Hello,

Here is my natal chart. Based on it, I would like to know which one of these careers I will find most success (financial and fame) and least (it's okay if you can't say the least, the most will be enough) success in. Here are the careers-

1. Author

3. Singer
4. Actress/model
5. Anything else I have not mentioned but I have a great chance at success. Please no conventional careers like engineeing, medicine, law etc.

Here is my chart-

Sun- Cancer
Moon-Aries
Ascendant- Leo
Venus- Leo
Mercury- Cancer
Mars- Taurus
Neptune- Capricorn
Uranus-Capricorn
Pluto- Scorpio
Jupiter- Scorpio
Saturn- Pisces
Asc node

Please say anything you know. Thank you and god bless you!

Please post your actual chart. There is a sticky on this site that will explain how to do it. A good place to construct your chart is the "free horoscopes" section at www.astro.com (http://www.astro.com) . We need to look at your houses, house cusps, and aspects between planets to give you an answer.

With Venus in Leo in the first house, and with Venus as the ruler of the MC, you are probably very attractive! This looks good for a modeling or acting career, but these are both difficult fields for newcomers to get into, and they require huge amounts of ambition and willingness to work long hours amidst very competitive people, and working for somebody else. Have you had any experience as a professional model or actress to date? Also, modeling is a field where girls can easily be exploited by agencies that take their money but offer them no real (or reputable) work, so keep your wits about you. I think you have talent in both areas, but many women with talent still don't succeed because there is so much competition. And then, most models are very young--few can sustain this career into middle age.

Similarly, what have you written so far? Did you take creative writing courses as a university student and get encouragement from your professors? Did you publish anything? Have you attended writers' workshops? If you have a novel or poetry already written, talk to a literary agent about whether they seem publishable. Enter a competition for new writers. Your Mercury (ruler of communication) looks strong but again, this is a field with a lot of competition, so you need to have the stamina to accept rejection and to still keep on writing and submitting your work.

Your Aries moon in the 9th really needs freedom, which may be what attracts you about starting your own business; but if your business is to grow, keep in mind that you need some background in bookkeeping and writing a realistic business plan. You might need to hire employees and you need to please your customers.

With your moon in Aries in the 9th house of overseas travel, however, I wonder if you have thought of being a flight attendant or travel writer. Attractive women who are fluent in English (as you are) would have an advantage in getting hired. Other jobs related to your Venus in Leo would be selling jewelry (especially gold jewelry!) or beauty products to women. How would you rate your talent as an interior designer/decorator (with Jupiter conjunct your IC)?

Your Venus is ruled by your sun in caring Cancer. This makes me think that you would get some satisfaction from a job involved in helping other people.

Thank you waybread for encouraging me by telling me that I have aptitude for a lot of careers, but I wanted to know which one I will make most money in. Thanks for suggesting air attendent and travel writer. I might be a cancerian but I don't consider social work/nursing/caretaker as careers but rather as charity.

I am not particularly interested in acting and modelling but I just wrote it because they were the only non-regulary-salaried careers that came to my mind. I count all careers where I will receive a fixed salary from someone else and careers which are non-creative (like air attendent) as conventional careers.

While talking about business, can you mention particular types of business (like technology, software, steel etc.) I will be successful at.

Thanks again anyway and god bless you.

elements, one thing not to do with astrology is to keep fishing until someone gives you the answers you want. One thing not to do is to write misleading statements by giving careers that don't interest you! We tend to take you at your word. If you think you belong in a technological field, you don't need an astrologer to tell you what you already know about yourself. Also, astrologers can offer advice, but they cannot make choices for the individual that only she can make for herself.

I tried to hint delicately that your biggest obstacle in any field you enter will be in mustering the stamina to stay with it, and to persist despite the inevitable failures and disappointments. You have a kind of "splash" type of chart, which gives you abilities in many different areas, and this is valuable for certain kinds of jobs that entail a lot of variety. What it doesn't do is give you a lot of focus in any one area.
One thing I will say, however, is that a 12th house sun does find its best expression in some kind of selfless service to other people. Whether you get paid for such work or not is, of course, your call.

I don't think that seeking fame is a particularly mature way to go about a career choice. If you have a vocation that really sings for you, then this is what gives your life meaning, not some kind of shallow, fleeting media attention. Imagine that you did get a career that made you famous, but you felt very dissatsfied in it.

With Mercury as the ruler of the cusp of your "money house", look to make money through your intelligence: writing, speaking, communicating; possibly IT if you have or can get the education for it. Your Mercury is well-aspected, which is a great help, and in the 11th house of friends. Sometimes this means that your friends will be helpful in your financial affairs, but more often it suggests that you would enjoy working for an employer where your co-wokers became friends; or where you had friendly social relations with your clients. Yet this is a bit at odds with your independence-seeking moon.

So you may not find an ideal job that gives you wealth, fame, and independence simultaneously. Few people do. So the vocational search is really more about deciding what matters to you most, and what compromises you can (or must) accept.

I note that you were born in India, and Vedic astrologers often give very different results from western astrologers. You might hire a Vedic astrologer.
