View Full Version : Moon at about 29 degrees virgo, has it got libra traits?

I thought I read something somewhere about planets being at the end of signs and having traits from the current and the next sign. Is this true? What about the moon? Its a fast moving planet, so I would think maybe it could mean something.
My moon is 28,57 degrees virgo to be accurate.

I also heard that 29 degrees is called critical degree? And has something to do with "fate"?

I don't know how many degrees the moon takes up in the zodiac, but I do know how wide the sun is, so assuming that the moon takes up approximately the same amount of degrees as the sun (they look to be a similar size), we can get an idea of when the moon is in one sign or partly in both. The sun is about 30 minutes of arc wide, using this figure for the moon gives us an idea of when the moon is in both signs or "cuspal". The moon is in both signs at 00.00 degrees cancer, 15 minutes in gemini and 15 in cancer, it only takes around 25 minutes for the moon to cover this distance, so the people born with the moon in both signs will , according to my sources have the emotional make up of the two signs involved. Whichever sign has the larger amount of the moon in it will be the most dominant sign, however secondary progressions will also have an effect as the native ages.

It sounds like your moon is "void of course", which means that it is the planet in the latest degree of any sign. What this means is that major transits and progressions aspect every other planet before the void of course planet. When the moon is the void of course planet, the position takes on added significance, for the moon symbolizes your emotional self. When the moon is void of course you put your emotions last, habitually, so that when you do finally react it is not a clear response to a single input.

Does it help that my sun is in libra? When the moon is near libra? Does it intensify my libra traits?
I also have Venus and Mars in Virgo, they conjunct the Moon.

What an interesting chart you have, moon void of course, with venus and mars conjunct (not tightly), and merc conjunct pluto in scorpio!.....check this out: http://www.astrologyweekly.com/astrological-aspects/mercury-conjunct-pluto.php The moon and mars don't go together very well, and this could lead to you finding yourself in an arguementive mood from time to time, but luckily planets progress and we grow up and adjust the projection of ourselves to suit the present circumstances. i would guess that you do have more mental/emotional and/or physical tension than the average person, so a look into the ways of releasing this tension would serve you well. I put your chart up twice, with placidus houses and with equal houses, I don't have much experience doing charts of people living so far north of the equator, so am hesitant to use the shown house placings as indicators of where the tension is likely to manifest. You have some great natal placings to work with, have you looked into your yod at all?

I read that article and I have a question! Why choose as a classic critical degree the 0, 13 and 26 of cardinals? 8, 9 and 21-2 for fixed? and 4 and 17 of mutable? Why is this exist? Is there a theory about that? Is this have to do with the 360 degrees of Zodiac?
And something else! Is this theory the same as above about
15 deg of taurus
15 deg of leo
15 deg of scorpio and
15 deg of aquarius
I read that these 4 degrees are the "Gates" to unleash energy. Is that true? Should we give them especially meaning?
Thanks

No, I didnt know I had a Yod? Where is it?:P Does it involve NN or ASC?
All my planets are at one side of my natal chart.
I think my tension is being used at school and at work. Im always doing something and easily get bored. Im glad Im studying something I find interesting, if not I would probably be more frustrated with these configurations:tongue:

It is all nonsense and has no basis in fact as far as I am concerned. I dont get the premise at all.

You have Sun in Libra so you are going to be basically Libran and the connection will be there with Venus and Mars yes, but it is what we call dissociate as they are not in the same sign so they are weaker than normal conjunctions. The conjunction has to be within 6 degrees at most.

Your progressed chart shows that mars and venus have both progressed into libra, venus is in rulership in Libra so will be easier to express than when it was in virgo (fall) , mars on the other hand is in fall in libra, meaning its not likely to be as easy to use well as the natal virgo placement, you seem to be looking for a strong libran influence , does this have to do with relating to others?

Not really when relating to others. But I havent always managed to identify myself with things that I read about virgo, and more with libra. Could also be because I have AC in an air sign (gemini). Also I wonder if Im emotionally from a passive sign or active (libra).
Mars conjuncts venus with 5 deg orb and venus conjuncts moon with 4 degree orb. Sun doesnt conjunct anything. It only has a sextile from uranus (and semisextile from mars).

This kind of thinking is coming from old texts and Traditional astrology. I'm a modern astrologer that uses Equal house system :whistling: :whistling:

Moon void is a horary term and doesn't mean that much in natal charts.
Moon and mars suggests a bossy mother

Ah, ok, now I see:)
But can we include AC in this yod?
I assume its my AC at the top making a yod with neptune and mercury/pluto. Or?

The ascendant does aspect these planets with quincunxes, so yes its a yod. The quincunx shows us where we look for perfection in what we do, which is what you are doing with this post, using your merc/pluto in scorp sextile neptune in capricorn (spiritual skills)to verify your self projection (asc) !
