Hi all,

I was inspired by Pixy's thread about celebrity quotations, and I thought that as individuals, many of us have mottoes or quotes which are unique to us, which we will repeat many times - or perhaps it's just me. :?

The thing is, personally, I have little sayings that I will often repeat, and I wonder if these are reflected anywhere in my chart.

Does anyone else have similar mottoes/quotes which are unique to yourself, and where do they reflect in your chart?

Here are mine, which I have often repeated in my life:

"Trust no-one - not even yourself".

This is something I have often said since my teens.

"A good teacher will never tell one something is so without telling the student why it is so, a teacher who does not tell is a poor teacher, a student who does not ask is a poor student".

This has been a saying of mine for the past few years, sounds like something the Buddha would say or something. :?

I used this motto of mine in a post about names and astrology.

Can anyone locate these quotes of mine in my chart?

Do any others have personal mottoes/aphorisms, that are unique to you, that you have used several times in your life? Where are such sayings reflected in your chart?

Dude I'm so flattered I inspired. :D

Long post Warning****

I see your Virgo-ness in posts, always super detailed & well-thought out.
It's certainly "service to others" on this board!
Man you'd make a killing when astrology becomes your paying job. (Biased to Virgo energy here- it calms me the most)

"Trust no one, not even yourself" - Remember "The XFiles" show?
This was the tagline at the opening sequence, and paranormal investigator Agent Mulder's quote!
(BTW, his character was an Aquarius, lol)

I look to Mercury, since it rules the thought process....
...this quote is shown by deep-digging Pluto, and pessimistic Saturn adding to your Merc...In self protective Scorpy non the less!

Comedians often have Sat/Merc contacts..Sat. rules "Time" too, good timing is essential.
Maybe why Cap's can be **** funny?
Saturn colors your mental process in the cold, hard facts of reality(best comedy based in real tragedy, tears of the clown?).
Pluto = makes the dark parts of humanity/life clearer.

And it's all in the 7th house(Closest relationships), friend or foe, and all 3 in Libra.

Venus in Virgo opp. ASC =
Venus (what you desire) is a peaceful, just interaction with
folks, peace for peace's sake, cool logic.
A challenge to balance with ASC Pisces/8th house/Moon/Merc DEMANDS for the deepest connections/learning/communicating.

Pondering...Mercury isn't associate w/ masculine or feminine energy, it's the only planet that is flexible with this?
So can we theorize that Mercury "absorbs" the energy of the native's sign, and express it, easier than other planets?
"Communicate" the sign's energy, despite a non-traditional strong placement?

You're second quote regarding the student/teacher dynamic is interesting!
Saturn/PL/Libra planets again!
Mr. Teacher, lessons giving, rewards only if you work hard to seek them, PL seeking the dirt, and Libra with a give-take partnership.

Smoke break- BRB!

Hi Pix,

Long post Warning****

Ha, yea, I ought to provide them on many of my post, which are often very l o n g. :?

W A R N I N G! :?

I see your Virgo-ness in posts, always super detailed & well-thought out.

Thanks. :) I'm always quick to criticise also, because I love to initiate debate (Mercury Libra), and I am something of a skeptic, especially when it comes to asteroids and stuff like that, which I suppose is my Virgo-ness too, and while there are many Virgo's round here, Saturn is my Lord, and conjoined with my Mercury, so I'm a bit more conservative than most, especially when it comes to thought, idea and study.

The fact that my Sun is on the midpoint of my Moon and Mercury might say something about what you said about my posts.

Oh, did you know that my Mercury is right upon your MC?

(Also, your 14 Libra MC is exactly conjunct the Ascendant / Mercury conjunction of the 9/11 event, so what were you doing at the time? It is also conjoined with the USA (Sibley) Saturn. You might wonder why I mention this, but recently I've been looking at these charts, and 14 Libra stands out.)

Man you'd make a killing when astrology becomes your paying job. (Biased to Virgo energy here- it calms me the most)

Wow! Thanks! Such a nice compliment. I actually someday would love to become a proper astrologer, surely it is my calling, I feel I have the latent potential, but even if not, I'll always do astrology, just for the love of it.

Anyway, about the mottoes, yes, you are right when you say that 'trust no-one' comes from the 'X-Files', which is where I got it from, but I adapted it to 'trust no-one - not even yourself' and have always since used it as a motto.

I look to Mercury, since it rules the thought process....
...this quote is shown by deep-digging Pluto, and pessimistic Saturn adding to your Merc...

Yes, I can see the sense in this.

...In self protective Scorpy non the less!

No, I have this trio of planets in Libra. :P lol. I suppose this is significant though, because Libra is about equality, and the relationship of one thing to another, so it makes sense in terms of 'trust no-one, not even yourself'.

However, I think that there is something Scorpionic about this statement, and I have my Mars at home in Scorpio. I feel that there is a resonance with this there.

Comedians often have Sat/Merc contacts..Sat. rules "Time" too, good timing is essential.

Yes, true. I hadn't thought about this before. In a comedians chart, the first thing I would look to is jovial Jupiter, and see how it configures with Mercury. Have you ever noticed how well-rounded people often have a great sense of humour? That's Jupiter coming through, both in the size and in the comedic temperament.

Saturn colors your mental process in the cold, hard facts of reality(best comedy based in real tragedy, tears of the clown?).

Absolutely, good thinking! When you say about the essential timing, and the fact that comedy is tragedy, then you are actually right about Saturn neccesarily having an influence.

The comedy / tragedy polarity is so true.

I can remember in high school, my Neptune/MC and Leo Moon, lead me to take drama as a class option, because I am very good at pretending to be someone I'm not, I'm a good mimic and can do almost any accent on demand. I soon regretted talking drama, as despite my abilities, many of the things we had to do, I found incredibly embarrasing, and it just wasn't what I thought it would be.

Anyway, I can remember one particular class, in which a group performed a comedy piece they had put together about a deranged dysfunctional family, who were having insane arguments, banging each other over the head with stuff and ended up shooting each other in the end. The way it was acted out it was all very funny, but in order to demonstrate something, the teacher then asked the group to act out exactly the same sequence, but minus the daft voices, the silly expressions and the exaggeratted actions, and to act it out all very seriously. The result was very disturbing. The teacher's point was to demonstrate that all comedy is rooted in tragedy, and vice-versa.

I never forgot this. So your point about Saturn is enlightening. I will remember Saturn when I look at a comedians chart, because he goes hand in hand with Jupiter. It is also apparent that many comedians have had very tragic lives, or close contact with those who have, making it neccesary to have a good sense of humour.

Note also, the enormous wealth of jokes, which are about blacks, gays, blondes, germans, jews, indians, the disabled etc. Yes, okay, so they are funny, but none the less, rooted in ignorance, prejudice and discrimination, so there's that comedy / tragedy, Jupiter / Saturn polarity again.

8th house/Moon/Merc

My Moon and Mercury are in the 7th, lol, :P or have I misunderstood?

Pondering...Mercury isn't associate w/ masculine or feminine energy, it's the only planet that is flexible with this?

Yes. Mercury is hermaphroditic in it's nature. It's gender is determined according to it's sign, and the aspects it makes to other planets, so it or s/he can be entirely masculine, entirely feminine, 50/50, and everything in between along the scale. I think that Mercury is often overlooked in astrology, when considering gender, sex and sexuality issues, in favour of Venus and Mars, but he should be observed, to see how he modifies the energies of the two. Uranus is often associated with homosexuality, but I believe that this is rooted in ignorant prejudice, homosexuality being viewed as something perverse, somehow abnormal or weird.

In fact it is remarkable just how many things which belong to Mercury have been wrongly robbed by Uranus. Perhaps this tells us something about ourselves?

You're second quote regarding the student/teacher dynamic is interesting!
Saturn/PL/Libra planets again!
Mr. Teacher, lessons giving, rewards only if you work hard to seek them, PL seeking the dirt, and Libra with a give-take partnership.

This is interesting. I'll ahve to have a think about this one.

If you haven't fallen asleep after your weary journey through my long winded post, perhaps you'll post back? :?

Do you have any mottoes?

By the way, I haven't forgotten about your Tarot reading.........

Oh holy ****!!!
Draco my dear....I'm super embarassed now, I've NEVER made that dumb a mistake on looking at a chart!

I honestly DID seriously consider your chart, I didn't hurry through it!
Have sympathy, I was indulging in pharmacuticals. :!:
Had another miscommunication on a post today too, the Cobert one...Ugh gotta check Merc transits!
I got one thing clear though LoL I meant Moon/8th/Merc in their different placements, as a whole, work to that quote.

Wasn't XFiles fabu? Best show ever, IMHO, I hope when I become
a screenwriter I can be as compelling.

You're Merc conj. my MC...Ya know, all people I related to most via internet have stand out Merc/Angle aspect to me, or visa versa.

I'm a comedy groupie, mentally anyway, lol...Some sort of fate thing, always end up being buds with them. I love the saddness under their eyes, it's inspiring...Jim Belushi, Mitch Hedberg, Lenny Bruce...Demons that fueled the funny killed em. The ones I know are deeply lonely & substance abusive.
This, IMHO is, being too sensitive to the painful limitations(I'm ugly, fat, a certain race, etc) of reality...Best defensive is laughter.

Merc is still mysterious to me, but thats the definition of Mercurial right! lol

YaY I'm happy you got my Tarot post!

My personal saying, according to my children is:
'You always get to see the other side of the coin.'

One that has become a neon light above my head was said to me by a Japanese customer who I was trying to help resolve a, for him, personally made and difficult error. "It's not your problem," he said. At first I was a bit put out at the remark, but since then have realised how often I made other people's problems MY problems !!

And then there's Mulder's philosophy, "A dream is the answer to the question you haven't yet asked",

All seem to resonate my out-of-sign Saturn in Gemini to Neptune in Libra
square, with a touch of Mercury to both.

And, the best, a translation from Dutch:
'Don't turn your heart into a murderous pit."

That MUST be a generalisation of the Pluto in Leo effect

I never considered myself to have a personal motto, but lately I have found myself proclaming, "I'm a glutton for punishment."

I attribute this characteristic to all the harmonious aspects in my fourth harmonic chart!

Bump this back :)

I think it's a weird/funny choice of words for my friend (Who's super Aries),
says stuff like, "I don't wanna have to drive half-way to Mars for it"; "It's from Mars lady geez", " wow This is Mars weed".
You have to be there I guess..lol...(He's Merc in the 1st)
But for 4 years he's never mentioned another planet that way.

Hmm...I have a significant Arian influence in my natal chart, yet I do not recall mentioning Mars in conversation. It's certainly an intriguing idea, though! ;)
