Oh, ptv, you got me that time.

I hate to burst the mathematical bubble but - you know I will cos I can!!

The mathematical formula for the exercise is:

(3x+3)x3, where x = the number you thought of.
When expanded this formula becomes:

9x + 9, .......THUS.................

the final number will be a multiple of 9, and all multiples of 9 add up to 9!!!!!!
