Hey it is very interesting on the other side they should make an analisys of different dates since here in Mex, people discusses if it is on 12, 21 and 23... I'm not very informed about it... So it might be good to make different charts... I think so!

I agree with Niplan on this. Maybe as they were being exterminated they didn't have the time to continue the calender.

It is quite interesting that mars has no aspects to any other planets in the 2012 chart. Mars, the god of wars is not linked to the change over in a large way...so it's going to be a peaceful one. It is somethingg we naturally do ... to relinguish without force or aggression into the new... Just a suggestion! :)

Niplan, how long (in time and space) are the changing of epochs. I don't remember the spcific time that the mayans gave to their claenders but every 5000 years is coming to mind right now...

Hello, i just would like to share a couple links to Ian Xel Lungold lectures about his work with the Mayan Calendar, Lungold was the most credited researcher in regard to this subject. In short he says that the calendar starts at the first day of creation, and follows on, it doesnt necessarily stop, its made of cycles, and right now we're comming to the end of a 26.000 years cycle, in his oppinion we're about to experience a shift in counciousness and he speaks specifically of a probable mutation of our physical body, more specifically the brain...
He also speaks about global warming and how all the planets in the solar system are heating up, not only the earth.
The most interesting about his work is the correlation of the Mayan Calendar with Terence Mackenna Zero Point theory, time is speeding up...

Fascinating links, I've been looking for info about 2012. After having read about the super solar storm that we are also expecting in that same year. I read in a UK magazine Cadeuceus that something about 2012 will make us able to go back to nature, and work together again as we did as a nation during WW2.

I'm wondering whether the large solar flares they say we will have, will effect us in a major way. If we do have super large flares, and they go against the Earth's magnetic field, there would be widespread havoc, electrical systems may be thrown out, compass and navigation disturbed or knocked out, thinking of how we rely on electric so heavily these days. Not forgetting the sattellites above us, thousands, that would be effected.

Even if this was to happen, it would be nice to come back down to earth, I feel society is up in the air, speeding up, but too much when you see the chaos and turmoil in towns and cities.

On a personal level, I'm curious because the Jupiter will be conjunct my 10 degree South Node on the Descendant, opposing my N Node/Nep conjunction! This is trine my Merc/Ven conjunction in Aqua. Pluto is also squaring my 9h Pluto at that time. I see Venus is opposing the Jupiter in the chart, I wonder what that can indicate, in Sagitarius. It seems like a nice energy to balance out the heaver Saturn/Pluto.

And wow, the Saturn in Cap, and Pluto in Scorp, wow that is heavy! We will all be slaving away, paying back a newly occured international debt, I think the powers that be will be have a lot of authority over us at that time, maybe more than now. Not sure which way it can go in 2012 for us... i have read the theories about one world order and so on, but with the debt of countries ever increasing, countries becoming bankrupt like a fall of dominos, it does make me wonder which way were going as a world.

In the course of chronology, in replacement of calendars, during existence of this world 6 years have been lost.
2012 on our calendar corresponds 2018. Search for "Doomsday" in November – December, 2018. All cataclysms till this time will be only the beginning. An apocalypse

I wrote my own short interpretation of the Mayans and their description of the end of times.

How to build the mental fire.
The Mayans were genius astrologers/ astronomers. A group of highly advanced people who lived by prediction and the contruction of the Mayan calendar. One day, they up and disappeared from civilization.
According to Mayan tradition, on December 21, 2012, the calendar stops. It is supposedly the day that the Sun lands itself at the center of the galaxy.
They believed that this was the cosmic womb, the place of the dead and of regeneration. MY interpretation of this: "Going to the place of the dead to Worship the living." It is a bold move towards life in this dying age.

Just for the record, there will be no occultation of the SgrA* (galactic centre) by the Sun in 2012 nor for many years to come. There will be about a 5.6 degree separation between the two in latitude, even at the closest conjunction. The conjunction, by the way, will peak around 1:05pm UTC, Dec 18, 2012. Let us remember that we experienced a conjunction about as close last year and the year before. It seems that if 2012 is heralding some great change, then neither astronomy nor astrology are fit to describe it. The date actually came from trying to find a spot on a calendar, not from observations of the skies. I like my astrology to be oriented the other way around. :)

Strange....
I looked at the transits occuring on the famous 2012 event and some things have piqued my interest:

-Neptune will be conjuncting my ASC and Mercury in Aquarius
-Saturn will be in my 8th house sitting in between my natal Moon conjunct Pluto in Scorpio
-Pluto will be conjuncting my Neptune in my 11th house in Capricorn
-Mercury will be in VERY TIGHT conjunction of my MC in Sagittarius
-The Sun will be in VERY TIGHT conjunction of my Saturn/Uranus conjunction in 10th house.
-Mars will square off with my Jupiter
-Uranus will square off with my natal Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune
-Neptune will be in trine with my natal Moon and sextile my Saturn and Uranus
-The N.Node will be in trine with my own natal N.Node

Been channeling info reg. the "SHIFT OF CONSCIOUSNESS" for years. the Mayan Charts along with IChing and many others fit the astrology transits..so there is no doubt in my mind as I FEEL it occurring there is a change a transformation but any ending is only of that which no longer serves us...and out of this we will create a new reality experience.

What we can't forget is there is a collective mind creation and the reflection from within each of us individually...So regardless of the collective events our
own inner vibration will create how we experience it....That's the beauty of recognizing how we are all aspects of the One here to experience for expansion of the All.

Is this "change" the 12 of december or the 21st? I hear both:/ The number 12.12 keeps popping up everywhere for me.... I keep having strange unusual dreams around the 21-22 december each year. I heard this is winter solstice, darkest time of the year, when the sun turns to lighter days....

I see that for the 21.12.12 my transits involve alot of Nodal-Saturn contacts.

Transit Saturn in close conjunction to my South Node. (6th h)

Transtit North-Node in close conjunction to my Saturn (this is in the 6th house)

Mercury close conjunct Uranus in the 7th.

Mercury opposite chiron (1st h)

Sun conjunct Neptune in the 8th.

Venus conjunct DC, in 7th house.

Jupiter in the 1st house approaching chiron.

Sometimes I often feel things like Cal Callemans Mayan Calendar and Transition of Consciousness book should be required reading. It's far from the last answer but is one of the many indictiors of the Shift in Consciousness and from it we can glean a valid view of the progression of such.
We just spent 12.8years in a Galactic Consciousness expansion which as predicted to advancetelepathy and technology beyond anything we thought possible..Today the world lives with a device to the ear or texting away with both hands.Facebook created contact created a revolution for freedom and keeps us connected around the globe. Back in 1999 businesses had PC's and they began showing up in every home. This cycle 1999 t0 2011 and the results prove valid.
In Feb 2011 we moved into the Universal Energy of Consciousness the exact time this revolution was initated for freedom from the limitations placed upon people via control of government, to eventually via transformation of ethics become self governing. The prediction for the frequency of this cycle was just this. Along with humanity recognizing self as a Unified Field and One with All Creation, to sense it's self as such and move away from perception of duality and ego control.
Each of these are like steps of a pyramid (9 total) we are at the last one Universal, with
each time span gettomg shortened to where we accomplish the same amount of evolving in a lesser period of time..Each cycle is 20 X's faster then the one before it. We felt time speed up in the recent past this was the 12.8yr cycle being 20 X's faster that what went before it ..This present one beginning this month FEB2011 is 20 X's faster than that or 260 days to accomplish what just took 12.8years. Then we step to the top till 2012 taking these foundation blocks to build our new reality which by 12/21/2012 should be well established enough be begin functioning under new perceptions of consciousness.
If this 8mo period till Oct 2011 proves itself as the past cycles did, we will have attained humanities goal of moving/evolving into New Consciousness and perception of self in the world we experience reality in. It will be a new reality.
The Mayan Calendar like the transits in Astrology are directional signs pointing to what we the species desires to accomplish as Consciousness.

You might want to look at that with a less prejudicial ethnocentric view.

In the Northern Hemisphere, it is the shortest day of the year, and how short depends on how close you are to the Arctic Circle.

But, in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the longest day of the year, and how long it is depends on how close you are to the Antarctic Circle.

If you are at or near the Equator, it is a non-event, since day/night are of equal length (12 Hours).

Bob: nothing is going to occur on this day, this is not an event it is a period span over many years changing the frequency which will create a transformation in how humanity views itself. This date is likened to the 12 on the clock as a marker point of another day this is a marker point of a new energy where the old energy has wound down and the new takes over....
