View Full Version : My daughter's North Node is in 9° Aquarius in the fourth house. Should I be worried?

I'm concerned because I was reading that this placement in a natal chart can indicate a separation from parents that could cause pyschomotor and coordination problems(I'm not really sure how that would be) and/or that the placement would put the South Node in the 10th which could indicate the early death of the person's mother. Should I be worried? How influential is this aspect of my daughter's chart? Can anyone tell me, I'm really concerned. Thank you.

My South Node is in the 10th, and my mother lived past 80!!
Sounds like dodgy information to me. Don't believe all you read, especially astro information which predicts doom and gloom and death and destruction.
The nodes - signs and houses - are significant placements in relation to karma, and the tasks someone has been born to carry out. It would be more beneficial to firstly check out the major planets and their signs and houses before launching into the nodes.

I wouldn't be too concerned. I think your daughter has a very nice chart and shows that she has a secure homelife and good family and upbringing, having Jupiter in 4th with all those other planets.
North Node in 4th could mean something that your daughters destiny in this life is to do with her family and maybe being a mother herself, but independent at the same time (Aquarius).

Hi Satine,
Let me put your mind at rest. The North node has to be somewhere. The north node is not in any way an *ill fated point*. Your daughter's north node is in Aquarius and unaspected...so nothing impedes the fulfilment of her karmic path.
Your daughter actually has a very nicely aspected chart.
As for psycho motor problems: illnesses are shown by h6 cusp ruler- in her case Jupiter. Her third house of her mind is also ruled by Jupiter and jupiter itself is conjunct the sun.None of this describes the kind of illness you suggest.
The ruler of her ascendant, her health, is Venus and Venus is exalted in pisces, also under the benefic rulership of Jupiter.
Her parents are represented by h4 and h10 cusps:Saturn and the moon.I notice her moon is in Saturn's sign and in the chart, Saturn rules her dad, her home. This to me suggests she has a strong connection to her home and ancestral roots.
I see nothing indicating bad news around her health either.
Cheers,
Lilly

a basic understanding of modern astrology would easily put your mind at rest. In my opinion no one can predict 'death' there is no formula or signature.
[edited to indicate it is poster's opinion and not an astrological "fact" - Moderator] Yes I did say this in my post!

Thank you all! That is very comforting! And Lilly I wanted to ask, you were saying that her father and I are represented by Saturn and the Moon and that the Moon is in Saturn in her chart. Does that indicate the close bond between me and my husband? I was curious. Also if you get the chance is there anything in my chart that stands out regarding family or longevity? Thank you!

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com (http://www.astro.com/) and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.
Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'
Only pluto and saturn would be in 11th the rest would be in 12th house and perhaps you would like to research this further --

Thank you for the info Astrologer 50! I went to astro.com and looked for an equal house system chart option and didn't see one listed under that name. Is there another term for an equal house system chart?
Also I don't have my husband's birth time so I'm not sure if his chart would be useful without an ascendant and I'm actually not really concerned with getting opinions on the details of our marriage. I was just curious if the Moon in Saturn in my daughter's chart indicated that her parents were very close. Since Lilly mentioned that the Moon and Saturn represented her father and I, I was interested to see whether that meant anything. I was also curious if there was anything in my chart that stood out regarding family or if there was anything that was an indicator of longevity in my chart. After reading the creepy South Node in the 10th stuff that I read, I thought it might be comforting if there were. Everyone's posts have really helped put my mind at ease though, I just though that something like that might be one more thing that would stop me from worrying.

ha-ha,
I have node in aquarius third house, 18 degrees. My mother should have been very worried 40 years ago. She got pregnant by a sinster evil abusive man who destroyed the whole family.
If your daughter´s life is meant to be hard you cannot sit here an look at her astrochart. Life is what it is.
I´m grateful for all the horrible things I´ve been thru. I´m glad my mother locked herself in the bedroom and never talked to me for several years.

Satine, out of interest, where DID you read that about the node? I googled but couldn't find any sites saying anything like that.
Also could you re post your chart on a new thread, if you want us to look at it...This thread has to stay on topic about your daughter's chart.
Re the moon saturn..in your daughter's chart these two planets represent her parents. You have Saturn trine moon natally?
That describes the relationship then as well.
Cheers

Thanks Lilly! And I'll absolutely repost my questions regarding my chart as a new question. I found the information regarding my daughter's chart on this website
http://www.alwaysastrology.com/birth-chart-calculator.html (http://www.alwaysastrology.com/birth-chart-calculator.html)
I'm not sure how accurate this site is, I'm kind of an astrology newbie.
And thank you everyone else for the input!
And my apologies Astrologer 50! I was planning on reposting my chart in the style that you prefer but I didn't see any option mentioning equal planets in the drop down list. There were a lot of chart drawing options though. Is there another term that could possibly describe the style of chart that you're mentioning? If you can think of one let me know and I'll try to repost it.

While certain traditions regard the Dragon's Head as being mildly malefic, I follow Gerard of Cremona, Joseph Blagrave, Manly P. Hall (and several other authorities) in regarding the North Node as benefic, as a combination of the + qualities of Jupiter and Venus:happy: I agree with the positive opinions expressed by several of the previous posters regarding your concern.

Now looking at your daughter's chart then, Saturn in 12th suggests father may have minimal involvement or effect in being a role model. The square to moon I feel is out of orb as 11' and max from sun, moon is 10' the rest is 8' + or - the orbs on the default on astro, I tend to reduce them down to 85% or even 80%
Notice she has a 'bowl' chart shape AND lower hemisphere emphasis - suggesting subjectivity and inward focus on life.

"Lower (northern) hemisphere The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th houses. A subject with most of his or her planets in this part of the chart will be sensitive to the moods and feelings of others, and may suffer a good deal as a result. The person may try to live though their family rather than for themselves, and may be too subjective in their thinking. They may also choose to do most of their thinking and working at home."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natal_astrology#Hemispheres
"The Northern Hemisphere is comprised of Houses 1 through 6--the lower half of the chart (below the horizon). This is the personal and subjective portion of the chart. These houses rule areas of life that directly impact the development of our personalities and help shape our individual identities. People with a preponderance of planets in the Northern hemisphere tend to be private and more subjective."
