that when you make that decision it wont be too late and you'll be wondering......who can I call to get enough to stretch a few more days?
And as far as the horary, Dr. Farr sounds right on it. Not that Im learned enough to even assume to check his work:) But, having a personal understanding of the subject I had to throw my 2 cents in.
isismagdalenne...Thank you for your post.
I am not feeling a particular attraction but a concern for the future given my family experiences. No worries. I appreciate all your thoughts on the matter.

I believe this falls under the realm of free will.
I believe this falls under the realm of free will.
Yes, it does - but my concern, I guess, at the heart - is my willpower.

willpower now is nothing compared to willpower after you already have addiction. without being there its something you know NOTHING about.
