Ok, haven't been here in a while haha, hope this is in the right forum. OK, I think ive found a pretty fool proof way of rectifying charts, Ive been toying around with it for a couple of months and I feel that it is quite effective, basically...you utilize facebook, or really any social networking tool, as long as it displays member's birthdays. Now, what you do is you take note of the day that you added, or someone added you as a friend. Then you set up a progressed chart for your birthday, and then, you set up a natal chart for the other person, as well as a progressed chart for that person. This progressed chart will be for the day that you became friends with the person on facebook, or whatever site you choose to use. Essentially, you want to be looking at where your probable progressed moon would be aspecting the other person's natal or progressed planets. Most of the time it is quite obvious the connection between you and the person you have befriended on facebook. I.E. Your progressed moon trine their natal or progressed sun, etc etc. Obviously this is not an exact science, since you do not know your time of birth, and presumably do not know the other persons time of birth, however you can get a pretty good feel of what degree your moon is probably in, judging by the aspects it would most likely make to the other persons natal or progressed planets.
I have noticed that the planets most involved are the moon, sun, venus and mercury. Not always, but most of the time, this makes sense as all of these planets are "friendly/benefic", sociable planets. Secondly, I have noticed the preponderance of soft aspects between the two charts, usually trines, but sometimes conjunctions or sextiles. Again, this is fairly logical going on basis of sociable/friendliness.
Like I said, this is not an exact science, but I feel that it is quite a novel (and very effective) approach towards chart rectification. The funny thing is, I concocted this theory while jupiter was transiting aquarius hahaha. How appropriate being that facebook is a striking manifestation of aquarian attributes.
Obviously this will not give you your birthtime down to the exact minute, BUT, it will give you a very specific timeframe in which to work in. From there you could easily rectify further to find the exact degree of your ascendant.
Lastly, I have not got a lot of sleep today, i've been quite busy lately, so if anything I have written isnt very clear then that is the reason why, but I am eager to hear feedback about my idea, and I welcome any questions. Have fun with this!
