1) Though my mother is a Libra and not an Aries, times she has fallen in the past few years, she's fallen on her face and banged it up! I can't understand how she's always falling on her face, but in any case... where in a person's chart does one find health tendencies, illnesses or physical weakness (or in my mother's case-- why she keeps banging up her face!)
2) Can anyone tell me the ruling signs of cities, states or countries? If no one knows themselves-- can you recommend a book which will tell me? I live in Pittsburgh Pa. I remember hearing that either Pittsburgh or Pennsylvania is taurus (I think) but cannot remember which or if this is true. Does anyone know? And I've heard conflicting answers to what sign the U.S is. I've heard it was ancer (July 4, of course) with Aquarious moon. But I've heard July 4 isn't the ACTUAL birthday, but earlier and so it's real ruling sign is Gemini. True? I think our country does seem more like a Cancer than Gemini-- "Give me your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." Sounds Cancerian and Aquarian to me!
3)Read something which states, "Starting around 900 B.C.E. four separate civilizations experienced a spiritual transformation spanning some seven centuries. The peoples in the regions now called Greece, India, China and Israel developed ethical ideas so consistent with each other that their independent evolution is a matter of pure astonishment." My question: What was going on astrologically at this time that this developed? Does anyone know?

You're talking of a period that spans over a lot of time - many centuries; I don't think we have the astrological tools to study that period, as the longest single planet cycle we know is Pluto's - about 250 years, which isn't enough. Not even Pluto-Neptune combined cycle is enough as it lasts approx. 500 years. On the other hand, the galactic cycle is way to slow... 26000 years. We need something inbetween, like a 3000 years cycle. Anybody, please anyone correct me if I'm wrong or bring additional details.

For the states in the United States, you can use this site to find out when the area became a state:
http://www.50states.com/statehood.htm
You should also do research on when the state became a territory because both charts impact how the people of that state see themselves.
For U.S. cities, you may need to search for incorporation papers which will give you the date that the city became a legal entity. City archives may also give you a date when the city was founded. Again, these should be used in synestry with each other because the founding date may be years or decades away from the actual incorporation of the city.
For example, for Fort Collins, CO., one would start with the establishment of the Army post for the "founding" of the city and then the actual incorporation date.
Most older U.S. cities you will probably never find an exact time recorded for the founding or the incorporation. For the time you might approximate that it would be during "business" hours because that is when most people would be free to travel. For cities incorporated in the 20th Century, you may luck out and find an exact time thanks to bureaucrats.

Hi Maries,
Answers to questions.
2) There's a long thread on this subject in Mundane Astrology, USA charts the ultimate debate - and it has been hotly debated! USA is definitely Cancerian - the Gemini issue only arises over the ascendant sign. However there is a case for the agreement having been reached on 2 July 1776 but not signed until 4th - see work by Helen Boyd. According to Nick Campion, Julian Armistead relied on sound historical evidence that the declaration was actually signed on the 2 July. You need to read all the threads and additional info on the Internet and make up your own mind.
3) There are two factors to consider here. the first is that this era fell within The Age of Aries which was circa 2160 BC - 1 AD The name Aries comes from the Greek Ares which in Latin became Mars. This 'age' was signified by the desire to express oneself as a separate ego and distinct individual. This idea is obviously totally antithetical to what you read about".....ethical ideas so consistent with each other that their independent evolution is a matter of pure astonishment." as it was a combative age of warriors and warfare.
However we can't disregard the polarity of Aries being Libra. As such we can see that many great venusian ruled influences also emerged during this time. Democracy arose in Rome, (Pax Romana) which is still the basis of much of the World's legislation today.
Also during the 500 years before Christ's birth many of the founders of todays present day religions were born. Buddha, Zoroaster, Lao-Tse and Confucius. They gave the World teachings which united the various tribal and ethnic groups into a more unified whole. Each of the 12 precessional ages of around 2,160 years brought a new consciousness where the masses began to integrate newly developing ideas of social behaviour.
To answer your question more definitively about what was taking place astrologically, this period must fall under the Neptune/Pluto cycle. This is a cycle of approx 480-500 years that marks out major epochs. If we work back from July 2 83BC which is the last computed date of the conjunction at 17 Taurus, we will reach approximately 500 then 900BC.
The 500's was a period noted for being particularly fertile, spiritual and creative. As Neptune/Pluto cycles mark out times of profound shifts in consciousness this must be to what your author was referring.
Looking in 'Mundane astrology' they say this cycle "has to do with the deep unconsciousness/superconscious of the collective and an opening to higher transcendant collective ideas and ideals".
The next conjunction will be around 2300 . The last one was 1891 and 1892 and it is intsructive to look back and see what was emerging and who was born in the years either side of those dates.
