Well on your mark, get ready, set. Hey, Wait no cheating neptune you have to wait till I say go. Oh, I know you were just confused, perfectly innocent mistake, you just had too many beers earlier. O.K. on your mark, get ready, set, go. And it's is official neptune and saturn will be stepping into the boxing ring for an opposition in this long awaited boxing match. Saturn bows up throw a nasty punch, but before saturn can deliver the hit, neptune ask for permission to go take a nap in the corner of the ring. This will be one exciting match ladies and gentlemen. I gurantee you. Can someone go wake neptune up? Oh no, the referres are having to ask saturn in leo to quit beating his chest while screaming he's the king.
Well, sometime by tomorrow afternoon, the saturn neptune opposition will be exact by degree. Lilllybelle

Aackkk !   !!! Noooooooooo !!! Squares are hard, but you can get things done, but Poopostions, I mean Oppositions are just torurous. I have enough of Saturn's influence to do very well thenk you without it if it were to up and disappear. People guess that if someone aimed a missile at Saturn and suceeded in blowing it up that there would be utter chaos. Saturn pounding it's chest thinking it is Leo the Lion - yes, I guess, but how ridiculous - Saturn doesn't even like being in Leo. You are right Lilybelle this is strange. Why can't they just move to 120 degrees apart and forget the whole thing !?

Good one Lillybelle! Don't know who I have my bets on tho????? Neptune vs. Saturn - like the idea of let's just make it a trine!

I think the biggest effect will be in what house it effects us in. As for the world karma I just read in our local newspaper after a huge boom in real estate that it is now a buyers market. Housing is way over inflated in my area. Ugh, I guess that effects me too :(

I don't think Saturn and neptune can really ever get along. Maybe at best tolerate each other. They both offer another dimension and depth to their planet (ie saturn offers structure to neptunes chaos and creativity) but both are out of their element in each other. Neptunes wants to take a nap and saturn says GET UP Time to go to work! Neptune hits the snooze button again and again and saturn just gets more frustrated as the coffee is brewing, breakfast made and kids are off to school. Please leave neptune alone to astral dream and neptune leave saturn alone to take care of this planet. There we go!

In all wonder, what are you really feeling during this transit? Torturous? Floating anxiety? Depression? Creative? Don't Care?

I guess the best you can hope for with these two is a partnership (or truce!) which motivates (or forces!) you to realise (saturn) your dreams (neptune)

Instead of floundering in your dreams (neptune alone!) and
Instead of forgetting your dreams to realise somebody else's expectations (saturn alone!)

So, in which houses is the fight for you?? :p
For myself, they're facing off along the 1/2H (Saturn) and 7/8H (Neptune) cusp. Quite glad to see them leaving my precious ascendant/descendant axis behind :D

Perhaps it's because I have a natal sextile between the two that I don't yet feel threatened.
Bring on the 2/8H issues with ideals vs reals

This is a particularly interesting transit for me since I was born with a Saturn-Neptune conjunction...and I just realized that the opposition is straddling my sixth house-twelfth house axis!

This Saturn (Capricorn Sun) and Neptune (Pisces Asc) opposition transit (natally conjunct each other) has had me wondering about a few things personally too. Natally my Pluto is in Leo in 6 which transiting Saturn will make it's first Hit (exact conjunction) to in a few weeks. Transiting Neptune's working it's way into an opposition to natal Pluto from my 12th also, and transiting Pluto's coming up on (conjuncting) my Sun soon. The fun transformations just don't stop it seems anymore. Good thing!

Here's a great line from Barbara Hand Clow's latest New Moon report about these 2 big guys oppostion now. "Saturn opposition Neptune results in pressure to access the spiritual dimensions of structures and laws."

Here's her whole report if interested.

Howl,
Keep in touch with that axis. It also effects my second and eighth houses. I have quite a few oppositions natally in those houses also.

Don't know what to expect. Saturn in the 8th and neptune in the 2nd, hmmm. The cusps of my houses are also at 16 degrees. tb

Natally my saturn and neptune trine each other. This current opposition is taking place in my 6th/12th house conjuncting my sun/moon midpoint and near my natal saturn. Well in the past few days I've started a new job, a very creative artistic job, but I'm not sure how the pay is going to pan out. I do like the job, but I will have to leave if I can't pay my bills through this job.
On the other hand I'm having some powerful insights into my true nature. Yesterday I woke up with the realisation that what I've been saying that I want for years isn't what I really want at all. I've been deluding myself. I've also started to deal with some of my childhood issues more directly. Lilllybelle

Is it just me ? Is any one feeling particularly unfocused mentally now ? I don't know if this Saturn Neptune opposition can have this effect.

I don't think Saturn and neptune can really ever get along. Maybe at best tolerate each other.

Yet it's rather amusing that Neptune gets boundary (Saturn) planet status from scientists( Saturn) whose ideas becomes law (Saturn) in spite of what the more spritually-minded in astrology intuit (Neptune in Aquarius), within the same period that the opposition is in orb.
As long as Neptune doesnt start acting too regally in believing to have the final say about everything:D.

Saturn and Neptune get along better than anyone would like to admit... While these forces are quite different, its important to remember they are of complementary elements! Earth and Water, as well as Air and Fire, are the better matches of dissimilar elements. Simply by thier nature, they go together... Water allows the earth to bear fruit, and air allows the fire to exist. Saturn is very happy living in Neptune's dream world, but only after he's been at the office and worked hard all day. Furthermore, remember Saturn goes along with Capricorn, the seagoat... How can this half goat half fish survive without an ocean, which just happens to be Neptune's domain? It's also important to remember that Capricorn/Saturn is considered by the ancients as the most mystical energy, also a domain of Neptune/Pisces. Pisces the fish, Capricorn the half-fish...

That said, Saturn/Neptune in opposition forces us to reconcile our responsibilities with our dreams.. and I tell you, alot of people _really_ need that right now. We're lucky to have Jupiter forming a benefic and action-oriented t-square from probing Scorpio, allowing us to see into the depths of these things and come out a winner.

Now, lets take a journey back in time...

... to november 13, 1989 @ 11:39AM GMT, when Saturn/Neptune last conjoined, we see the fall of the berlin wall. This was a huge event, a massive revolution which marked the start of the current Saturn/Neptune cycle. It speaks so well for the conjunction of these forces.. Saturn rules structures, especially ones that impose limits and restrictions (like the Berlin wall itself), and Neptune represents thier dissolution as well as freedom and wholeness (such as the integration of east/west germany).

This was an awesome event, and if you havn't spent some time reading about it, i encourage you to do so.. especially if you like a good Uranian revolution!

On November 13 1989, when Saturn/Neptune conjuncted, it did so in exact opposition to Jupiter. Interesting that Jupiter joins the opposition to form a T-square.

In reference to Germany (of which I use the Janurary 18 1871 unification chart), the Saturn/Neptune conjunction occured on the 1871 south node, while the oppositing Jupiter, of course, was upon 1871's north node. Transiting Uranus (revolutions) conjuncted Germany's national Saturn. The more exact timing of the start of the fall, on 11/9/1989, happened with a triple conjunction of Sun, Mercury and Pluto happening in opposition to the 1871 chart's Pluto, with transiting Venus conjuncting transiting Uranus, both conjunct 1871's Saturn. Venus was also involved by solar arc, as the 1871 chart's lunar nodal axis progressed by solar arc direction to form an exact t-square with 1871 national Venus.

Anyways, I found this to be relevant to the current cycle we are in, and a powerful example of how the Saturn/Neptune combination can dissolve unneccessary restrictions which can make way for wonderful new structures.

With that in mind, what walls and restrictions in your personal experience do you need to do something about? How will you integrate your sense of responsibility and commitment (Saturn) with your need to be free from ego and rigidity (Neptune)? These are great times to consider these things.

Start now... and when Jupiter comes to the midpoint of the opposition in early October, you may see major dividends on your efforts!

Thanks for that great post unukalhai. I'm a Goat with Fish rising ;) so I enjoyed reading your insights about those 2 planetary energies.

I think the real excitment will come through the Leo/Aquarius polarity and force huge and dramatic changes for all of us.....like it or not!

That said, Saturn/Neptune in opposition forces us to reconcile our responsibilities with our dreams..
Hey! I've been doing a lot of that lately for the first time in my whole life. I never thought of the transiting energies affecting it. I thought I was just going up. well, I am. I''ll be on the Saturn return train very soon.

I have a natal square between Saturn in the 4th/5th and Neptune in the 7th. My natal Jupiter in the 4th trines my natal Neptune, but doesn't behold my natal Saturn.

This transiting T square takes place in my 4th (tr Saturn) and 10th (tr Neptune) focused in the 6th (tr Jupiter which appraoches a conjunction with my natal Uranus).

No wonder I've been reconciling my dream with reality through work instead of just daydreaming about the perfect job as I did in the past.

Cool thread, unukalhai. Thanks for sharing.

Liatris, yes I think nep/sat could cause for some spaciness.

Once again I posted thinking that I had read all the post not realising that there was another page full of post. I did want to share some things that happened to me yesterday. The only thing I can accredit all of these transactions to is sat/nep opp. It's 8 in the morning. I teach a yoga class and only one girl shows up. She becomes very emotional because she is going to move soon. She starts having a big release and had to leave the class early. So the day is starting with an emotional tinge. Then I head off to my 2nd, but actually my fisrt, day at my new job. Layter My roommate and I walked to the grocery store together. Now get this I **** you not. I'm standing at the top of a very long line. Some lady blatantly cut everyone in line. I went over and pointed out to her that there was a very long line. She apoligised and pretended, shucks, she hadn't seen the line. When I get back to the line, someone else had decided to take my place at the top of the line. I started doubting myself. I didn't remember this guy being in front of me before, but what would the chances be of having two people cut me in line back to back. I didn't say anything to the guy. I asked the guy behind me and he confirmed that he was pretty sure that the guy had cut in line too. As soon as I had payed for my stuff I remembered that when I had went to tell the one lady to use the line like everyone else I had been if front of the line. It was my turn next. Can you believe that? I'm telling one person to not cutt me in line and then someone else does it. It's kind of funny in a sinefeld way, though it made me really mad at the time. Then at about 1:30 in the morning my neighbors wake me up with all their noise. In the past I've always asked neighbors who woke me up to keep it down, and then just layed there in my bed unable to sleep because they usually only get louder. Well last night I asked them to keep it down once politely, which they didn't, they continued drinking beer and being loud out in the parking lot. So I went out there and for once in my life just totally ripped into their butts, and you know it felt really good. I also went to the manager of the apartments and they got into a bit of trouble for it. I just thought that was heck of a lot of drama for one day. Somehow though I can't explain it I think Sat/Nep had a hand in the events of yesterday. Lilllybelle
