Uranian Astrology / Planetary Nodes

Hiya! New member here. ^^

What are your views on Uranian astrology? I've hopped around some random sites and forums and I see that it hasn't really been brought up a whole lot, although it's out there. Do any of you use it or take it into consideration? What're your experiences with it?

And what about Planetary nodes? Have any aspects to those...? Conjunctions? Squares? Monkeys?

I'm asking because I have Hades vaguely sitting on my Ascendant, as well as one of Uranus' nodes. I'm not having trouble imagining and researching meanings for it, but what I -am- having trouble with is being objective, and trying to sort out where these aspects, if they do at all, come into play in regards to my life.

So...do any of you have thoughts or opinions about these areas of astrology? Are they reliable, in your experience? Any similar configurations?

What are your views on Uranian astrology?

I'm not sure. It takes my interest, but Uranian astrology uses the '90 degree dial' and I must admit I don't understand it at all. Perhaps this is something I ought to ask about on another thread, and see if anyone can enlighten us as to how this 90 degree thing is actually supposed to be used.

I cannot help but be interested in the Uranian planets because I have some interesting partile conjunctions between the physical planets and these 'hypotheticals' in my chart.

My natal Jupiter is in partile conjunction with Cupido, and my Pluto is in partile conjunction with Poseidon. I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean however.

My personal hunch is that Uranian astrology is best utilised in relation to mundane astrology rather than personal nativities.

Thanks. Yes, it is an exact opposition, with hades in the 12th. I did come into this life with a lot of occult / metaphysical knowledge already instilled. But I prefer not to mess around with it much. I pretty much stick to astrology and tarot.

What exactly do you refer to by "dials" I see mention of them all the time whenever I try to read up on Uranian astrology but I never really found a good explanation of what they were, all I can figure out is that the dials correspond to 16th harmonic aspects (22.5 degree being semi-octile, 45 degree being octile, 90 degree being sqaure.) so I'm guessing it just points out planets at the midpoint of planets making the aspect described by the dial, but I'm not sure.

At the midpoints or the angles/aspects at multiples of 22.5 degrees, being considered "hard" aspects. Multiples of 15 degrees are considered "soft' aspects.

Okay, so when you say 22.5 degree dial, It just means that the two planets making the midpoint are also semisquare eachother, meaning that they're both semi-octile to their midpoint, yes?

It means that on the 22.5 degree dial in the Uranian system that the moon is midpoint venus/cupido within 1 degree of orb.

Okay, so are you saying that Venus and cupido are each 11.25 degrees from the moon (with .5 degree orb, each). Or are Venus and Cupido each 22.5 degrees from the moon?
Basically, when you mention dials , I really have NO IDEA what you are talking about, and I have not been able to find out exactly what a "dial" is in Uranian Astrology, I understand midpoint pictures and such, I just don't understand the concept of dials.I have a vague idea of what a dial looks like, i just have no idea how it's supposed to work...

Actually on the uranian 22.5 degree dial, venus and cupido are one degree from the moon. In the uranian system the 360 degree horoscope is reduced to smaller dials or smaller horoscopes ie, 90, 60,45,22.5 15 and 10 degrees. This greatly magnifies the chart. In the uranian system all aspects and midpoints are considered within one degree of orb. This results in a great degree of precision in delineating a chart. You may consider reading "Rules for Planetary Pictures" by Ludwig Rudolph for more info.

Make enough planets available in the horoscope and you can pretty much justify anything you want. If you like a chart that looks like a very, very chunky vegetable soup, then go for it.

If you want a little discipline and adherence to a classical interpretation system, then you might light Jyotish which dispenses with the trans-Saturnian planets.
