I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com (http://www.astro.com/) and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'

Your Jupiter and sun are in 8th house in Equal house and Jupiter is conj 9th house cusp because it's within 5' of house cusp going anti clockwise, so therefore is considered more effective in the next house along.

There is a 'plethora' of information on AW, espec in the 'stickys' at the top of every forum, our Education forum and Recommendations forum to. Plus we have a good search feature, bit like google using keywords --

Anyway, I wonder if you'll inherit something that you'll have to travel to get (ruler in 9th and the 8th house sign both involving travel).

hello, my mercury is located at 29º conjunct 8th house cusp, and neptune is at 01º of the 8th house cusp aswell, how would you interpert this placement in 8th or 7th house? and in which signs?

Well in Equal house - no problem-- they are in 8th and anything conj 5' a house cusp going anti clockwise is interpreted in next house along.

ok, then saturn at 25º scorpio is read in the next house and sign, 7th in Sagittarius, Jupiter at 23º capricorn is read in 9th in Aquarius...
