Just happened to notice this am that Oprah Winfrey (29 Jan 1954) has Saturn closing in on her Pluto (Mars/Pluto Square). She's in the news a lot this week re her lawyers getting heavy handed with a guy who wants to see her run for President and she's also back on the Radio.

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on how this upcoming biggie, Saturn Conj Pluto may manifest for her given that Saturn is her ruling planet.

Perhaps Radu or someone can put up her chart - I still haven't figured out how to do that.

I have also noticed that Oprah has been in the news a lot this week. I also saw that her Saturn was closing in on her Pluto. I am anxiously awaiting seeing her chart. I'd really like to see what's going to happen next with her.

Thanks for adding the chart Sag Angel! It's even more interesting now as I see that, if that birthtime is correct, (the source notes below the chart also cite another possible time) then the eclipse just fell on her MC at 29 Virgo. It also places Pluto in her 8th.

There's a whole melange of aspects hitting her chart at the mo and it's difficult to sort them out. Saturn is not only going to transit her Pluto (and two polar opposite connotations of that, out of many, are 'loss of power' or 'consolidation of power') but square her Mars. Sa/Pl/Ma = sudden acts of brutality and violence or incredible power at her disposal. However tr Pluto is trining her Pluto and a whole host of other aspects.

We won't necessarily see the outworkings of any of this - she may internalise it but looks like she's approaching an important juncture. How about her and Al Gore as running mates eh ;-)

It was my understanding that Oprah has a Taurus ascendant, chart ruler then is Venus. She looks it too.

Her appearance on radio is due to some influence on Uranus and possibly Mercury. I dont have her chart. however.

You know Claire, I have heard this very same thing about Oprah’s birth chart and yes, she definitely has the looks that go along with it. I think you’re most likely right.

I have seen a chart posted for a Sag ascendant. If she has the Taurus rising then Jupiter would be in the first, so the influence is similar. The Sag ascendant natal chart at least works rather well I have to say. If we can discern what sign her best friend Gayle is, then perhaps we can get a better fix on her true birthtime by putting her sign in the 7th and then the polar opposite will be the rising sign perhaps. The 11th house shows the media as well as Uranus aspects, especially radio and television and the 3rd house can denote the actual communication or the 9th if broadcast wider.

Her Venus Sun and Mercury in 2nd house Aquarius of personal income, possessions etc is emphasised through the medium of television and radio also. This is an influence of her wealth obviously. Neptune in the 10th can be film career and also mystery surrounding who she really is, such as her sexuality etc ....and that her public image is not the true person but an illusion or an image that is idolised and glamourised. I am always amazed at the reaction she gets from the US audiences, like she is some kind of goddess which I guess she is in US and there is sometimes near hysteria it seems to me. Those with Neptune there are often idolised or over idealised such as Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana. An aura of glamour........

Well, I don't know much about what is going on with Oprah, as she is not in the news in the UK, but I just wanted to say that Mars is the ruler of the horoscope, or Lord of the Geniture in her chart. Mars is in it's domicile and triplicity in Scorpio and fortunately placed in the eleventh house, as such is the planet weilding the greatest power in her chart, as we usually lead with our strengths, and Mars is in the strongest position.

Well one manifestation of her current aspects became apparent yesterday when, here in the UK, we heard all the furore about her interview with Madonna. We heard that a considerable portion of the population of the USA were awaiting this interview with more interest than a Presidential Address/Statement (there's irony in that considering the former posts about her running for President)and sales of beer and popcorn hit the roof? It was a top news story here when audiences left the recording.

Hmmm, the two most powerful (arguably) women in the World being beamed into living rooms across the globe. Do I see a glint of Ceres or Eris? Madonna is certainly causing a lot of 'discord' in the area of mothering at the mo with many column inches either praising or decrying her decision to adopt from Malawi.

PS. I had to chuckle at Madonna's accent. She certainly is a chameleon. I challenge anyone to tell the difference between her accent and Joan Collins' these days!

I must admit that I am one of the Americans who could really care less about Madonna. I don't understand why she is so popular again. I liked her in the 80's but that was a few decades ago LOL
