Hello members,
How to calcuate the data for particular location from an ephemeris in which data is given for geocentric position and GMT ? like for ex. If i want to calculate particular date's data for beijing (Latitude: 39° 55' 44 N, Longitude: 116° 23' 18 E) and time zone +8 hours. Then what i have to do ?
for ex:- feb 2004 GMT ephemeris data is here http://www.khaldea.com/kldaephem/2000/feb2004gmt.shtml, now i want to calculate the same date's data for beijing (Latitude: 39° 55' 44 N, Longitude: 116° 23' 18 E) and time zone +8 hours.
Thanks

I did not understand quite right what you mean, but I guess that you are trying to calculate the longitude in minutes so to add or remove that from the sidereal time - calculations.
longitude for example: new york 74 0 x 4 = 296 /60 = 4 hours and 56 minutes
This result you should add or remove (depend if you were east or west of Greenwich) from your calculations.
Is it help you?

Why bother, www.astro.com (http://www.astro.com) does all these calculations automatically, even adjust times zones etc.
If you are wanting to learn how to draw a chart manually ie: by hand try here --

thanks a lot for the links and replies but I have doubts that if we read particular date's data from http://www.khaldea.com then :-
1. Of what time the data is given there at www.khaldea.com ephemeris or http://www.astro.com/ ?
2. If there is an aspect showing at 12:00 by www.khaldea.com then for what location that aspect is for ?
3. Is the aspect time given at the www.khaldea.com same for all countries or it differs from timezone to timezone and if it differs then how to calculate aspect time for particular timezone/country/city ?

cool,
You asked:

The short answer is: it's complex. Part of the long answer is here:
http://www.astrologyguild.com/calculatechart.htm
This only mentions calculating the Sun, Moon, and Venus. Each planet will have its own adjustment you need to make to calculate the planet's position.
You need to convert your time to Universal time and then adjust for the movement of each planet in the day. A lot of work just to get the same result you get with the click of a mouse on astro.com!
Sticking with astro.com,
Tim

ok, if there is an aspect written in ephemeris in GMT time like mercury180degree mars at 4PM since the time is in GMT then do we have to calculate the time zone for specific location ? OR the aspect time given in ephemeris is same for any location on earth? take any aspect from http://www.khaldea.com/kldaephem/2000/jan2009gmt.shtml
