Birthdate: 3-27-1959 1:38 AM, Pittsburgh, PA. Have a consistant cough. Thought it was food allergies, but no longer only bothering me after meals. Should I be concerned? Is there anything in my chart which says I have a real problem?

Depending upon whether the cough comes from the throat or the chest, there would be a Taurus/Gemini link. Persistence would imply Saturn.

Your chart shows Saturn in Capricorn Ascendant square Sun- Mercury in Aries in the 3rd house of communication. Gemini is on the 6th house cusp. Mercury and Mars are in mutual reception and are quintile to each other.
Ideal for a teaching position.
However, natal Mercury is inconjunct Moon-Neptune in Scorpio, whilst Moon-Neptune oppose Venus in Taurus.

There are many reasons for a cough that has a tendency to become chronic.
Transiting Saturn in Leo has been inconjunct its natal position and squaring the Moon-Neptune-Venus opposition for quite a while. This could suggest some kind of final ending you have undergone. You may have kept feelings inside instead of talking about them. You may be in a position that you do not see as many people as you did, so you don't use your voice as much.

We are all chatterboxes in my family. My sister lost her husband quite a few years back. Her social life immediately died with him and the family is widely spread out. She spends days alone when she sees no one, although she is heavily dedicated to her church and sings in the choir. But the lack of regular speech use has effected her vocal chords. She has also developed an irritating cough that becomes chronic when she is on the phone or talks for more than a few minutes. she is obviously taking in too much air that tickles her throat and is effecting her speech. Your own indisposition may be similar.
Transiting Saturn also trines your natal Mercury. This might be a good time to start some kind of regular speech training to get your vocal chords back in good condition......including talking about all those things you may have always kept a stiff upper lip about;).
