I have Saturn in Schorpio, and recently discovered it's implications (from two completely different sources, on the same day).

And now I just found out a lot people who are close to me have that same aspect.

4 or 5 of whom were born around '55ish, including my parents.
As well as my sisters, who is two years older than me, from 1983.

Any thoughts on this aspect?

Speaking from a psychological viewpoint, Saturn in Scorpio would involve issues surrounding power and control, emotional manipulation, and emotional isolation vs. bonding. Abandonment, death, and grudge-holding would be other issues that may need addressed. Any of these ring a bell? Also, since there are many in your family that have this aspect, there may be a common thread of one or more of these issues that runs through the family. Hope that helps.

Well that was my first thought, I figured I attract these people (like I seem to attract Cancers and Capricorn types).

But than I realised it's a generational thing: apparantly all people born around '55 or '84 have it.

The thing that struck me most about it it is that it cages in your emotions, basicly making you emotionally overprotective.

I can see that for my sister and strongly for myself, but not as obvious for the older folks: I figure they've had more time to grow and learn to deal with it, as I asume I will one day.

It was also a bit shocking because I have 2 or 3 martial arts teachers who have this aspect. Which is funny because the art is designed to control all emotions, including fear and especially agression.

In contrary to most other martial arts I've practiced, which usually did employ at least some form of agression. Which is why I switched to this possibly saturn/scorpio martial art.

Which is something I've thought about before: in my situation it is rather interesting to practice an art that encourages you to express your emotions to the fullest. Yet I've specificly chosen one which does the exact opposite, for that exact reason.

Well, so much for releasing my mercury/aries and mars/gemini energy (overactive mental activity, but astrology thought me the use of releasing steam now and than).

I have Saturn in Scorpio, it's a singleton on my chart unless you count the conjunction to IC and opposition to MC. Both of my parents also have it. A generational thing, yes, but I don't think it's a coincidence. I can't really say exactly how it affects in general, as I don't know anything else - I have it and I grew up among people who have it, and probably for this reason I haven't really paid any special attention to it. Saturn conjunction IC is something I can recognize better, not a nice aspect...

Which martial arts do you practise? I've been interested in martial arts since childhood, but so far haven't tried... yet.

Saturn in Scorpio

You are learning to handle and express effectively any kind of power, be it sexual, political, personal, material, occult or whatever. Initially, the need to learn such lessons may manifest as a fear or disdain of being deeply involved, of pysychology and the unconscious mind, for such things threaten your feelings of control. For the same reason, you are therefore inextricably drawn to finding yourself caught up in anything powerfully influential or compulsive, or that breaks taboos.

So as time goes by, you should gradually and eventually acquire a sense of how to manage intimate relationships and critical, life-and-death situations. This could enable you to become an authority in what were at first possibly areas of weakness - sexuality, death and power - with ruthless but just efficiency.

Shining Ray.

Hey Missa, sounds like we have similar experiences. And I have Saturn conj MC (worldly power?), opposition my Mars.

I have practiced Aikido for 7 years now, quite intensively, tried quite a few styles.

A year ago I tried one which was very Martian focused. Which I think is a good thing concidering my Sat/Scorp/MC opp Mars aspect, but drove me to my current style, Ki-Aikido, which is very un-martian.

Interestingly, my three main instructors who have the Sat/Scorp aspect all started practicing this martial art around the age of 30, when Saturn came back into it's starting postion.

And both my parents have it in 10th house.

Shining Ray, I do hope you are right about the mastery thing: it is something I crave for, and am strongly concentrating on at the moment, and which I might strongly need one day.
I think I will inform about my relatives' natal information, it seems to run in the family.

Hi Sanem,
I made a horoscope reading for a man that had Scorpio Saturn conjunct Scorpio Venus at the cusp of 12th and the 11th houses. I ask him about extra martial affairs with this type of positioning and he finally admitted that he had had one that he had managed to hide for a long time. 12th house(hidden) /11th (friends) in action. He is a nice enough (I generally get along best with water signs especially men) guy but very shrewed in money matters and business. Scorpio Ascendant, Scorpio Sun, and Mercury as well. with an East hemisphere Cradle chart configuration. He's a master and sensi of a very violent form of martial arts. (the guy is death, with feet, you would'nt know it by just looking at this short squat fellow lol) He's a millionaire several times over.
Take Care.
