I cannot site a definitive factor which inspired me to pose such a question at this time, except that I will soon be a senior in high school and the prospect of college admissions looms menancingly along the horizon. As I am not particularly enthralled with my experience in the educational system, I am considering forgoing college altogether in favor of alternative programs. I have not yet explored either option, and it is not too late to change my mind...

EDIT: I uploaded a new horary chart including asteroids, as the ninth house Vesta/Moon/Mars conjunction and Juno/Saturn conjunction piqued my interest.

Mmm.. Beth..

I'm not a very big fan of "Should I..." questions. I mean, there are always pros and cons for everything.

Could you rephrase your question? Like maybe focus on what you want and ask if you're going to get it. I mean something in the line of "Will I be a successful professional if I attend college?" or "Will a college degree be a relevant asset in my future?".

Just focus on what the desires that you had in mind when you first thought of the question, then rephrase it.

I believe that at the time I asked this question, I was chiefly concerned that my future would hold no promise unless I earned a college degree. Perhaps I should clarify that the question was asked with a certain amount of bitterness at the lack of other acceptable options...sort of a "Do I have any other choice to live a fulfilling life or will I live in my parents' basement until I'm forty?"

Thank you!

This is an interesting horary Mavy!

Lemme give it a shot....

I can see it's valid with the Moon & you (Mars) in the 9th of higher edu,
plus with Pluto Rx in 1st, indicating feelings of dread, a later degree indicates it coming up fast.

First-
Your disappointment with the educational system in general is
the Moon's last conjunction with Saturn.
I relate on this alot actually, lol...thats why I homeschooled for high school.

You view it as going "too slow" for your natural eager curiosity/unique thinking style..But we don't need a chart to see that!
And in Leo, all the superficial clique/brown nosing dynamics were leaving a bad taste in your mouth??
(Tell me if I'm off here!! lol)

Can you explain what alternative programs you're thinking of specifically?

I have to read up on House associations here.....
But I'm GUESSING that the 9th
is the typical college you imagine..Which the chart fits how you view it...
The 9H Ruler is the Sun in unfortunate house 8th.....In Cancer sign of "traditional" ness, with no essential dignities.

Experienced members help me out here!...
the 3rd from the 9th would be the "alternative method"??
So it would be represented by stronger Venus in an angular house, in the more flexible/fast paced Gemini symbolism, but also no dignity..It's in Mercurys Term & Sign though..still figuring out what that means...but none the less, the 9th ruler here isn't very well placed.

Perhaps the ASC Degree is later because you know in your heart what you
want already? (Mars in the Fixed sign),
and last Moon aspect is conjunct Mars (using only Traditional planets)
...Hmm....Seems to indicate again that either path would be easy for you to get into given your grades/past?
(I hesitate to use modern planets unless conj. a relevant cusp/planet since I'm a novice).
Mar's depositor is the Sun - Another indicator the typical college would accept you, but Mars also in the terms of Venus...

Hope that helped a little at least and I'm not way off, lolol.. ;)

Actually, I have had a rather unusual experience these past two years and am preparing to return to my local public high school this September. The entire story is still too painful to retell, even after a year of home instruction...I fear that if I pursue higher education, I may lose myself again :(

Well, Beth. In order to get an idea of how things will turn out if you go to college, we should look at the nature of aspects between your significator and that of college. If the aspect is stressful, then the effect won't good. If the aspect smooth, then the effects should be ok.

For your luck, the aspect between Mars and the Moon is the one apsect that can be interpreted either way! The Moon is applying to a conjunction to Mars. A conjunction is sort a both stressful and smooth aspect. Some energy combine really well, while others are difficult to handle.

Beth, I think the answer to your question is that college will be what you choose to make out of it, because that exeperience will have both potentials, good and bad.

I know that this doesn't help much, but the good news is that the ASC is almost a late one. This may means that you are close to making up your mind or getting the information you need. Maybe that year back in highschool to help shape your percepective.
