Does anyone know much about shamanic astrology? In shamanic astrology people have a minor mars return around the age 30. Why are certain venus and mars returns more important than others in shamanic astrology? Does anyone know what the word sinodial means? Also can anyone explain the venus return to me in relation to the pentagram that it forms in the sky? L.

I, personally, don't know anything about Shamanic Astrology and I'm sure that you have checked out the website shamanicastrology.com. However, did you see on the site that there is a book that you can order that talks about the synodic cycles of Venus and Mars. Here is the link http://www.shamanicastrology.com/articles03.htm
Also from their site: " 'Synodic' is from the Greek word synodos, meaning meeting. I am using this word to indicate the cyclical meeting of a planet when it returns to a given starting point as seen from the Earth."
I hope this helps.

Hey, I actually read through that book before, but it left me scratching my head with more questions than anything. I hadn't looked at that website before. Thank you. I still don't understand shamanic astrology from a technical point of view, but I think I'm starting to get what the heart of it is about. That's a really good site. One of my closest friends was into shamanic astrology ,but she was kind of a beginner, so she couldn't explain it so well. She is moving to New Mexico this week to help open a shamanic astrology school. I might be going down to visit her. I definately want to learn more about this stuff after looking at that site. I tryed to go to a couple of shamanic meetings, but the teacher always canceled at the last minute. I know they are into spending time in nature alone and being in the desert at night looking at the stars. I think a lot of them have a strong astronomy base also. They also use peyote and stuff like that to reach a deeper spiritual connection. (Attention Draco) It has a lot to do with cycles that we all pass through at certain ages of our life that initiate us into the ways of being an adult or an elder. I'm supposed to be having a minor mars return soon, so I wish I knew more about it. That site gave me a really high feeling just looking at it. L.

I do not have much time this morning to research Shamanic Astrology, but I have created a new categoriy in the Links and Downloads Manager (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/local_links.php) in anticipation of our findings :)

This explains it nicely.
Shamanic astrology is astrology on a soul level. I've posted a few links on the Pluto thread, Rahelio and another one :)

Shamanism is a path of great interest to me.
"All true shamanic ceremonies are the mythic re-enactment of cosmological phenomena."..Jade Wah'oo Gregory, American Shaman.
The practitioner of Shamanic Astrology actively participates ceremonially with as many cosmological cycles as possible, which rejuvenates and reanimates the abilitly to source and co-create with the emerging mythos of a new epoch.
Daniel Giamario (ShamanicAstrology) is one of the great astronomer-astrologers of our time.

It's a small world. Daniel Gimario is the teacher that canceled on me twice. I did manage to listen to him at a lecture once here in Portland though. It's a small world. L.

It was about saturn. It was almost two years ago. The thing that I remember the most, more so than the lecture, was that everytime he was getting on to a good point this elderly lady in the audience would interrupt him and change the subjuct to something like how big his aura was. The friend that I was with got upset and complained about it. My friend's mother had commited suicide and Daniel was talking about people who commit suicide while under saturn's pressure, and that was one of the moments when the lady interrupted. L.

very interesting-shamanic astrology.
"a mytho-shamanistic approach to astrology involves the direct observation of the night sky, connecting with the natural phenomena using the human senses.
native and traditional peoples of shamanic orientation generally use this approach to cosmic research...because they ceremonially 'work' the cycles of the Earth and Sky.
they know that the winter solstice is a time of greatest density, the deepest descent of spirit into matter, the longest night, and then the return, or rebirth of the Sun."

The shamanic approach to astrology is very ancient...very intuitive..very magical.
