Hi Everyone

I'm after a little guidance with my career and wondered if anyone could point out strengths\weaknesses in my chart, I have always seemed to work in some form of communication r.e. postman\I.T networking (and studied media for my degree).

Feel really burnt out on technology which leaves me frazzled.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i was born on the 14th March 1973, 3.20pm, Reading U.K.

My chart is here:

Thank you

Hi Mark,

I am going to attempt to help you gain understanding as best I can. There are a few things that primarily stand out for me:

Jupiter in Aquarius on the Descendent (DC)

Uranus(technology) sextile(modifying) Ascendant(self)

Sun inconjunct (quincunx) Uranus - hard aspect

Your True Node (NN) happens to be in the 5th house - opposite the 11th that is the natural ruler of Aquarius.

Uranus is the natural ruler of Aquarius also, that is in your 3rd house.

Saturn is in your 10th in Gemini, which Venus (ruler of Taurus) is on the 10th house cusp (MC).

Your Sun (co-significator of men) is in the 8th house, ruled by (Scorpio) Pluto, but co-ruled by Mars (traditionally ruled by Mars - symbolic of men also).

Your Mercury is also in the 8th, conjuncting your Sun and Venus.

Mars is square Uranus.

Sun and Mercury are both inconjunct Uranus.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The inconjunct aspect is a difficult one. It represents two forces that are completely foreign to one another.

Uranus represents technology, Mercury represents communication.

MC the 10th house cusp is known as your career/profression.

The 6th house cusp represents work and is ruled by Aquarius.

Here's the thing. You will indeed experience much discomfort in that field although you certainly have the talent and potential to be in it, learn it, go forward with it. However, perhaps the best way to overcome those negative energies is to combine that knowledge and talent with other aspects of the chart.

Since Saturn is in your 10th, you need to take full note of that. Saturn is at home in 10th. Saturn is the planet of responsibility, restriction, lessons, karma. However, it is also the planet of reward. Saturn is in Gemini - ruled by Mercury. Perhaps you'd do well as a professor/teacher of some sort - teaching what you know about the media/technology/etc.

All in all, it comes together. That doesn't mean you'll have an easy time, though. So, let's take another look at the 'other' aspects I keep mentioning.

Sun, Mercury, Venus all in 8th. Mayhaps you'd do well in a field that can utilize your degree/knowledge in something that pertains to that house, for example: the 8th house is associated taxes and inheritance, but it can also be applied to the FBI, CIA, and the military. I am probably going to get slaughtered by the other members for saying this, but the military (especially Air Force) has some very good options for you. I am going to shut up about this now, lol.

Like I said, I am sort of just throwing out ideas based on what I've studied over several years. It seems technology will burn you out, and something in the communications field is what you should go for. Consider Gemini in the 10th house, and Venus on the 10th house cusp.

Mercury and Venus also conjunct one another.

Venus (fashion, art, women, money, possessions, material assets, values, feelings, attitude towards security, partners, how money and possessions are acquired, how they are used. Both emotional and financial security, personal values and principles.)

Mercury (siblings and other relatives such as aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours and how one relates to them; style and manner of all types of communications, letters, correspondence, telephone, short journeys, basic education and school life, documentation, papers, books, writing, transport, environment. Mental attitude, the analytical mind, self-expression, speech)

Good Luck! (God, I'm going to so get rammed for being an amateur  )

chimpyx,

As Catatonia mentioned, your North node (future goals) is focused in the 5th house (self-expression), so your goal is to find a way to express yourself. One way is Uranus, since Uranus is focused on by a T-square between the nodes. With Uranus out, we can look for another focus between the nodes...and we find one with an Easy Opposition focused between the nodes on the 8th house. So maybe 8th house careers could get you the opportunity to "express yourself" that you want. Catatonia mentioned a few, here are a few more with some duplicates:
stockbroker, private detective, police officer, gynecologist, surgeon, midwife, psychiatrist, alternative therapist, undertaker, psychologist, pathologist, sewage worker, insurance, researcher, tax official, healer

Of these, maybe "researcher" would allow you to use your technical/communication abilities in some type of advising, consulting position. But, if you are not interested in researcher and want a REAL job change...take a look at some of the other possibilities! :)

Careering,

Tim

Hi and thank you so much for replying so quickly.

WOW, lots of food for thought there.

Catatonia, spot on on a number of counts, I do find technology easy to master and people often mention that I have 'the magic touch' when it comes to computers, and as you mention this career path has been a cause of much stress in my life. The Airforce bit.....well, I'm probably as passive as they come and have always been generally anti military in reality so that strikes me as a bit odd , had a good lol myself about that one!

Wilsontc I was pleasantly suprised to hear about future goals being in self expression, I am imaginative and used to enjoy writing creative stories and I guess in asking the question I was hoping to see something along the lines of creative writing. Music has also been a constant in my life but my twelfth house moon makes me awfully shy so I never even thought of taking that forward.
The T-Square (once I'd done a little more reading on this great site) makes an awful lot of sense, I have never gone out on a limb creatively despite the fact that I know this is where I would really like to be. Is there any indication of writing ability?

Thanks again to you both, given me lots to work with here

Cheers

Mark

chimpyx,

Since you have Uranus (friends, also technology, innovation) focused in the 3rd house (thinking, also writing), writing is certainly a possiblity...but I thought you were getting TIRED of using your Uranus all the time? ;)

Uranistically,

Hi Tim

After reading up on all the various aspects that have been bought out of this I can see that the Quincunx and the T-Square are causing me alot of trouble in life. It feels as if I have always blocked that energy and it has manifested as a number of bad habits/tension/strange states of mind. The reason for blocking? Well I guess through conditioning by my parents (bless them!) that creative things are ok as a past time but you can't really make a living from them (is true for alot of creative types me thinks!) and this ties nicely with the idea that I am always trying to please others (although internally baulk at the idea).

Coming out of this for me is to find a way to bring the Uranus energy through in a positive\measured\consistent and creative way...Phew!
I think this is going to be struggle after 30+ years of not doing this but here goes anyway.....

Things are starting to make a little more sense, very glad to be aware of these aspects. I always thought that minor aspects played very little part in the chart.

Thank You very very much.

chimpyx,

All astrologers consider the square a major aspect and, personally, I also think of the quincunx as a major aspect (although many astrologers will call it a minor aspect). The squares force us to combine two different energies while the quincunx forces us to make adjustments in our life. Avoiding these challenges only makes things more difficult and stressful in our life. It is never too late to make this realization. Now that you know...hopefully you can "make peace" with your Uranian energy! :)

Peacefully,

Tim

According to Futurama, Uranus has just been renamed "Urectum"!!! :p ;) :D

Just a little aside, interesting that Uranus is named as it is as it denotes homosexuality, kinky unconventional sex when straight. Leave it to your imagination.

With the quincunx or inconjunct I agree it is a major aspect of chronic conditions that have to be adjusted to and will not be cured, this can manifest on the physical level. I should know I have Saturn 6th house inconjunct my Pisces ascendant and have chronic tinnitus in my left ear. Saturn is also conjunct Mercury and I have arthritis as well and especially in my hands, this has worsened on my second Saturn return........So the inconjunct is no minor aspect especially to those who have to deal with it!!.

Claire.
