View Full Version : Extremely Potent Hallucinogenic Experience.

Hi all,

Sometime in late October 2001, I had an incredibly mind-blowing experience, which was one of the most extraordinary and incredible experiences I have had in my life. At the time, I was not as into astrology as I am now, and lacking the technology, I was without the means that the modern world demands to pursue it to any degree of depth anyway, otherwise, I would most definately have recorded the time of the beginning of this outrageous event.

My recenty made best friend of the time had been living in Devon in South West England, and brought back with him a large quantity of 'magic mushrooms' (or psilocybe, as is their Latin name) which he had collected from a field he had learned of where they grow in abundance. Not wanting to sound 'soft', I lied and told him that I had taken them before and knew what to expect (I was nineteen at the time). Consequently, I agreed to ingest two great big mug-fulls of a brew he had prepared. Oops! I had no idea what I was letting myself in for! :60: :60: :60:

I cannot even begin to describe the experience I had, it was completely ineffible and as exhilirating and sheerly awesome as it was terrifying and humbling, it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and it altered my perception of the universe and the nature of reality itself. All I can say is that there are a multitude of universes, planes and levels of reality, permeating what we consider to be real according to our extremely limited sensory faculties, and this is not just theory because I have experienced them! Ingestion of this potent elixir opened my conciousness to realms beyond.

The trouble is, I would love to know the exact date, and if possible, at least approximate time of this event so I could explore it astrologically. All I know is that this event occured in late October, some days short of Halloween, and that it occured when it was dark, after sunset, but not so long after. It was the latter part of the month at night, and that is all I know, and from the time I ingested the brew, I did not come back to reality until after dark the following night.

I feel that it must be possible to be able to track this event astrologically, from the contacts that the transitting planets would have been making to my own chart. I feel that the Moon must definately have had something to do with this, it is asscoiated with lunacy, and I was certainly out of my mind, out of this world! What might the moon have been doing in my chart, what would have been being stimulated?

As for outer planets, although Neptune is mostly associated with altered states, the experience was definately Uranian in flavour - crazy, bizarre, extraordinary, unbelieveable - I just don't have the words!

I would like to know what you would be looking for theorectically, as far as transitting contacts to a chart would be concerned, and I would especially like to know from those of you who have had similar experiences and recorded the time to be studied astrologically, what was going on in your chart at the time.

Trouble is, I suppose it is probably, astrologically a different experience for everyone. For example, I had the experience at the same time as my friend, but he does not have the same chart configurations as me, but none the less, had a comparable experience. (At many points we were experiencing the same things, how can two people have the same 'hallucination'?)

An interesting thing is, when I was trying to come up with approximate dates in late October of 2001, and trying to do a synastry with my chart, I had actaully made a mistake, and was looking at a synastry of my chart and the current moment - at which the Moon was in exact conjunction with Neptune. Was this a synchronicity trying to tell me something, as to where to look?

I'm just looking for other's opinion as to what to look for, and especially notes from those who have recorded the times of such experiences and how it affected your chart, but if you fancy a peep, here's my data:

15th Sept. 1982
6:00 pm (time of caesarian birth) -1
Blackpool, England
3-W-3 / 53-N-50

Hi Draco

It seems all quite clear to me - this is definitely a Neptunian experience - and this what you should be looking for. It being very intense doesn't make it less Neptunian.

Since this is was a totally new experience for you, conjunctions are what we are mainly looking for.

Neptune was transiting your ASC - a great image of you getting forever a new perception of "reality" while Chiron was transiting your Neptune representing the spiritual intiation by using potent drugs. An excellent astrological description of your experience.

Hi Draco,
Mushrooms and toadstools are associated with Pluto (as per smoke of H bombs). End October 2001 retrograde Saturn and Pluto were in close opposition to each other. You might say this could produce a 'lift off' of some kind, taking one out of the reality of everyday existence....of a somewhat different variety to 9/11. In the evening hours of Saturday 27th October, the Moon was transiting Pisces.....and we all know that that can induce other states of consciousness.....thus forming a T-square with Saturn-Pluto. The Astrology Weekly charts sticky puts your Asc. at 10 degr. Pisces, so you would 'have been in the right mood'. Transiting Neptune was also in your 12th house.

I wasn't able to see any *exact* aspect connections to natal planets but perhaps the progressions/directions would be more indicative for the time.

F.

I did not wish to rectify Draco's natal data in Our "Astrology Weekly" Natal Charts (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1380) without his expressed permission; thus, the chart currently posted in this thread is incorrect.

However, as soon as Draco gives the word, I will create and upload his correct natal chart ;)

Hello Draco, You might want to check out my shamanic astrology thread. L

This is not to take away from any astrological influences, but as an added note, the "veil between the worlds" grows thinner through the last part of October, reaching it's thinnest point on October 31 - Novemeber 1, if I'm recalling correctly. It is my understanding that it is much easier to access spiritual realms during this time.

Thankyou all for your input.

Radu, you are right, Neptune was sat at it's second station right upon my Ascendant at this time, which is very interesting.

Frisiangal, what you say about the Saturn/Pluto opposition in interesting especially in that the opposition forms a T-square to the Ascendant of my lunar return prior to the experience.

Personally I would associate fungi mostly with the Moon. Lilly tells us that the plants associated with the Moon are 'those which have a waterish taste, they love to grow in moist places and grow quickly into a juicy magnitude. The Moon would also be significant in that I consumed them in liquid form, but Saturn is significant also, for toxicity.

Your suggested date of the 27th October is of interest. This may well be the date on which this experience occured, I will look into this.

Arien Mav, please do alter my astrology weekly chart to 6:00pm, the time of my caesarian birth, which puts that stationary Neptune of the time right on my Ascendant. ;)

Lillybelle, I have my eye on the shamanic astrology thread.

Freedomlover, interesting point. I had considered that I had this experience at such a mystical point in the solar year, which is interesting.

I've been doing some exploring.

Given that I do not know the exact date, let alone the time of my phenomenal experience, other than that it occured in the latter half of October 2001, I decided that the best thing to do in order to analyse this event was to study the lunar return prior to it.

Given that this was the most remarkable experience I had within the cycle of this synodic month, then it would make sense that the seeds of potential for experiencing the event should have been sown in the prior lunar return:

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9872/lunarreturnpriortotripdk5.gif (http://imageshack.us)

Looking at the chart for the moment of the lunar return on it's own, I observe that the waning Moon falls in the twelfth house, describing my descent into the hidden realms of that which lays beyond concious comprehension.

Virgo rises in the chart, and as such, Mercury becomes my representative, the filter through which I am to percieve the world in the coming month.

Mercury is retrograde, which may itself in this context hint at mindbending experience, but also Mercury is combust by the Sun. The Sun holds domain over the Moon in my lunar return, but is also ruler of the otherworldly and utterly mysterious twelfth, so as Mercury is consumed by combustion, so the mind is overcome by the intangible and inexplicable; it is cast a spell upon.

If Mercury retrograde and consumed by the twelfth house ruler is not mind bending and conciousness expanding enough, then I observe a partile trine between Mercury and Uranus, also conspicuous by retrogradation, so that which I am to comprehend mentally is to be keenly outlandish and perverse, albeit fabulously so. (Uranus is also exactly conjoined with the Vertex, but I have no idea what to make of this.)

I also note that Mercury and Venus are mutually receptive via domicile, and as such, my cognitive faculties and sensory perceptions are tightly and strongly interwoven, and so given Mercury's retrogradation, combustion by the twelfth house ruler, and the exact trine to Uranus, itself retrograde, you will understand why I find the way in which the mind and senses were woven together in the midst of this phenomenon impossible to describe in words.

The Moon and Mercury are the most significant planets in this chart, as it is the lunar return and Mercury takes the role of my representative for the coming month. Jupiter and Saturn are in the respective domiciles of the Moon and Mercury, and they are conjoined via antiscion, a conjunction made all the more prevalent in that the nodes lie across the axis of the solstices, and so sit upon the near and far midpoints of Jupiter and Saturn. All this means that Jupiter and Saturn must have special significance.

Saturn is retrograde in Gemini, domicile of Mercury, and so brings down my mental and intellectual perceptions of the structure of reality.

Jupiter is upon it's degree of exaltation in Cancer, and being in the domicile of the Moon brings great spiritual expansion.

As both Jupiter and Saturn are conjoined by antiscion, then my soul-felt expansion of conciousness into new realms is simaltaneous to the breaking down of the stucture of all which is deemed real in my mind.

This was indeed a most remarkable event in my life, and really did expand my perception of the nature of reality.

This merits further study and thought, but these are my primary observations upon the lunar return chart as it stands alone, and I find it remarkable how the horoscope seems to poetically describe the potential for having the experience that I did within the coming lunar cycle. Of course, I have not explored every planetary configuration in this chart, but I feel have observed enough to describe the astrological weather necessary to precipitate this specific event as described by the lunar return.

All this and I have not yet fully explored this lunar return chart in relation to my natal horoscope. I'll post forth my findings.

For the record, I actually managed to find out the time at which I ingested the brew. It was 29th October, 2006 at 18.15 GMT, Blackpool, Eng. 3-w-3 / 53-n-50.

I was sorting through some old papers, and found some pages I had written in 2001, where I wrote about my experience and noted I took the brew at about quarter past six, but I hadn't put the date. I am suprised I made note of the time because I wasn't so into astrology then, but as this was such an astonishing experience for me, I'd found it noteworthy.

I managed to find out the date, because I remember that an episode of Farscape was on that evening, and trawling the internet, I found that an episode went out on UK television on the 29th October, which sounds just right because I recall the date being very close to my sister's birthday (27th) and Halloween, and this date is in the middle.

In fact, the chart is pretty amazing in relation to my charts.

In my solar arc, the PoF is in conjunction with natal Uranus, and solar arc Neptune in conjunction with the natal PoF.

The solar arc ascendant sextiles natal Neptune and trines natal Pluto

Solar arc Mercury squares the natal ascendant, with secondary progressed Mercury trining my ascendant.

So these themes set backdrop against which the experince is to occur.

In the event chart the opposition between Saturn and Pluto straddles the East-West axis, and that Neptune, which was exactly conjoined with my ascendant at the time, was directly upon midheaven, tying in my East-West axis into the South-North axis of the event, and configuring my chart powerfully with the essences of these planets on the event angles.

Of all the times I could have began this experience, it was at a time when Saturn, Neptune and Pluto were as close as possible to the angles.

The transitting Sun was in a partile square with my ascendant, and the Moon in a partile trine with midheaven.

I was experiencing a Mercury return at the time, and transitting Mercury was conjoined with Venus.

So Mercury comes into play in the transits, the progressed chart and the solar arc, with the solar arc and natal having the outer planets configured with some very personal points.
