View Full Version : First House In Two Different Signs
Hi,
I have a theory question.
When the 1st house is in two different star signs - Saggitarius and Capricorn, let's say in the 24th degree of Saggitarius and it covers the entire sign of Capricorn - can I use as the ruling planet of the 1st house both Jupiter and Saturn?
Wave.
Hi,
does anyone know the answer to my question?

Although more than one zodiac sign may be contained within the first house--or any other house, for that matter--I believe the significator of a horary chart is always represented by that planet which rules the sign of the Ascendant or the appropriate house cusp. Which house cusp is used, and thus which planet is the significator, depends upon the nature of one's inquiry...

You may use as a significator of the house;
1. The ruler of the sign on the cusp,
2. The almuten or the exaltation ruler of the sign on the cusp, and/or
3. Any planet in the house regardless of its sign
However, using the ruler of the intercepted sign is not traditional. I have never seen it in use and I have no idea how accurate the outcome will be, if that. However, astrology has developed through trial and error (among other things). You may try that way and see if it works. Let us know if you get anywhere with it. Who knows?

If you have Sagittarius rising then Jupiter is your ascendant ruler and some say the chart ruler. If you dont have planets in Capricorn then there is no real influence there. With some house systems you may only have one sign per house anyway such as equal house.......Look at what your Jupiter is doing and where it is and its aspects for a fuller picture of how you present yourself, your body image and first impressions and your early childhood influences and how you show yourself in order to survive which may not be the real you deep down..........but a persona or a mask..
