View Full Version : Astrological calendar
Just a quick thought. How does everyone else keep track of the multitude of heavenly bodies flying past and triggering points in their natal/ progressed charts? I have a vision - of a yearly wall calender, on which I indicate each of the (major) influences, and can see when they come into effect, and complete.
Does anyone else keep an astrological transits/progressions calendar? Or being the genius astrologers that you are, do you somehow manage to keep them all in mind at once??

howl,
You asked:

Astrology programs have the ability to print out all the aspects made to your chart for whatever chart you want and whenever you want.
Programmatically,
Tim
Thanks Tim :)
I am thinking more along the lines of how you keep them in mind daily. I have various print outs, but if I print it, I tend to put it somewhere and not really look at it or consider it (on a daily basis, or in connection with other information).
Okay, you are speaking to a 3H Virgo Mars person here :) I basically download the contents of my entire hyperactive brain into a daily diary, so that I keep all the details in the right place for when I need them :p I would have no chance without the diary!! (Mercury in 6H conjunct Neptune?? I must counteract that creative brain-fog!!) So, the idea of a huge chart on the wall that can show me what long term influences I am still in the grips of is very appealing, to me at least...I'm going to give it a bash. At the very least, I will enjoy making it

To be honest, I have no idea where any of the personal planets are in the sky at this moment. I get that information from most of you who seem to live and beathe with your charts :o. The slower moving planets are, however, locked into the brain:).
IF you put up a chart of how the planets daily motions are in relation to your chart, will you ever do anything spontaneously? Wouldn't you always be checking to see if it was the right moment? You'd become a puppet rather a person with a free will.
IF you want to know at a glance how things are, why don't you invest in an ephemeris of the 20th and 21st centuries that provide the daily planetary motion and lots of astrological stuff that you might not otherwise be aware of, or overlook. You will eventually begin to read it as you would the chapters of a book and find SO many answers to how and why you (and others) did this, that and the other. It's a small investment with immense returns.
Just an idea.
F.
Ahh, good idea...
My last post didn't make this clear, but what I'm looking for is a tool to help me remember long term influences. The stuff I write in my diary is what I need to DO everyday, not daily transits ;) I'm not the type to check my daily, or weekly aspects, in order to optimise things. Couldn't possibly integrate that much information :D
What made me think of this is the free 'forecast' horoscope on Astrodienst. Occassionally I look at the interpretations, and think oh yeah, that is happening now isn't it?? But forget to remember that it is :p Those outer planets grind away, and I forget what they're doing if I don't look at my charts.
Ephemeris, I had never considered getting one, thanks...

howl,
The slower moving generational planets are VERY important in our personal development and occur at very regular times for everyone. So these are the easiest planets to keep track of...check your current age to see if it is time yet for any of these generational "hits":
The list of the timing of major planetary returns is:
Jupiter - every 12 years
Saturn - every 28 - 30 years
Uranus - 84 years
Neptune - 164 years (opposition occurs at 82)
There are four parts to a full "return" (square, opposition, square, conjunction (full return) ) which are found by dividing the planetary return by 4 (e.g., the 4 parts of the Jupiter return occur at 3, 6, 9, and 12 years).
Pluto is strange in that the four parts of its return do not break down into the one-fourth, one-half, three-quarters, full return pattern.:
Pluto return - 248 years
Pluto square - 35 - 60 years
Pluto opposition - 70 - 80 years for some, others will never have a Pluto opposition
Turning and returning,
Tim

Howl,
I attempted a similar project several months ago when I requested and received a free transits reading from Group Venus; as you may have observed from my activities on the forums, my Virgo South Node simply cannot refrain from organizing! However, I soon became overwhelmed by the vast amounts of information contained within this report and ditched the calendar...
Yet if you are able to be more selective about the type of information you include, I cannot forsee any reason why you cannot succeed! ;)

I have an Astrology program to highlight all of my Transits and it gives quite good interpretations too. I used to do it myself for the year ahead although I never did the Minor transits it would have took too long. The program lists the minor transits. It also has an at a glance graph so when more red appears on the graph you know a testing time is coming. And more green you know it is an enjoyable easy period.
Talking about transits I have Transiting Pluto square Mercury coming up. Mercury is my chart ruler as well. Do think this will hold more significance. I suppose all the transits are significant they make you face your issues.
My Mercury is placed in 7th and Pluto is transiting my 4th house. Mercury rules my 1st and 10th house. All the major houses. Maybe it has something to do with my partner and work affecting the home.
Major change with sibling. Affecting me physically somehow. Maybe I can finally start my diet under this transit. I have been wanting to lose a little weight. Who knows what it will bring.
Transformation in the home is challenging my thinking in relationships. Something may happen affecting my home life/inner world. Which may alter the way I think about my relationship. Affecting all areas of my life. Possibly to myself and how I see myself outside of the relationship and my role in society. Hmmm has me thinking now, what will happen.

Hello all,
Here is the little list that I'm trying to keep in mind (and keep my mind open about). I think these major tranists and progressions describe quite a 'theme' over the next few years. First it's all Neptuney, then all (soft) Saturn, and later, a few progressions that suggest increased 2H/6H/10H 'work' focus.
Also, possibly something a bit 'wild' is going to be going on around my birthday in December this year, with Jupiter (solar ruler) joining natal Uranus (5H) in opposition to my natal Moon (11H). Wow, that sounds interesting :p
Most of my aspects are soft; I think I've been through the 'hard' phase recently. Being a Saggie, I had Pluto conjuncting my 6H Sun/Mercury about two years ago :o It has helped me to develop an immensely deeper sense of my own personal strength :), and my own human vulnerability. My philosophy is to wed the two together, and to remember that I bear ultimate responsibility for my own mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
I learned, the hard way, that ultimately there ain't no-one else here with me but ME!! (And I found out that that's ok. I now know that I am the best company I could hope for).
Interesting how I came to astrological study as Pluto steamrolled over my Sagittarian stellium. It's still sitting on Neptune. I like it much better there than on my Sun/Mercury ;)
By the way - I'm planning not to be on the forum for a little while. I need to concentrate, and it's too tempting to write posts instead :p But don't worry, I'll be back around soon enough!!

The beauty of routine (Progressed Venus to 6H) Dec 2007 - ongoing
I actually don't bother with short ones that change daily, eg transiting moon ones but I do take note when the trans sun squares my natal sun as it really upsets me and my parents (I am early Aqu, my mum is an early and squaring sco to me and dad is an early and opposing leo to me and we used to fight so bad when the sun would reach the start of a fixed sign). I still get nervous when a square like that.
However, I do take note of the longer transits (like what you have printed above - from astro.com I take it?) and do remember the positive and negative transits that I have had in the last few years.
I am very much looking forward to my transits (except 2nd one), after the **** of 2004-5:
Love's power * Pluto conjunction Venus: * Beginning of January 2006 until beginning of November 2007:
Undesirable consequences * Uranus square Neptune: * End of March 2006 until end of February 2007:
A poetic cast * Neptune trine Moon: * End of April 2006 until end of November 2008:
Gaining experience * Saturn trine Ascendant: * 4 August 2006 until 19 August 2006:
Enough foresight * Saturn trine Jupiter: * End of August 2006 until mid May 2007:
A sense of compassion * Jupiter conjunction Neptune: * End of January 2007 until beginning of October 2007:
