what if your chart has no lines through the area you live in? does that cause depression? I have a friend that has depression for many years and I saw his relocation chart and that city has no lines through it so I wondered if he relocates perhaps just maybe a new city with positive lines could make him happier. Any ideas?

The "lines" are just aspects. If someone does not have aspects with their new AC/DC/MC/IC that does not make them unhappy. A relocation might change the Ascendant, add some aspects, and shuffle houses around, but it should be looked on a case-by-case basis.

Think you're barking up the wrong tree, have a look see what T Saturn is doing to his moon or progressed moon around saturn. These two are the usual culprits. Plus Saturn in aspect to Neptune can do this.
Mostly relocation and astrocartography is quite new and untested in astrology and is quite a specialised field and to be honest I don't think there's many on here got that kind of knowledge -- it's mostly guessimate.
