My father told me tonight that my estranged younger brother had to have a biopsy and other tests for cancer (possibly throat). Does he have it? Looking at your other cancer inquiry, I would say no.

I was just checking to aee if anyone had had time to look at this chart, when I realized the chart should be turned starting from the third house, since I am asking about my brother. That puts his significator and mine in his turned sixth house. Maybe he IS ill. Anyone have an opinion?

I would say "no" too. Do you see that VOC Moon? Usually that means that "there will be no change" or "nothing will come out of it" or "you have nothing to wory about".

Actually, the VOC moon may make the chart unfit to judge. Something is 'wrong' with the question, like maybe you've asked the question and received an answer already....? .

The void of course Moon is a "No" answer sign.

Indeed, Lilly said that the VOC Moon would make the chart "unfit" to be judged, but some good modern astrologer from UK (unsure if it was Deb Houlding or Susan Ward or somebody else) explained that we have to understand this text (Christian Astrology) within the social context when it was written.
Lilly and Gadbury and others were frequently consulted by VIPs and giving a wrong or negative answer could make them fall into disgrace. This is why all these "considerations" (I call them observations) were figured out and this is why the VOC Moon was considered as a "consideration against judgement". I think I remember that in Christian Astrology there are charts with VOC Moon, yet Lilly goes on and delineates them.
The VOC Moon actually indicates a lack of substance or consistence of the question. The mind goes astray and asks all kinds of questions. In most cases these are answered by "No". Exceptions are the Moon in Sagittarius, Pisces, Taurus and Cancer.

Thank you all for your input. My brother's biopsy came back negative.

This is great news! What organ/tissue was it? And the symptoms?

I suspect it was Deb Houlding. As I've said on another thread, you *can* read VOC moon charts as 'nothing will come of it'; with a question as serious as this I would be hesitant to read anything else into it and would suggest the client came back later...

However, I would also caution against asking the same question more than once; this very same question was posed on another forum site, with a different date given of two days later; the querent must be warned that such practices are not beneficial as second and third and fourth charts of the same question are going to be invalid. There was much debate about this very question on the other site (I have the chart for that debate sitting in front of me); it seems that since the question was asked on here, using an earlier date, the entire debate about this question was a waste of others' time. Please. Don't do this to astrologers who are lending you their time and experience!

Radu, he lost his voice and apparently has throat polyps, or some other type of benign growth which showed up in the MRI. Thanks a lot.

Archer, I understand you are a Sagittarian, and thus very frank, but it is not your place to remonstrate with me in this situation. I have posted many times and had no response to a question for some time. This was a very scary situation and so I posted in two places. I also thought if a question is sincere when asked a second time, the answers would be the same. I am sorry you felt your time was wasted. As the recipient of your advice, I do not feel you wasted your time. I always value your input. Francesca.

Your remark that you suspect it was Deb Houlding is completely cryptic. No one, as I remember , on the other site, gave me an answer.

Francesca,

I was speaking to Radu about Deb Houlding being the one discussing void of course moons, and not to you in this matter.

I am not remonstrating you, but if you are practicing astrology, you need to understand that there are certain 'rules', especially with horary, that must be followed if it is to work. Repeating questions is one of these things. It doesn't make any difference whether the question is sincere or not; for a horary question, you ask it when you think of it *first*, because if you ask again and again the chart will become unreadable, and reading them is a waste of everyone's time.

If I remember clearly, we *did* give you answers, several of them, on the 'Does my brother have cancer?' question on the other site, unless it's just a pure coincidence (which can happen, I suppose) that someone from Lockport, NY, asked 'does my brother have cancer' two days after you asked an identical question, from the same city, on here. I, in fact, printed out the chart, made at least two posts to that thread, said that I was reluctant to read it any further. That thread has now, apparently, been removed, as I went back to double-check that I wasn't imagining it. I understand very well that this a question that caused you considerable anxiety and I have every sympathy for you. Be that as it may, asking twice, with two different charts, on two different sites, is simply and purely not good practice; and this is simply because in horary the first chart is the 'real' chart. The chart we gave answers to on the other site was not.

So, please, turn your anger somewhere else. As you are also an astrology student, it would be a positive move to consider that others with some experience in astrology are not 'having a go' at you, but are giving you some valid points to take in.

I am happy that your brother's troubles weren't serious.

Best wishes,
archergirl

Sorry if this sounds too easy question too ask, that might be because of my ignorance. How do you understand you guys that the Moon is in VOC. Do you check the VOC table on the site? Or I see that Moon is making some aspects to some planets!! How many degrees should it be apart for not making any aspects to any planets?
Thanks a lot.

Elansome,

This is quite synchronistic...I created a thread titled The Void of Course Moon (http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2280) just today, asking this same question! ;)

Elansome, Arian,
The Moon is void when it cannot apply by major aspect to other planets while it is in sign where is.
