i have completed most of my rahu dasa was vegetarian became meat eater during this dasa this suits my type "o"blood .so i actually feel healthier.it has been a difficult period my indicated desire to serve and heal has not been fulfilled so brought some unhappiness(rahu in aq 6th hse)as relationship indicator it has brought disappointment also. no relationship in this life or the last.finally nearing the end of this cycle i find a secure home to live.(jupiter as star ruler of rahu rules the 4th)i have learned a lot about rahu during this period which helps me to understand other peoples charts a little more.rahu creates desire but not necessarily fulfillment the transits of rahu have been especially strong during this period.

see in which sign rahu is placed and its owner, planets close to rahu, close to ketu(viewing rahu) .
Rahu in his dasa gives mixed result of all these planets(mostly of conjuct planets) and the result variations are controlled by the owner of constellation in which rahu is placed

my current bhukti is venus(lahiri) or sun(raman) rahu conjunct jupiter in 6th ,aquar. mutual reception by star ruler(rahu in pb jup in shatabishak sub of rahu is venus sub of jupiter mercury(in 5th and 4th respectively)6th house s.s.s.sat-rahu-sun its early days for me with all this sub information and i learn slowly so any help would be appreciated only aspects to ketu is jupiter.i would post chart but dont know how.

jup in 6th in aquar means u have virgo ascendant.
so rahu conjuct jup will give effects of 4th and 7th house along with sign lord sani's 5th and 6th house results
now results will also depend on where sani is place but most will be controlled by JUP itself as rahu is on PB constellation and JUP is conjunct.

most of the results of 4th house will happen as JUP is in 3rd house w.r.t 4th
but most desired results of 7th house will not happen as JUP is in 12th w.r.t 7th H

thank you this is very usefull as i needed an example of how k.p. may work .as you say i get a home and a car late inlife (6th house influence and saturn ,had to wait)but gave up any idea of a relationship some time ago despite desire.this detachment has brought some peace of mind.my saturn is conjunct asc so does this mean 8th from 6th saturn gives poor results for health.9th from 5th good results for creative mind, performing good deeds etc?

Regardless of Venus' aspects, Rahu/Venus will almost always usher in the opportunity for love. But if the aspects are poor; or Venus is in a sign it does not like, the love may come with burdens or responsibilities; or not in the incredibly desirable package you had imagined. But again, with Rahu being the giver, you should get some type of romantic relationship within the time period.

my venus is in uttara ashada suggesting a love of solitude. In 5th cap, but 12th from dhasa ruler, rahu. more isolation. venus star ruler, the sun rules the 12th house and itself is 12th from venus.During venus bhukti i have enjoyed more comforts than i ever have ,but have felt isolated throughout. Getting the internet recently has helped.(mercury sub period)with all this 12th house influence i should be enlightened by now L.O.L.

I am currently in this period, and ever since it started I have been having problems with eating disorders - mostly overeating/bulimia.
although I got to the low weight, the amount of food I was able to eat was insane,
start closely coresponds to the begining of this dasa, that is why when I read this I decided to reply on the post and reveal a bit more then I would normally on a public forum

Cravings were insane. I was never before having this problems in life, so this was a real change.
During Saturn subperiod there were 2-3 years I was seriously underweight.
I just entered Ketu subperiod and hope similar influences don't repeat.
although I must admit I am only at basics in vedic astrology and don't understand most of stuff written in this thread, i wanted to contribute nevertheless :o

Ketu is not exactly easy, as it is known to be "the taker." However, it takes what you really do not need in the first place; or have had way too much of. Things tend to go exactly the opposite of what was intended. One public example....

usually 6th lord in ASC shows good health. strong immunity and at times you dont notice a health hiccup and it just passes away
but since planet here is saturn it'll make you strong after crossing 35 yrs only
8th from 6th is not poor results but a threat in mind

8th house causes threat, danger, fear of danger, insult etc
it depends on sublords (see in k.p) to what extent and how you face them
if sublord is beneficiery then it wont effect much

yes my health is very good except rahu/jupiter i was very ill(jupiter is maraka)during rahu cycle i have been attacked with a stick threatened by guns and weathered two powerfull sustained psychic attacks(all unrelated events)peace has reigned during venus bhukti.may it continue!!!

coz JUP as 7th lord will cause ill-health
and rahu conjunct with JUP will give this effect more in rahu-jup and also cos both are in 6th H

venus should also cause ill health as its 2nd lord but it becomes a beneficiary as its also 9th lord, so it wont effect much

for him venus is 100% favourable planet than jupiter
so better improve venus's strength by a diamond(if he believes in gemstones)

jupiter may give him company after rahu dasa but venus if well placed will certainly give him a family of his own

hello thank u 4 your wisdom virichi and your compassion minnee.my b data 6jan 1951 2325 gmt leeds england.yes i blieve in gems but diamonds dont grow on trees.i did aquire a family during venus bhukti ,as i took on 2 mistreated "rescue dogs" enabling me to fulfill the father role.i do wonder about my health in upcoming jupiter dhasa will the bad results be mitigated by strength of rahu in6th?(navamsa has jupiter fallen and sun fallen in its 7th.)

7th lord or planets in 7th H can give a partner
it can be a girlfriend, a small affair, business partner, opposition in views (as 7th directly opposes lagna)

but 2nd is certainly a family. so all those partnerships may not convert into family if you dont have good support from 2nd H and its lord
venus looks comfortably placed but is on sun's constellation, which doesnt give family that lasts long.

jupiter is too weak in navamsa
diamond r expensive , so try an yellow saphire to strengthen jupiter
this will only give you

rahu's sublord is venus, so during venus bhukti you might have got close to having a family, but what follows is sun bhukti which causes seperation.

saturn's transit between july 2007 - sept 2009 was bad.
jupiter dasa will also not give family as its on rahu's constellation and mercury's sub

rahu controls 6th H and mercury is lord of 1 and 10 H placed in 4th H
so both deny a family.
also 7th sublord mars is noway connected to family formation and long family life
JUP dasa will effect health to some extent

lord of 1 is 12th to 2nd H so no support given by that planet to form a family

yes it seems i incurred bad karma in 16th century india when i left my wife and family to seek enlightenment in the forest b4 fulfilling my family duties.result, no family, no enlightenment. hopefully i have learnt something.saturn transit fallen in my 8th was indeed bad the entire period as u suggested.you suggest loss in sun bhukti .is this b cause ketu is in sun nakshatra in the 12th( the nakshatra that has the power to give a family which also contain my saturn)........your web site lives up to its name i am finding some illuminating articles there.

usually for taurus asc. rahu dasa will be good (70%)

I am currently ending my Rahu Dasa; and true to form, desires have been intense, but are waning in my final Mars bhukti. Rahu is in the fifth house of my natal and in the first conjunct Saturn in my navamsa.

I'm a natal Libra Ascendant, with a Sagittarius Ascendant in my navamsa. Venus is in Libra conjunct Jupiter in Libra in the first in the natal. Jupiter is in fall in Capricorn in the navamsa; but is in the second conjunct the Sun, as well as ruling houses 1 and 4.

For me, Rahu has brought everything eluded to in each bhukti--during Venus, I got a spouse and a home; during the Moon, I got a baby. Rahu/Mars is also supposed to be good and bad for Libra Ascendant since it rules houses 2 and 7, and it indeed has been mixed.

I completed a Rahu Mahadasha several years ago. Rahu isn't entirely well placed in my chart and this was probably the most difficult period of my life.

Yes, one is inclined to lead a non-vegetarian, alcohol consuming life-style. One's instincts and preferences are more carnal in nature. A Rahu dasha is followed by one of Jupiter, which is the complete opposite of Rahu and my way of life has change accordingly, but can't say that was not because I was conscious of the fact the a Jupiter Mahadash would have such an effect.

In my case Rahu created obstacles and difficulties, particularly as this coincided with a Shani Sadesati, but there were enjoyable periods too. On the whole, I can say I'm glad it's over.

My jupiter antardasha period has been the only succesful period.And saturn antardasha was mixed.Don't know what ketu antardasha might bring next!

How good or bad a transit is depends largely on where the planet is placed in your chart. That is, if it has an important role, if it is exalted/debilitated, is placed in a central house and so on. This applies to all transit, including Rahu/Ketu. Hence, if Rahu was bad, Ketu might not be and your subsequent transit of Venus could be very favourable. It all depends on the above.

Therefore, don't be despondent, doing your best, making the best of all situations and performing the right 'Karma' is what is of prime importance.

Usually Rahu mahadasha & Ketu antardasha(bhukti) is a bad period but it depends on their placements.Ketu antardasha will begin after mercury antardasha has ended.I am undergoing ketu antardasha.My rahu is in 5th & this period is so bad that I can't even explain it.Venus will follow & depending on the placement, it might be a better period than mercury or ketu antardasha.It is longer than both.If venus antardasha goes well, then you'll get the power required to sustain the remaining rahu mahadasha(about 4 years).Then jupiter mahadasha will begin.It's period is mentally more peaceful than rahu's.Results depend on placements, as usual.
During rahu-ketu period, it would be better to recite rahu mantras & make donations regarding the same, search the web.

Rahu is a Shadow planet...the resuly of RAHU dasa depends on which house it is posited...with which planets it is sitting . who is glancing it ? which nakshatra it is attached to..

Rahu is not so benefic in 12th house.Rahu is most benefic in 6th and Ketu in 12th house.That is the best rahu-ketu placement.Yours is opposite.My rahu-ketu aren't well placed either and mars, venus, mercury & sun are all under ketu's dark shadow :(

Well I am going through Rahu Mahadasha now , My rahu is in 6th and ketu in 12th ..
I havent seen much good happening, the only thing gud is that I am more ambitious and determined now , but at the same time I am very very confused and fickle minded .

All people in Rahu dasha are now influenced by the transit of Rahu in scorpio it's debilitaion sign. I have noticed that it sometimes give urges to explore such things like drugs and give some complexities in general.

The dasha is much influenced by what the dasha planet do in transit.
That is a general principle stated in scriptures and I learned by my teacher too.

and I dont really see the my spiritual side coming up , in fact I hardly do anything spiritual now .. all I do is have alcohol , non-veg and go out and have fun ..

But if it's in leo in 2nd house it makes a lot of sense that you feel like doing that.
Transiting Mars is in it's retrograde phase now and is at long standstill in
Leo influencing your 2nd house AND your period planet Jupiter.
2nd house is related to diet and food as ruling over the palate and mouth.

Mars is karaka for meat and give increased desire for such things as well as " unpure" intakes through mouth such as alcohol lol

Maybe you could add some hot spices (mars) to your veg food to get some more pure food in a 'martian' way lol

This is interesting topic. Currently my wife is in Midst of her Rahu Dasa and experienced many ups and downs on several areas, she's Libra ascendant with Rahu in her 7th house conjunct natal Venus. But the most stress-full was certainly Rahu-Saturn, this meant double stress. Luckily she's over that already and is now entered into Rahu-Mercury for a while.

I also had my Moon-Rahu dasa and also had many ups and downs during this period, creating lot of mental stress and insecurity, because Rahu also aspects my natal moon from 10th house (I'm Scorpio ascendant).

Rahu connects present time with future and Ketu connects present time with past experiences as I understand from literature. Both can give material / spiritual improvement dependent on their house placement and planets they influence.
