Perhaps this is more about preconceptions about how Neptune placements 'work.' They may not necessarily be about artistic talent per se, at all, but may manifest in different ways to how we assume.
Maybe it is because there are so many astrology cookbooks out there. How a chart works is so complex.......MercR can be seen in so many diff ways, Jane Austen for example had MercR in detriment in Sag....the favourite author of so many people. Astrology is not as simple as these aspects houses signs give these results. The blending of energies and what we chose to do is of consequence.
Just means you got to search deeper for the meaning as you are in a state of confusion (which is just a place between two states of clarity). OO maybe I should coin that..."Confusion is the place between two states of clarity".... how does that sound?

Yujeen, artistic indicators in the chart can mean many things. It can mean good at painting, sketching, sculpting or taking photos even, good at writing, good at singing or playing an instrument, good at acting, etc. Your friend could just have a good eye for beautiful things only and it be true to the chart (venus trine neptune)
Yet just because the talent is there it doesn't mean someone is going to use it to it's full potential. How can someone talented in music nurture this gift if they don't ever sing or play anything?
You say there are no indicators in your chart, well maybe there are and you're not seeing it cause you're giving importance to aspects to Neptune or Moon. Post your chart, so that other members can try and help with it. :joyful:
Mars conjunct ascendant doesn't mean large and strong if let's say it's in pisces, cancer or libra. Where it is positioned as well makes a difference. Not that one can't be very strong even if they look weak. Also, men in the military, those in high places, would probably have mars in the tenth house which is pretty strong by itself.

it just goes to show where modern cookbook astrology fails once again.
you need to learn the elements of the planets, and what they do, their individual essences. Once you've mastered this, your as an alchemist with 170 different chemicals you can use. (more then the periodic table has)
120 possible combination's for planets in houses,
50 possible aspect combination's
+ other things such as collection, translation, transition etc. etc.
Rather then paying 40$ for some modern psycho freaudin book, that just repeats what all the authors of the last decade have said, with no new information, and no information you couldn't have figured out on your own.
Additionaly figure out what the planets mean by themselves, and ull never want a cookbook.
I have come across the idea that saturn is needed to bring the nebulousness of neptune into the physical. So saturn neptune contacts are ones to look for. Veus and Neptune can stay in non physical expressions....just ideas thoughts and feelings. Something extra maybe needed to bring them into being.

It's a pity, because I barely have any artistic indicators in my chart even though I do so well in Art. I draw, I sketch, I paint, I design, I create -- EVERYTHING! But sadly, I have like no artistic indicators in my freaking chart which really frustrates me.
I think, somewhere I mentioned about dominance of Venus. Yes here is pointer:
And BTW, second important aspect is T square, which can give a career / profession which is ruled by Venus.
Yujeen, could you image Venus aspects for these cases?
- Making art
- Earning through art
- Loving art
- Indifference to art
- Hating art
- Spending for art
- Suffering through art
What possibly could be aspects for "indifference to art"?

I agree with this very much. Also, I believe sometimes hard aspects are those that make one work on something,
regarding this, I have Venus Neptune square - constant struggle and search of that perfect beauty, and Neptune sextile from Saturn - materializing it.
Second example - my cousin has grand trine of Moon Neptune and Venus, and as much as he loves all kinds of arts, he has never been inspired to take part in any of them. He feels everything around him, he is great when it comes to judging quality of other's work, he has great imagination, dreams.... but has never produced any type of artwork.

Interesting. Is the aspect to Saturn only for natural born drawers? I have neptune in capricorn squaring venus in libra. Neptune is conjunct wit saturn in cap, and venus is in a quintile with saturn and I don't know how to draw. I am trying to learn how to draw though.
Saturn in connection with Venus can give some artistic ability in that it can be painstaking such as wood work etc. THe 5th house has to be influencing for artistic expression. Neptune in conjunction with Venus can give artistic sensibility and appreciation of beauty and often is involved with photography and the ethereal such as ballet and mystical and misty type of art. Saturn by itself is not an artistic planet and can give only discipline and hard work to any artistic talent and a need for plans and technique as well as patience. I have Saturn on the 5th cusp and have done leatherwork which requires much patience as well jewellery making with metal and stones....It is also in Leo. It is sextile to Mars and Neptune in Libra. Again a design and artistry sign.
We need to see your chart as always.
Chiron,
I dont think the one aspect has the same result everytime.....there are millions. As with all astrology I think it is important to see the chart in relation to what YOU LOVE. That is the energy your chart is somehow embodying.
I dont think that saturn is always the key....but it explains the need to express in a physcial form....taurus and cap signs I woul think helps too.
I my own case I paint and have venus conj MC in Auqarius which happens to have Saturn as trad ruler. I do have sat trine nept but at a 9 deg orb which is really too wide. Venus in my chart aviods my strong t-squares and sextiles mercR/SN and trines NN. Venus is also bQ jupiter and Q neptune. Neptune contacts everything in my chart except mercury.
So there are a lot of overlying aspects. I studied architecture as a youngster......and my whole life I have felt I have been searching for my own true self expression in art, I painted since 4. So teaching has been part of it, understanding the role of the right brain and intuition, the capacity beyond logic which feeds artistic production.
So understandable there has been an artistic theme to my career for many years with Venus MC, but my love is painting from my feeling base.....and have moon chiron neptune in a grand water trine. My thumbnail is a large painting called knowing....maybe expressive of the merc venus sextile.
Would be interesting to see other people here that do a lot of art work to see how is expresses in their lives.
