Hi, folks.
I'm trying to figure out whether to use Placidus or Whole Sign, and in order to do that, I need to really understand what a heavy 9th house person would act like, because I just don't get it out of pure planet-in-house interpretations.
In my Placidus chart I have my Moon-Mars-Jupier stellium in the 9th, in the 1st degree Gemini. According to most descriptions, that's supposed to really emphasize the happy-go-lucky, optimistic side of my personality, and I just don't feel it.
At first, I thought it made a lot of sense, with the 9th being about abstract knowledge - my interest in astrology being there since..ever, and starting to really get into it at 15 - but, after several years of just taking it for granted that Placidus was the way to do it, I just couldn't help noticing all these little elements that didn't seem to fit.
Like, for instance, the 9th, and especially with the stellium being in Gemini is linked to an extreme flexibility and love of travel-whereas, despite the fact that I love to see new places, I really never felt comfortable traveling, and consequently, have let quite a few opportunities for travel slip away, simply out of reasons of comfort(I should've probably mentioned that I also started taking my Sidereal placements into account, for a month or so, and the stellium being in Taurus makes even more sense to me-but that's a whole other debate in itself.), plus the interest in philosophy..I've always seen philosophy as a waste of time, mostly, and was never really interested in taking an in-depth study in it. I like maths, though...which is more.."structured", I guess.
Also, I don't always find it that easy to see the big picture-sometimes, I do, sometimes I don't.
I do, however care about seeing "the big picture" and understanding the laws of nature/the Universe, but that could already be explained by Jupiter being conjunct my Moon and Mars.
In whole sign, these would fall in my 10th house, which makes a lot more sense to me, although mostly in the negative way assigned to this house-issues of fear of responsibility have been there all my life, as well as always feeling I had to live up to my image, and social expectations-although I haven't yield to them yet. As well as just focusing on actions that are a sure path to success-I never felt comfortable risking.
I also fit the mold of being raised by a very ambitious, status-conscious mother (Moon in 10th).
So, I'd like to ask those of you who have a heavy 9th house in both placidus and whole sign to tell me if they do feel particularly "Sagittarian", without this being explained through other parts of their chart.
Or, if you do have a heavily aspected Jupiter, and only have planets in the 9th in one of the two house systems, please write all the logical arguments you can think of to support your feelings that this 9th house/Sagittarian influence cannot be coming from anywhere else.
