Solar return girl here. :cool:

It's actually very special this time because it's my first birthday as an amateur astrologer (last birthday I was a total novice) and my first ever on the astrology weekly forums.

I thought maybe I'd share my solar return chart and see if I could get some insights for the coming year. Please find links to my natal chart, solar return chart for 2006 and a chart of both of them together. If you like using your own software, my data is as follows:

My solar return this year takes place on the 14th of August. On that day, transiting Mars will be exactly on top of my 5th house cusp in opposition to transiting Uranus Rx which will be also in conjunction with the 11th house cusp, although not exact. The transiting nodal axis are also in these two houses (in opposite signs to my natal nodal axis). The transiting Moon will be in my 12th house separarting from an opposition to my natal Pluto and moving towards a conjunction with my natal Moon.

Should I hibernate on that day?

And also note, I am interested in SR charts but by no means 'qualified' on the matter! Hopefully what I see in it is of some use to you..

Okay, here is what I notice!!

First I’d like to look at your SR chart themes, in relation to your natal. Natally you have more fixed planets than cardinal or mutable, and most of your planets in Angular houses. You’re also natally a fire baby :) and a ‘below the horizon’ dweller.

In your SR, the emphasis is also very much on fire. In fact, you have a stellium in Leo, just like in your natal chart. Your chart ruler, Pluto, forms an ‘almost’ grand fire trine with the moon and your MC. I would suggest that you find the ‘nature’ of your energies this year quite comfortable.

You have far more SR planets in cadent houses than you do natally. You also have far more planets in the upper (southern?) hemisphere, unlike in your natal chart. This may reflect some of the challenges of the coming year.

A fire stellium in 4H in your natal chart and a fire stellium in 9H of your SR chart seems significant to me. Perhaps you’ll be asked, or inspired, to bring your more personal qualities out for public display (and admiration, you Leo you ;)) It might feel unusual to do so, but with all that fire I’m sure you could do it, if that’s what you choose! Do you have an attraction to study or travel this coming year? Anything that would expand your experience or knowledge?

A focus on cadent houses indicates possible need for reflection, discrimination, careful thought concerning your existing resources, direction or plans. This year might be a year of laying foundations. It seems likely that most of your energy, or at least more than usual, will be directed towards preparing for future action.

Interestingly, the two exceptions to the rule are Uranus (4H) and Mars (10H). Uranus in the 4H might be a big change for you, given your heavy natal focus here. Mars in the 10th might bring an unusual level of energy for career related opportunity. The moon in 6H of your solar return chart also touches on ideas of work and career. It has just moved to foundation building Taurus, your natal lunar sign. Together, these three suggest that you may be motivated to make some changes close to home, and these may link with willing involvement in your work (whatever that may be) and the energy to forward your ‘position’. Pluto, your chart ruler, also trines both your moon and sun/MC from the 2nd house. Yep, I’d say this year will almost definitely bring some changes to your work/home balance, your ‘role’ and motivations, and consequently the resources you have to work with.

Ah, I just noticed something. You have an (almost/loose) grand cross in fixed signs – look at Jupiter/Chiron/Moon/Mercury-Venus. That’s a grand fixed cross in cadent houses. Don’t worry, I am loving my solar return grand fixed cross this year, it indicates huge motivation! Mine is also in the cadent houses, and I have started a new postgraduate degree and a new job that I love. I am somewhat hotwired and short circuited with energy though. I’d be interested to find out if this is your experience too :D

Technically you also have a t square between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. Jupiter in your 12th house seems to be a pivotal planet, connecting in with many of your aspect patterns. In this case, you might have to try and balance the possibility of mental structure or clarity with mental fog or intuition, using 12H Jupiter. Perhaps this placement indicates unconscious over-enthusiasm, the chance of pushing things too far. With Scorpio on the ascendant, I would be surprised if you didn’t exhibit a bit of intensity! See what you think :)

Okay now I feel that I have rambled at you. My summary is this:

Your energies will probably feel, and express themselves, quite naturally. However, you’re likely to focus them on some quite new areas. You’re likely to feel ‘driven’, possibly even a little manic :D as you try and satisfy those squares and oppositions. It’s a mixed blessing – more energy and more stress. The actions you take this year can build the foundations for your future plans, but perhaps this isn't the right time for immediate outright 'success'. You may be surprisingly more oriented towards learning either through study, travel, or a ‘new’ and engaging career activity. Either way your ‘home’ situation and the resources in your grasp will probably change (in a positive way :)) My guess is that you’re also likely to take a more public/communications focus than before.

Whew! As you can see, I just kind of tend to throw it all in there. Hope this means something to you ;)

Thank you for your interpretation. I can actually relate to everything you said. Great job. I should tell you that, according to what you said, my solar return chart must have been in effect of at least 2 months now. Amazing!

As to the placements that I was worried about, they're weren't so bad. I was quite edgy and restless for no specific reason. Nonetheless, all the calls, sms's and the posts on this thread have succeeded in making it a great day.

Happy birthday! Its still the 15th as I write where I am at. I had mine last Saturday the twelfth. Started it out right, went and met a new girl, didn't go off that well though. Pulled up her chart seven planets in Virgo and Libra with Libra Sun. Shes to hung up on her Ex though. (I thought I was hung up in the past) Her Natal Venus conjunct my Uranus and Pluto. Oh well, live and learn. With Pluto in my7th house I can heal quicker in relationships I suppose. Once again I hope you had a great day.
