psychic abilities fluctuate

I heard about a local psychic who was supposedly very very good from several friends around 18 months ago , so I thought why not fork out some cash and see how good she was! There was a 14 month waiting list to see her, that supported the good reports that I recieved. Around 3 weeks ago I finally got to see her, and was a bit disappointed when she got around 6 out of 7 replies wrong. She got the wrong number of children that I have, the wrong age of my partner by 10 years, etc.etc. At the end of the session she told me that I would recieve a speeding fine, which is on the cards because I recently fitted a supercharger to my previously very slow car, and a parking fine too. I'm beggining to wonder if she was having an off day, or even an off month, I did ask her for her birth data during the session, but by the time it finished I got sidetracked by another lady working in the same office who was into astrology, so I can't look into this further. I have noticed that intuition seems to come and go for myself, so would have to assume that most peoples abilities would be variable according to transits and progressions. Has anyone tracked this kind of variability in someones chart?

Well ... Derren Brown did a series last year where he looked at a psychic, a ghost hunter and the Bronnikov method.

The pyschic was incredible in the first scene. He went to a woman's house and had hit after hit after hit in a reading. It was more than you could achieve from cold reading. It was confirmed that he'd never met the woman before and that she hadn't given him any information.

His later efforts with clients were much less successful. At stage shows there were definite elements of cold reading going on. Without the initial reading you'd doubt the "psychic's" ability beyond cold reading; but with it include you were left really wondering.

The show ended with a comment that some weeks later they discovered that the lady who had the first (very successful) reading lived next door to the sister of the psychic ...

Now, don't get me wrong, because I do believe there are powers beyond which we understand. There are far too many moments of coincidence/premonition that have been reported.

I'm sure some psychics actually have some ability but I don't think many can turn it on or off. Most people who have premonitions or whatever have very little control about when they happen or what they are about.

I think most supposed psychics are just good coldreaders, or who as in this show knew information beforehand. I'd be inclined to doubt the one you saw is any good rather believing they were having an off day and therefore potentially giving them a second chance and more cash.

I guess you'll only ever hear about the success stories, few people will tell you how bad the reader is. Or they'll give them the benefit of the doubt and remember the accurate stuff, ignore the wrong.

Im not a "psychic" pro.... but I do feel that my "abilities" fluctuate. Sometimes I feel strong things about a situation or hear (telepathy/clairaudience) that happen to be true later. Other times I cant concentrate or get anything at all, especially if Im not relaxed...

Many times I get the impression that I can get some "telepathic" messages on command, but other times I cant get to this neutral level that you need in order to do so.

I went to a ESP course once. And they said that sometimes you cant get messages from people if they block you or something. It happens sometimes....

Ive also watched some programs about people with abilities like psychokineses I think its called? And that they sometimes get the wrong pictures, even though they have been quite accurate before. So I think there are many factors influencing this, for example how much you are thinking yourself. Its not always easy to feel the difference between what is something produced by your own imagination and what you feel from the environment (ESP). I think that even the best "psychic" can make mistakes sometimes.

Also I belive its harder to get feelings/visions about strangers than if it were a family member or a close friend. I think your more synchronized with the ones you know well, and thats why one easily gets telepathic messages from those you know than the ones you dont know.

i think many people have psychic abilities if they would tune into it
and listen within and follow their gut~ but in saying that no professional psychic is perfect ever it is a gift
think of it as a radio frequency
sometimes u can get it and sometimes u cannot pick up on it
so this is why well know psychics sometimes do not get it

Personally I'd love to tune in. I go to bed most nights hoping that something will come out of the ether to me. I suspect the more you search for it, the less likely to find it.

I think there's a big difference between psychic ability and intuition. Just listening to your gut feel about stuff can be your brain put 2+2 together quicker than you can consciously work it out.

I'm interested in the truly psychic stuff where you couldn't possibly have known stuff. Premonitions, links to other people etc.

You all raise good points, if someone has a good network of friends then information about the client could be gleaned before the reading, making the psychic appear better than what they really are! I tend to agree with the comments about being relaxed while receiving, in fact thats the only time that it really happens for me, when I'm not trying at all and it "just happens"! I have found that stimulating ones pineal gland with herbs/medicines of different kinds helps a lot, and that abstaining from sex also gave me a much better result. (thats a huge price to pay though :) ). I'm trying to figure out why I tune in while driving my car, maybe 3rd/9th house planets have a say for me. Do any of you guys/girls have a particular place or activity where you receive more powerful messages?

Its weird to say but I sometimes tune in on tests at school. It happened a couple of times. I had a "mental conversation" with myself about the answers and I heard something in my mind and this turned out to be correct. It only works when I no nothing about the answer, like when I havent studied so my mind gets relaxed and cleared for my own logical thinking. Its all about getting away from the logical part of the brain I guess and tuning in to the intuitive part:D

Do any of you guys/girls have a particular place or activity where you receive more powerful messages?

There's been a couple of moments when I was on the toilet! I joke not. I guess you just go in there sit down and stare at the floor and everything relaxes.

I'd say potentially it's the same when you're driving your car. You zone out. You know that feeling when you suddenly realise you've been driving on automatic and have gone the last half mile without consciously knowing where you've driven. And you worry because you think "What would have happened if I'd had an accident?" (but of course your mind would have been alert to it).

I do actually have some very deep thoughts while I'm driving. Nothing particularly psychic but I do manage to have some real insights into the motivation and actions of others; as well as new ideas. I'll quite often think "wow that explains it" then continue on driving and when I get home know that I made a breakthrough on that subject but not be able to recreate it!

So I guess the point about driving is that it gets you in The Zone. Your conscious mind is taken up with the task of driving, watching other cars/pedestrians, making turns and obeying signals etc.
